Re: IC: Gathering of Realms

Ashara turned to Ser Edric. "Please excuse us for a moment, Ser, Lord Dondarrion is calling." She walked gracefully to the central table. She spared a glance for her uncle and Bron to see if they were on edge. She didn't expect any trouble, but if there was any Bron and Ser Hassan would be the first ones to notice.
She smiled at the two Dondarrion lords. "I thank you for your hospitality and kindness, my lords. May the Seven bless you" she said cheerfully. She partook in the guest right..

In reply to Ashara Kolwyn (msg # 154):

"The Beauty of Dorne has graced us," as 'Old Lord Dondarrion' smiles, "Aaahsh, .... if only I was 50 years younger." once every have tasted the salt and broken bread Cariel belts out "Good!, .... now that formalities are over lets eat and drink."

As everyone, one by one, clears and walks away from the table Cariel approaches the Dorne houses "I understand House Fell has already left their fortress and travels to meet you at Ridgewood to escort you to Kings Landing. So this seems to be the last night with us. I have much to talk about with the nobles of Dorne. I hope you will make time to discuss important matter after the feast"

In reply to Ashara Kolwyn (msg # 154):

Bron smiled and nodded at Ashara as she looked over at him. He did not care what her uncle thought. He was suppose to give her confidence in her safety. It was then he heard one of the more thuggish guards behind him snicker. "They have you on a short leash, don't they? Do you do tricks too?" He turned, and saw the group of four snickering at him.

Across the courtyard, on top of the roof, Sundancer peered through the window at the party. It let off a shriek, and flared its wings. Its eyes trained on Bron even now.

Bron narrowed his eyes. "I know a bunch of tricks. Here's one..." He held forth the metal cup in his hand. He proceeded hold the sides of it with one hand, and he grit his teeth as he flexed his fingers. The guard's experssion of contempt quickly changed to alarm as the cup was bent by Bron's fingers. "Oh...silly me. I broke my cup. My iron cup. How clumsy." Bron said, sounding very insincere. He gave the ruined cup to the man-his fingers imprinted into the side of its collapsed structure.

"Now I have to get a new one..." He proceeded to do so, and the four seemed to find themselves something else to do. Just as well as Bron could not do what he really wanted to do to them.

Re: IC: Gathering of Realms

Mathys decided that being alone was no solution, for the  disgust he felt for this shame being played out in the Great Hall. He would as soon light the place on fire, and let the flame have the men and women of Dorne. So, Mathys decided to have some diversion, with one of the serving women of the place. He would seek to find a suitable wench, that was pleasing to the eyes and attempt to get her into a closet or some other out of the way place, to have sport with her. The Knight would offer her a few coins for her time. If he could not fight, he would fuck, his  current ill temper away.

Mathys could tell that the small folk whore, was afraid of him. He was in such a black mood currently, he really did not care. He held the coins for the woman's inspection. "Look here, girl, I am looking for some sport, but wont take a woman against her will. However, if you do not accept the money, and bend yourself over a barrel and lift your skirt, I shall be very displeased. And by the Seven, you do not want me displeased. Now what is it going to be?" He took her hand and dropped the coins into her palm one at a time, then closed her fingers over them. He then smiled to her.]

Re: IC: Gathering of Realms

The young woman presses her back against the wall dropping the win and spilling it across the floor. Sweat beads over her forhead, "M'lord, please, Lord Dondarrion wouldn't like it." she said averting her gaze from him, it was obvious she didn't want him and in fact was quite terrified. This struck a Chord with Mathys, what if the lord did find out...

Re: IC: Gathering of Realms

He snorted in disgust,at the girls reaction." You little nothing. you should feel honored that I even would pay any attention to you. Just as well, I might get fleas and far worse from having you. Get out of my sight." He grabbed her by the arm and shoved her away.

This day was just getting worse and worse, he turned and just staring walking down corridors of the castle, not really caring where he ended up. Since the war ended, Mathys had felt he belonged no where, and did not fit in anywhere. He missed the excitement of thrill of battle. His music was the sounds of steel clashing, and the cries of men locked in a life and death struggle. Everything else paled by comparriion. Indeed, his was a soul adrift in the world he did not understand, nor wish to dwell in. Perhaps he would get drunk, he tought.

Re: IC: Gathering of Realms

As Mathys walked down winding corridors, he passed various servants who were going about their duties. Set of armor from lords gone by and various other accouterments that took up their house. But eventually the knight found himself on a balcony when a dark haired man stood leaning out and over the edge. Apparently seeking to leave the audience of the great hall as well.

When he stepped out onto the Balcony, Mathys just leaned on the railing and stared out into nothingness. He watched the other man out of the corner of his eye, and almost decided to ignore the other, but for some reason he spoke to him. " Come here for the view?"

"Something along those lines," the dark haired man said as he turned to face the knight before him. "The intrigues of court arn't exactly my favored field of battle, you?" his accent was heavily Dornish and in fact Mathys recognized him from the hall and knew his reputation. "I am Hassan."

Mathys turned to face the man,a man of Dorne, but one that perhaps had the same distaste for politics and courtly manners,as he did. " We seem to agree on something. I am Mathys." He looked hard as the Viper, but then  it softened, but just.

"Of house," he stared at the crest for a moment before saying "Ashfield yes?" When Mathys looked at the man he seemed at peace, not nearly the bloodthirsty barbarian the North had painted him to be in battle. "These sort of things are more my Wife's Forte, she always could work a room as they say, Are you married friend?" he asked curiously making small talk.

"Yes, I am Ser Mathys of House Ashfield, and you are Ser Hassen of House Ravenhowe." Mathys spoke in a matter of fact tone. " We are hardly friends,Ser Hassen. Until recently, we would have met upon the field of honor, instead of a balcony. More is the pity, that we did not encounter each other in the war. It would have been glorious." Mathys sighed and looked out at the view again.

Re: IC: Gathering of Realms

Ashara blushed prettily at the old Lord's compliment. She knew she'd probably take some teasing from Cyra and Fatimah for it.
Ashara returned to her table and sipped her wine slowly; it would be a very big mistake to get drunk here. She nodded to Lord Cariel and said "I'm sorry to hear we will only enjoy your company for one more night, my lord. You have been most kind to us. After the feast we would be pleased to speak to you on whatever matters you wish."
She returned Bron's smile, happy to know things were okay. Her uncle had slipped out, which was hardly courteous of him. But at least he didn't seem worried about her and Bron at the moment.

Ser Edric made his way to the center table where bread and salt were being offered. Taking a position next the Aislin Ravenhowe.  Edric raised his goblet as the Lords made their toast. After the ceremony was done, he returned to the Reach side of the hall where he remained. it seemed that his kin didn't take to kindly to his socialization and didn't wish to anger them farther.

"The warrior is a fine aspect to uphold," he said as he took a sip from his skin of wine. "But do not let it cloud you from the others," he nodded his head. "I see you in there, hot headed and angry at me, and at my people. It was not our choice to go to war, it was your king's our Princess offered an Alliance to which your now dead king saw fit to refuse. It is said that the six kingdom's lost over one hundred thousand men taking Dorne and another fifty trying to hold it. So tell me, was it worth refusing the olive branch? You're not the only one who lost family and friends." Hassan spoke with a calm demeanor.

Re: IC: Gathering of Realms

Matheys regarded Hassen with  an annoyed expression. "What would you have me say? I did not start the war, I did not end the war, but peace has broken out upon the land like some plague. It infects everyone and everything. My family and someone I thought a friend act as if it never happened. They chatter and act like all those lives you bespoke, where never ended. One would think this was nothing more then some social gathering for a birthing day, or wedding feast." He slapped his hand upon the  the balcony railing.

Mathys then looked away, and then back to Hassen." I was forged and tempered in the fires of that war. I embrace the Warrior, for that is what I am. It is what I am meant to do in  his world. Think me a fool,if you so wish,Knight of Dorne, but I miss battle, like a starving man misses bread. You are wrong, I do not hate your people, I respect them was worthy opponents in battle. What I hate is that they stopped fighting and now embrace the plague of peace as much as my own people." Mathys had no idea why he was telling a stranger, and a Viper what had vexed him these many weeks, but the words had poured out like a river.

" Now think me mad, or one to be mocked. " He made a nod of respect from one equal to another, then turned and left the balcony not waiting or wanting the other man's reaction. The truth was, Mathys did not even understand his feelings currently.

In reply to Ser Mathys Ashfield (msg # 177):

"Then perhaps you should consider joining a mercenary company in Essos if you are that determined to be in constant war," he said simply to the man. "A true warrior knows there is a time when he must set his sword aside for other purposes, I suggest you learn to embrace that or you will be your own undoing."
