Re: Derrton Mall

Darklight allowed himself a slight smile, something he didn't do often.

"That is very handy. I'm thankful for your help, but you might want to get scarce. Derrton PD is a bit jumpy, as I'm not one of their favorite people nor are any masked vigilantes for that matter."

Re: Derrton Mall

Painter sighed, "Really? Ugh. Lucky for us, the Weston P.D. is pretty vigilante-friendly, as long as you're registered, and you don't totally screw stuff up. Anyway, if we need to skedaddle, then it's best to get this show on the road."

With that, Painter's armor flowed away, revealing Ozzy grinning underneath.

"Good to meet you, Darklight. Hope it's a slow day from here on out!" he said with a wave as he started heading towards the nearest exit.

Darklight chuckled for a moment, then flew away after the SCU secured the contents of the gas, not wanting to interact with the Derrton PD any more than he had to.

Once outside the Mall, Ozzy slowed down a bit to wait for the others. Once one of them exited, he'd ask, "So where'd you guys take Clarissa?"

Meg pointed to the car, and said "Safe, sound, and she can lock the doors."  Grinning at him playfully.

Ozzy nodded, grinning, "Ah, okay. I didn't know if someplace safe was there, or if Candy had taken them to the base or something. With her around, 'Clarissa is safe' could mean a whole bunch of stuff."

He then strode up to the car Megaira had pointed at, knocking on the window if the door hadn't already opened by the time he walked up.

"She's fine Ozzy...I saw to her myself," Victoria said with a grin. Which reminded her...she looked around for Andy. Even though he shimmered, she was still concerned for him, especially after the lack of gratitude exhibited by the denizens of Derrton.

  She didn't SEE him, but if she glanced at her wrists, she knew he was fine.  The Binds there were fine.  {{Went back to the apartment, love.  YOu know a few whacks with a purse won't put ME out.  I'm a lot sturdier than that.}}

Re: Derrton Mall

Ozzy nodded, "Yeah. Thanks for that! I was really worried about what would happen to her if she'd stayed in there much longer. I just hope that she's okay mentally. Having a bunch of dudes closing in on you and cackling like that had to have been pretty scary. I'm just glad I got to them before they could do anything."

Re: Derrton Mall

Victoria chuckled slightly at Andy's "message." Him being safe was a top concern for her, not that the man couldn't take care of himself.

She then looked for Penny and Clarissa, making sure that they had survived their ordeal intact. Her suspicious mind also couldn't help but wonder who pulled off this stunt in the Derrton Mall.

Re: Derrton Mall

Penny had moved through things eerily like smoke, and was waiting sitting on the car hood, cross-legged.  Four people stood around the car, glassy eyed and staring outward with vacant expressions.  She had her arms folded across her chest and a definite frown on.

Penny said "Not your fault, Victoria.  I'm frowning because I REALLY don't like doing what I'm doing.  They're victims of that pink gas.  If I wasn't controlling them, they'd be smashing more cars up."

Re: Derrton Mall

Ozzy nodded, "I hear that, Penny, and I'm glad you feel that way. I'm a big believer in free will myself, though I do admit that this is probably a good use of said power. I'm pretty sure the gas was taking away their wills, anyway. The mob inside was like a horde of freaking zombies. Even Gargoyle's full-on Demon form didn't make them blink. They just kept trying to swarm us. Luckily we held out long enough for Darklight and Erinyes to get rid of all the gas, at which point Erinyes started immobilizing and 'fixing' the victims."

Re: Derrton Mall

Penny nodded, and said "It doesn't so much take their wills away, as make it so that they don't have any mental brakes.  The thought happens, they DO it.  No thoughts to consequences or anything.  These four saw me, and were going to see if it was fun to trip a blind girl and see her fall down the stairs.   So I 'commandeered' their minds, and right now, my will is theirs.  They'll resume their original trains of thought once I let go."

Re: Derrton Mall

Ozzy shrugged, "Eh, same difference. They're crazy and are attacking stuff or jumping off of high stuff, like rabid lemmings. Long story short, you stopped them from hurting themselves or anybody else. Good job."

He started to look for Clarissa, wondering if they'd been fighting the cloud-zombies for so long that her cousins had made it back and taken her home.

Re: Derrton Mall

Ozzy nodded, smiling broadly as he saw Clarissa getting out of the car.

"Yep! One of the local heroes, Darklight, stopped by to help, too. Good thing, too. I dunno how we'd have gotten those canisters turned off without him. Are you okay? Things got pretty hairy in there for a minute. I'm just glad you weren't in there when the cloud-zombie horde got into full swing. It was freakin' brutal in there. Seriously, it was almost as bad as Hell. At least the demons knew when to give up."

Re: Derrton Mall

Ozzy returned the kiss as he wrapped his arms around her, holding her close.

"Yeah, it got kinda worrisome in there for a while. Fortunately, I don't think anyone got killed. And I know none of us did. Meg had to patch me up a bit, but eh. Nothing worse than bruises. Still, I'm fine now, the victims are all fixed up, and the cops have a sample of the gas courtesy of Meg. Crisis over, good guys win, he said with a confident smile, before his expression got more serious, "But, I'm just glad you were out here, safe. When I heard you scream, I... I'll be honest, I surprised myself a bit. The thought of those guys hurting you just... I just got up and started running without thinking about it. My mind didn't start formulating a plan of attack until I was about halfway there. Heh, I guess love can make you crazy in more ways than one."
