That's actually not one of the changes.
XP will be awarded after this adventure, which is nearly over. I don't hand it out in the middle of a fight or sequence.
The reasons for this are:
1- The logistics of suddenly powering up in the middle of a battle, including the realistic effects, is not a good practice IMO
2- During a sequence, your characters are naturally tired, exhausted and actually weaker than before it all started, so it is not realistic that they suddenly get powered up.
3- I used to require training for level changes, but since now I don't do that, it doesn't make sense to level in the middle of a battle/sequence
4- Leveling takes reflection and healing time to understand what was done right or wrong, so XP are only handed out during periods of rest or reflection.
