Re: Duel #181: Ankou vs. Edward Doyle Remington

very true regarding bane ! I somehow though it was minutes/level... I updated my uses.

The Ankou was bit and stung by the wasps, and so was Rex. They both felt sick and almost puked on the spot... They jumped into the water and supposedly out of reach...

I'm not sure that the water does, but the swarm is at +1, while they're below that level now.

As the wasps buzz away, Edward downs another extract, and a faint shimmering appears in front of him.

sorry for the delay! Seems logical that they would just hang there until you give them an other command

The Ankou was still swimming, more or less comfortable in his armour. As was Rex.

The Ankou slowly came closer to the island, while Rex pushed through the swarm and onto the island. His reflexes were hampered by the poison, but at least he was not nauseated...

Oh well, I fail.

And no, they don't move because they don't move if there is a living creature in their square.

Also it would result in them trying to go underwater, and I'm not sure if that works or not.  Hmm.

Re: Duel #181: Ankou vs. Edward Doyle Remington

Actually, question: can you cast that as a standard action?  Spells affected by metamagic usually take a full round to cast for spontaneous casters.  You may have the feat that allows you to get around it or be using some other ability, but I wanted to check.

I'm using a Rod now (a lot cheaper than the multiple feats and traits required to achieve the same effect)

Re: Duel #181: Ankou vs. Edward Doyle Remington

The Ankou slowly came closer to the island. Rex was still bugged by the wasp swarm gnawing at his tail, but he found strength to shrug off the nasty poison and sickening distraction they present.

From the water, the Ankou raised his rod, pointed it at the immobilized investigator. "Kill," he commanded the Tyrannosaur.

The massive beast had been waiting for that moment. He had swam across the seas and jumped through the archipelago to get to the elusive (and heavily mutated) half-orc. He raised his neck in the air, fluffed his feathers in an ominous display of strength, and roared as the huge maw and wicked teeth fell on Edward.

Rex bit his head off, clean and simple.

Don't you have to have drawn the rod to use it?

My rod has been drawn for a while (see prep round)
I actually had to drop my scythe to have a free hand to cast... now it lies at the bottom of the ocean.

Is that a success then? If so you're up.

I wasn't sure so I double checked :

Duel #181: Ankou vs. Edward Doyle Remington

The Ankou was surprised. Despite the horrendous injury Edward had just been inflicted, he still somehow lived!
The shrouded man repeated his command: "Kill."

Rex this time left no leeway, and his vicious maw severed Eward's head from the rest of his body. The wasps were still bugging, but they were little more than an annoyance.
