Re: OOC number Ten

In reply to Amara Brightsky (msg # 15):

Are there any friendly or neutral sable clans? Now its not a war party maybe we should let them pass if they're not clear enemies.

Also with RQ combat  a few due rolls that are unfavorable could easily mean a dead character.

Re: OOC number Ten

The other thing I would be worried about at this point is the Sables actually seeing the Rangers and us losing the advantage of surprise.

Then we get creamed.

We may have moved too far along IC to pull out now...

You can avoid an ambush. Say the word IC.

They are making too much noise to hear anything if whispered.

Are they an enemy tribe?
If they are then we're likely to go ahead anyway

They are all enemies really. Same Clan as your hostage.

[...]

He'll try to incapacitate as quickly as possible but not kill if they are no longer a threat.

He'll take prisoner(s) if they surrender or offer ransom and keep Hoskar away if they do!

Prepare to be surprised :)

My weapons are obvious: I only have sword and shield with me, and before that it's Disrupts and/or thrown rocks; these being my only viable ranged weapons. I'm not going to try any risky jumps, but will get down to close with ye Sables by whatever means seems most expedient if we do attack (which, as previously stated, I'm not in the least gung-ho about).

Re: OOC number Ten

I'm going to wait for someone to start the attack. If no one does they will walk on by.

I think it's a good time to think about why you are attacking.

Revenge?

Loot-a-mania?

Just because?

Or because you're hardened killers of the plains?

Yes, they are Sable Riders who sided with the Lunars to drive us out of Prax into the Wastes.
Of course we sided with the Lunars to murder other Lunar old men and boys and Amara sought and accepted powerful Lunar magic... but we won’t mention that

Loot-a-mania?
Yep, mounts, slaves, mounts, goods, mounts. Did I say mounts? Fed up of walking.

Just because?
It’s the Nomad way, practiced and ingrained for generations. It the tables were reversed it’s exactly what the Sables would do.

Or because you're hardened killers of the plains?
Getting there, but not indiscriminate, killers of enemies Don’t mention the Black Eel folk again whatever you do!

Re: OOC number Ten

In reply to GM (msg # 30):

Akala's reasons for attacking are:

1) It seems to be what the group aims to do. He's new here.  He is getting the lay on the land, and he is used to fighting on orders.

2) Sables. Sables that turned coat at Moonbroth and were at least partially responsible for the death of his father.so, he's not gonna lose sleep over attacking some Sables.

3) he wants to prove himself in battle to the group. This is less is a priority however, as he is aware the opportunity is likely to arise sooner or later.

Re: OOC number Ten

I've really thought that we're better off letting them pass by as this fight won't really serve any purpose

Going into a fight in RQ with no armour is a very bad idea.

Re: OOC number Ten

Well it looks like they'll be riding past. That's not a bad thing.

You'll remember individual names of braves if it's ever important that you do. They can be made up on the spot then.

Careful now. I wot that wot I speak of here and that's a bad road to ride down. ;)

I will of course join in the attack Melock starts when I see we're going for it.

Are you leaping or sliding down and attacking from the ground? Attacking the Sable or Rider.
