Hacha Lor:  Down the Chimney

Hacha Lor slithers down the tunnel, his eyes adjusting to the darkness and instantly compensating. It's a tight fit, but he's silent….A natural in the Shadows…..His ears pick up nothing, but his nose can't mistake the rank animal smels wafting upwards.

Coming to a natural ledge the brave stops and goes still, melding into the darkness as he observes the gloomy cave below.

Below him is a small chamber with two exits, one to the north and one to the south, he'd have to bend to get through both. There's also a niche below, under a boulder with a darker shape lying there, he'd have to get down to look....It's a drop of his own body height to the ground.

You can post OOC stuff here. just use Orange.

Re: Hacha Lor:  Down the Chimney

Hacha will watch the darker shape for signs of movement.
OOC: The darker shape is lying on the boulder above the niche, or lying in the niche?

Re: Hacha Lor:  Down the Chimney

Hacha's eyes are soon able to see that the shape is in fact human, but unmoving. Most likely dead. The brave begins to smell smoke and can hear Kobal shouting, presumably at the cave entrance.

OOC: It's lying in a small niche, below a boulder.

Re: Hacha Lor:  Down the Chimney

The space you are in is suddenly filled with choking smoke and followed by the sounds of combat from somewhere close by.

The sound is terrifying and loud.

CON x 5 roll please on 1d100. failure means you are coughing too much to do anything.

Re: Hacha Lor:  Down the Chimney

Hacha will call upon himself the constitution of a Bison. He'll then move quickly toward the sound of battle, broadsword in hand.
OOC: Vigor on self.

Re: Hacha Lor:  Down the Chimney

In reply to Hacha Lor (msg # 7):

Hacha Lor feels his flesh strengthen, blood thicken and bones become like bronze, as the spirit of his people takes hold, then dropping to the floor, sword slipping from it's hide scabbard with a satisfying shnik, the warrior crouches and rushes through the small opening towards the noise of combat....Smoke billowing out of the way as he goes....

As he passed the small niche, his feet caught on something heavy lying on the floor, a bag or satchel perhaps, it's contents spraying out on to the floor as he barrels past to aid his friends.....

I shall post you joining Kobal in a while, after the kids are off to sleep. What ever spilled on the floor made a strange clinking sound that you've never heard before (It's glass and metal but Hacha doesn't know that)

In reply to Hacha Lor (msg # 9):

Yes, no problem :) I'm happy for a bit of retcon so that you already cast spells whilst up on the ledge.

Re: Hacha Lor:  Down the Chimney

There's less smoke there now when Hacha returns to the small cave, and he finds the body in the niche with no problem. Even in his hurried state he can see that it's a man, desiccated and well preserved, wrapped in a cloak.

He'd have to come back with a light source to see more.

There on the floor is the satchel, which gets scooped up by the brave. Inside are several containers, not clay, but something cold to the touch. Perhaps that is what the spirit meant?

As he runs back out, a shower of small, flat objects fall out, cascading on to the floor noisily.....

Time for that later.
