Tip toe, through the forestÂ….

Wading through the knee high water Melock travels down the carved passageway, his torch picking out foliage full of animals and birds, fruit and what looks suspiciously like gems…

A good thirty metres from the door is a wall of sorts, waist high, the ground being dry on the other side.

The further the brave travels he notices that the bas reliefs are changing, the trees becoming twisted and gnarly, and the creatures inhabiting the branches feral and mean looking.

The air fills with a feeling of barely suppressed anger and the sound of weeping.

The passage stops and turns right, peering around Melock can see that the passage then stops at two massive Bronze doors ever so slightly ajar

Re:  Tip toe, through the forestÂ….

As he walks along, he looks in wonder at the carvings, he reaches out and almost touches one of the trees but stops his hand an inch or so from the surface. He then sees the shiney gem like carvings and his hand gets even closer to them cant touch, shouldn't touch, maybe on the way out. NO! but shiney and no one around, NO! he pulls his hand away from the carvings. As the animals start looking more feral the urge to touch them and try and take a gem or two subsides, the weeping and the feeling of amger further strengthens his resolve to look but not touch.
When he sees the bronze doors, he will look to see if they have any runes carved on them and then try and look through the gap to see what is on the other side, if it looks safe he'll try to open the doors

Re:  Tip toe, through the forestÂ….

The doors have the same images of a mighty warrior as the last, He stands fully armoured, axe in one hand a square shield in the other. On his head a helm with what looks like feathers attached to the top. About his feet lie his defeated enemies…Foul creatures of chaos. Two great Snakes stand on either side of him.

Runes of Earth and Mastery are much in evidence.

Peering through the crack, Melock nudges the door slightly, which moves effortlessly on what must be well oiled hinges.

A square room lies beyond, filled with jars, stone boxes and other half hidden things. It's pitch black, but his torch throws a line of light splitting the room in two.

Centre spot is a raised stone platform on which lies a slab of something metal. At the four corners are what might be pillars. It's too dark to see clearly.

Of more importance is the Earthen pillar that stands directly between where Melock is and the platform. From it comes the sound of weeping.

Re:  Tip toe, through the forestÂ….

that must be the guardian, better keep away from her, just in case this spell is not totally working he enters the room and  edges to his left. He'll work his way round the rooms edge looking for other exits, once hes done a complete loop, he'll approach the centre, keeping at least a spears length from the weeping pillar, and have a look, but he wont go into the square formed by the other pillars

Re:  Tip toe, through the forestÂ….

Giving the room a quick circuit Melock ends up next to the raised platform on the eastern side.

The room is large…Bigger than anything he has ever seen, obviously made by hand or magic. The walls are bare, unlike the other rooms of the ancient complex he's seen so far.

Around the edge of the room are stone caskets, boxes and jars, each one fitted with lids, sealed with a waxy substance. In the far North Western corner is a strange contraption, with two wheels, a flat base and a long pole at one end.

Drawing close to the platform, he can see that the massive copper, square slab looks like a lid. It's surface is covered with intricate engravings and reliefs. The centre being what looks like a large male face. The four poles look like massive snakes standing on their tails.

Re:  Tip toe, through the forestÂ….

Throughout the investigation the weeping continues.

Melock can see that the Earth pillar is vaguely human in shape.

Wide hipped.

The hint of a bust.

Voluptuous.

Topped by a squarish head.

It radiates a feeling of Don't mess with me…I'm having a bad day.

Re:  Tip toe, through the forestÂ….

As he looks around, he only gives the sealed jars a quick look, he's seen such things before. The flat thing with bits on the side that are the same shape as Bright Treasure attracts his interest, though he cant work out what its for. very strange, maybe Hoskar will know what its for, he's not from round here as he's about to approach the centre of the room, he glances towards the weeping pillar and notices there is an alcove next to the door he didnt move. He walks over for a closer look and realises that the statue that Hoskar found will slot in there now I know where it goes, the question is do we want to put it there? at least when everyone else comes here we wont have to deal with the guardian he then approaches the engraved slab I wonder if those snake poles fit somewhere to lift it?

Re:  Tip toe, through the forestÂ….

After discovering the statuette niche, Melock re examines the four snake poles and sees that there are four holes in the Copper cover that they probably fit in.

Ten minutes have passed since leaving the others…..Five left before his protection ends.

Re:  Tip toe, through the forestÂ….

he takes a last look round the room, that strange thing in the corner still puzzles him, then heads quickly back down the corridor, not worrying about the noise he's making, to let everyone know what's down here
