"Sure, I'll stand still."  Ario agreed in his stony monotone.  As promised, he stood where he was.  He made as if to kick Bruhli in the shin, but instead punched him in the face, disorienting him.  "Just kidding!" Ario announced, stepping gently over the edge, and allowing himself to fall.  While the fall looked graceful, there was still a sickening thud at the bottom, where Ario lay flat.

ROUND: Round 2 (23)
POSITION: F4
ACTIONS: Hold bow in one hand (free), Feint (Move), Punch Bruhli in the jaw (standard), 5' step off the ledge (free)

 HP: 55/66 (6 nonlethal)
 AC: 23; FFAC: 17; Touch: 17

EFFECTS: Prone

   USES: Spell like ability (3/3)

DICE ROLLS:
(feint roll in previous post)
09:43, Today: Ario rolled 22 using 1d20+10 with rolls of 12. Face punching!
09:48, Today: Ario rolled 8,36 using 1d3+6,6d6+12 with rolls of 2,6,4,3,5,3,3. Punch damage, Sneak attack damage (all nonlethal).
10:04, Wed 22 July 2015: Ario rolled 23 using 1d20+15 ((8)).
10:05, Today: Ario rolled 1,22 using 1d6,6d6 with rolls of 1,6,2,4,3,2,5. Fall damage - nonlethal, lethal. Fall damage is per 10', not per 5' square
10:09, Today: Ario rolled 6,11 using 1d6,2d6 with rolls of 6,6,5. Corrected fall damage - Nonlethal, Lethal.

SUMMARY:  Ario feints, and punches Bruhli in the jaw. Then falls to the ground below.

ooc: 44 nonlethal damage, -4 to attacks until the start of Ario's next turn. (debilitating injury)
In 4th ed, healing would clear all nonlethal then heal your lethal.  In Pathfinder, it just heals an equal amount of lethal and nonlethal.

Re: Duel #171: Ario vs. Bruhli

OOC: Your 5ft step constitutes an intended jump. This takes a move action and cannot be completed in a 5ft step. By falling more than 5ft, you are in a sense giving yourself extra movement. By intentionally falling more than 5ft, it takes up more of your movement. The GMs already ruled, I believe, that you cannot intentionally jump or fall as a free action.

You already used up your move and standard action for that round, as such, I am going to argue that you cannot then take a 5ft step off the edge.

Re: Duel #171: Ario vs. Bruhli

I'm going to be off for 24-48 hours (moving 600ish miles with my family), and my internet cuts out in 20 minutes (give or take a few minutes at the ISP).  So, if you don't mind waiting for an official word (as it sounds like a ruling that would happen but I've never seen it), I'd appreciate it.  If the ruling you mention is not upheld by the GM, Ario will stay where he is, prone and damaged.  If it is upheld, Ario will stay in F5 and end his turn (not prone, no damage)

Re: Duel #171: Ario vs. Bruhli

OOC: Correct. 5-foot stepping off a ledge does NOT constitute an intentional jump because it doesn't consume your movement. So you take full lethal falling damage -1d6 for a successful Acrobatics check. Considering at higher levels when you have lots of HP this is essentially free movement down, it's just one of the many strange and nonsensible issues with the game itself. Like +20 Stealth for invisibility but not vs. blinded creatures. *eye roll*

Bruhli sees the fist coming, but the rogue manages to leave an opening in his attack allowing Bruhli to sunder the gauntlet fist. Bruhli was on his last leg but he still yelled "STAND UP AND FIGHT ME!!!!"

ROUND: Round 3 (7)
POSITION: G3
ACTIONS: Sunder (AOO)

22:32, Today: Bruhli rolled 20,6 using 2d6+13,1d6 with rolls of 3,4,6. Sunder.

22:31, Today: Bruhli rolled 27 using 1d20+17 with rolls of 10. AOO, sunder v. gauntlet.

OOC: I assumed you were attacking with the gauntlet because otherwise, I'm not sure how you would have a +10 to attack with an unarmed strike while prone. If it's all good then I am likely unconscious.

Re: Duel #171: Ario vs. Bruhli

ooc:  I missed that you were saying that the jumping attack used only a move action and had stood on your last turn when I had said it was okay, and had offset the +4 and -4 for prone combat.  I already said it was okay, though, so I'll leave it at that and waive the AOO I should have taken.
So, Ario's attack should be at a -4.  He was swinging at Bruhli without the gauntlet, as otherwise there would have been no attack of opportunity.  You can shift your rolled attack and damage to be on Ario or reroll it for attacking Ario as you please.

SUMMARY: Feint and attack.

On Bruhli's turn the attack of opportunity does 9 damage.  Bruhli has an opportunity attack against a correctly rolled (with prone penalty) unarmed attack for nonlethal.  Bruhli then takes 8 nonlethal (or 43 if 18 gets his 10+wis+bab).  If he is still conscious (and takes the sneak attack damage), it's -4 to attacks.

That would do Ario in, but I think you've taken 3 attacks of opportunity in 2 rounds.  (One during Ario's round two, One during Bruhli's round two, One during Ario's Turn three.) If you have combat reflexes, Ario gets sliced and diced, and loses.  If not, I think it's Bruhli that goes down for the count - super close game either way.
