The tunnels below Weston provided a wonderful labyrinth, and he'd had an additional, previously non-existent escape route carved into the place.  Diantha had been put into a lovely little pink frilly dress with ribbons and satin booties.  Surrounded by toys and stuffed animals, and with soft music playing that was supposedly proven to make babies smarter.

After checking on some of his 'surprises' Michael came into the room he'd set up for Diantha. "Well don't you look grumpy, whats wrong sourpuss?"

  She actually answered.  {{Mommy NEVER put me in anything this ridiculously frilly.  I feel like one of those dolls in the stores.}}

MIchaels eyes widened when she actually answered then he chuckled. "WEll I'm sorry but thats typical of what I've got I'll have to get you something more practical next time I go to th estore."

  She considered his answer, and asked {{Why not just put me in a blanket sleeper with feet so I can try and roll a bit?  I feel like I might ruin this thing if my diaper gets squishy.}}

He nodded "Let me see waht I've got" He moved over to anice dresser searching around for a mnute and pulling out a blanket sleeper, also pink and began changing her. "SO your probably wondering who I am."

  She gave him a serious look as she answered {{That HAS crossed my mind, yes.  I'm very curious about who you are, and why I'm here.}}

He smiled. "I'm your mommy's Daddy which would make me, your grandpa. And I'm going to be taking care of you for a while."

  {{Why can't I stay with Daddy?  That's where Mommy took me.}}

"Because Daddy leads a violent life and has a lot of enemies. Not a very good environment for a little girl."

  She regarded him solemnly.  {{But Mommy wanted me to be with Daddy.  She said that nobody else would be able to love me and give me proper care.}}

She co8uld feel his dislike and dissaprobal at that statement.  "Well Grandpa's been away for a while Mommy didn't know Granpa was still around and now he's back to make sure you grow up well and safe."

  She was watching him as she gnawed on her fingers, and she said quietly {{I miss Mommy.}}
