Re: Character and group planning

There's a few things that are going to be specifically required in your backstory, depending on what group you're in.

Setup 1: Where you were when the message reached you that you were needed in the town of Gloom's Edge (due to being named as a beneficiary of a will), whether by direct messenger, mail handoff, whatever. A messenger finding you in the depths of nature is fine, they have a good idea where to look.

Setup 3: What about you would draw the attention of a noble in search of some adventurous spirits. This can be anything, whether it's renown as a local mercenary, having a shingle out as a spellcaster, or even just walking through town with flashy clothes and obvious weapons. (Or an animal companion.)

Group 4: This one is optional since I can make it up myself if you prefer, but feel free to describe the way you got hijacked into the middle of nowhere. Were you bribed? Threatened or blackmailed? Drugged? Lured out under false pretenses? Beaten up and hauled unconscious? Sky's the limit. I will say, though, your abductors were careful to guard their identity, so don't include any face-to-face interaction. At most, you know they were some medium-sized humanoids, on the large side.

Re: Character and group planning

To the others of Group 4, would you guys rather I stick with pretty much straight up druid? With that, I'll probably be sneakier and pick up mostly utility and healing spells, but as I'm a halfling druid I end up with smaller forms (Dimnuitive instead of huge pretty much) so you can't ALL ride me in to battle. I'll most likely go that route, because we look to be very heavy combat now and I think if I go Master of Many Forms we'll have just a bit too much offense.

On the other hand, Master of Many Forms means I can turn in to bigger things... that's pretty much it though. Less magic, more grappling.... and swallowing people alive.

On a related note, can I cast magic stealthily? As mentioned above, all my forms are shifted one size catagory lower, so rather then being big and beefy I'm more likely to be small and stealthy. Just wondering if being diminuitive and stealthed I could cast spells on the party without people noticing, or even some offensive spells. I doubt the situation will ever arise, I just like to know everything.

Re: Character and group planning

As far as I understand it, if the a spell has a verbal component it needs to be said in clear and determinened voice.  Could take Silent Spell, but I don't think you can just whisper verbal components.

Hmm... I'm considering starting off as a Rogue with ranks of Knowledge (Arcana).  This way, I'll be ready to multi-class into Battle Sorcerer as soon as possible.

I will admit though, at least the mkII face looks like a warforged warrior and isnt too distracting. ^^

Thats why I picked this one... because the glowing white eyes, mouthless expression is what a Warforged is..

Emotionless? If you are dumped do you not feel sorrow? If you are cut do you not leak lubricants?

Why? because it's GUUUNNNDAAAMMM. . . no, seriously, it's because there weren't any warforged pics that I wanted to pick and this was the next best choice IMO. ;P

Re: Character and group planning

Its just a very...er...colorful warforged.  I don't see why one wouldn't want to get expressive and start painting all over its plating.  Same reason folks go and get tattoos I suppose.
