Remember that the Bride price stays with the wife, becoming the start of the family's herd.

So Melock isn't losing anything.

You lot own Sables and there are High Llama and Impala outside that can be traded for with some of your loot.

Melock:
The Earth Witch implies that we don't have to kill them, just get them to leave the area, so does that mean they aren't chaotic? If so then, as Ohanzee suggested, there may be a way to clean them up, though I think it'll take something stronger than sheep dip :)

Ohanzee Shappa:
How about a HQ to bring  the harpies back to the good side, more brides for you Melock :P

So is everyone finished here, apart from Melock that is.

Preparations can be made for the coming trip, sleep and then go see what the Red Thorns are after.

It will be obvious and well known that you are know serving the Earth Temple.

Re: OOC Wastes Eleven

Here is a good place to trade some of your goods for herd beasts.

There are plenty of Bison, High Llamas, Impalas, Sables, Gern and Zebras owned between the various visitors and Red Thorns, who despite rivalries will trade.

Before Bargaining:
Meat beasts for the road
Bison 50L (30)
High Llama 30L (3)
Impala 5L (45)
Zebra 45L (5)
Gern 6L (10)
Sable 15L (30)

Riding Beasts (won't fight)
Bison 80L (10)
High Llama 55L (5)
Impala 10L (20)

War Beasts
High LLama 165L (2)
Gern (1) 45L

Re: OOC Wastes Eleven

Speaking of trade, how much to make sure that we are adequately prepared this time? I don't want to leave anything to chance after how dicey things got during that storm. So here's a shopping list of stuff that occurs to me now:

-I wanna make sure that we have medicines for poison, maybe even a slave that has knowledge of herbal healing?
-gear for climbing
-enough provisions and definitely water.
-camping supplies
-torches

We should also make sure that we beseech and sacrifice to the appropriate spirits for aid, of course:

-For example, Cowpecker might help us to notice enemy ambushes (I don't mean to actually teach us the spell, just give us a little help)
-Huuruahu might be able to help us see far and could, perhaps, give us advice about spirits in that area?

Okay :)

Tarnessh Listens-To-Silence:

I will put the word out...

What type of poison?
There's
Blade venom
Manticore venom (scorpions)
Poison gas
Wyvern venom (snakes)
Spider venom
Herbal poison
Mineral poison.

Tarnessh Listens-To-Silence:
-gear for climbing

You lot have one 50m length and a 10m length in your general stores. Certain PC's have there own rope. Henal I know has 20m for example.

There's an extra 80m spare that you lot can buy from the other nomads
Tarnessh Listens-To-Silence:

You have camping gear, you'll be able to scrounge torches for the expedition so you don't run out, you'll get given trail food by the temple, enough for two weeks. Water will be a problem. You can get some from Hoofcrack and look for other sources on the way. There's really good grazing in the Twixt grasslands.

The water from the pools is drinkable by humans, though herd beasts will refuse it. It tastes disgusting.

That's for you lot to instigate IC. The morning before the parley would be good. The Rhinos amongst you have a small flock of Horn peckers. You ask the temple to call some for your Bison.

Re: OOC Wastes Eleven

Salen has one dose of Blade Venom and some rope, but the rope has been on my sheet from the beginning, so length isn't listed - I'd assume 20m?

And GM, will Salen have time to brew up those two Goyo tubers he found lately into more Blade Venom?

Re: OOC Wastes Eleven

I've collected every waterskin I can lay my hands on at every loot opportunity IC so far; and I intend to fill the lot before we go.

In terms of trade, my shopping/selling list runs:

I think Scorpion antidote is a "must" given our recent experiences and them being not-unchommon chaotics.

Akala - are you still looking for a Bastard Sword now that you've got that Badass Greatword?

If I get to hear of any blokes in...ahem...relevant difficulties, I'd love to shift those Ulerian texts - they're getting to be a total Albatross round the neck and I really don't want them to still be in my stock if and when I ever get back to Pavis and into mum's trading zone.

Any of those tribesmen/women use the Staff Sling as a weapon? I still have a techniques scroll we can none of us use, and might as well trade it for something we want.

Unless any of the Rangers wants the metal full helm, I wouldn't mind swapping it with someone we meet for a metal open helm - being that enclosed isn't Condor's style.

If I get a trading surplus or anyone else does, we're out of Healing 6, and a Ranger is almost bound to need it on our mission - we always do when we go fighting sooner or later.

Re: OOC Wastes Eleven

@Salen yes youhave plenty time. Rope is 20m.

If folk list what they want i will add it all up and let you know what it is worth and what items you have that will cover the cost.

Someone else could marry Shade.

@ Hoskar,  sorry no one reads
I will use the Ulerian pics as a trade item.

So far:
Antidotes: manticore.
Slave healer
Healing potions
Healing herbs?
Extra water skins
Kumiss?

You want to buy herd beasts? Having a communal herd back at the clan would demonstrate your wealth. Not as cool as raiding them.

It would be wise to bring some meat beasts for food.

Re: OOC Wastes Eleven

I'd like a javelin holder and some different varieties of alcohol or khumiss.
We should totally get Kobal to marry her, he's a decent sort and it would show the red thorns we're serious, unlike that half baked attempt by Melock to promise to marry and renege.

If there's another multimissile matrix around I'd really like to have one for the javelins.

And specifically any harpy antidote and I'd look around the camp to see if anyone has dealt with harpies before.

I'm also pragmatic enough to marry a red thorn if it's needed to help Ohanzee out.

Re: OOC Wastes Eleven

Kobal would be a great catch for anyone, but he's also an heir to his tribe, so marrying someone without telling his family or the tribal leadership at all could have real bad political ramifications *coughcough*RedWedding*cough*

I think we should get some meat beasts. We don't need to buy herd beasts to bring home now, since I assume that we're going to come back here anyway. What I think WOULD really come in handy is a Light matrix, at least until Tarnessh gets an opportunity to learn the spell himself.

Also, I can do the talking in the parley. I assume that if the Sun Hawk is present but NOT talking, they might be suspicious why they would need the guy who can only tell the truth to stay quiet, right?

Re: OOC Wastes Eleven

One healing 6 potion
There are 28 pts of healing herbs.
NIne healing mushrooms (each 1d4 pts healing)
There are two Manticore antidotes both 10pts
There are four snake venom antidotes each 6pts
= The Earth Temple will take two of the large Copper Ox hides (from the corflu trader), 2 sacks of pumpkin seeds and a cup of pepper.

There is no healing slave nor healer who wishes to accompany the Rangers.

Whispers could join you though she’d have to follow the next day.

There is a Multimissile Matrix 2 that an old impala brave will sell for one sable bronze scimitar, all of the bronze utensils taken from the sable wedding party, the Ulerian pictures, and the meaty smelling potion found on the scorpions. That’s after a successful bargain roll from Hoskar.

80m rope will swap for the 4 silk scarves and some of the mudshark teeth

Enough Bison Kumiss for the journey=  63 marmot skins, 4 hide shields, 4 bone lances 5 well made wool tunics.

@Hoskar.The herd beasts cost 130lunars. You can use some of your trade goods or I will take it off the groups goods in bits and bobs.

Happy to have it taken off the goods. Can some of it come from throwing in my "spare" cuirboilli cuirass that no Ranger seems to want? Or are any of our new NPC members SIZ 14ish and short of one?

You know I bet Melocks going to promise to get married just to get Ohanzee free and then weasel out on it which is going to make things worse between our clans.

And just imagine the fuss that Pastures will raise if he gets married to someone else.

Thanks for not saying that IC :) He was mainly hoping to get an invite with a guarantee of safe passage and then rescue Ohanzee, with the added bonus of if he managed it, then I'm sure it would have impressed Shades dad.

I think we should get the Combat Gern, that way if they do kill Ohanzee, Whispers could summon his spirit back and put him in the gern's body :)

I don't think giving water from Hoofcrack to the mounts is a good idea, wont they get ill?

Did Delenda take Melocks axe for the ritual entrance?

Lol re the Gern.

I think bringing your mounts in to Hoofcrack is the problem. The actual water is okay, it's just the mud rots the hooves etc. So you'll need containers. Don't you have a barrel from the Tower?

You got the axe back.
