"Dire Lion"

I read over the post a hand full of time to make sure had things right, guess I was more focussed on stats.  Needs changed in flavor to ugh *face palm* sorry, going to bed posting tired is a bad thing.

OOC: Grunyar, I think the dire lion only gets the grab on the bite. Also, no worries on the DR. I'll calculate, as DR can increase or decrease. I'm not saying I have anything like that, but I could. :P

Bruhli was able to resist some of the lion’s damage, but it truly had formidable strength. That said, Bruhli was no easy meat. “FIGHTING A LION IN THE ARENA IS TRULY CLASSIC!!!” That said, Bruhli wasn’t here for the lion. He was here for Grunyar, to break him like a crispy taco. Bruhli attempted to sunder the lion, but it didn’t work. As a consolation prize, he attacked one of the Agashes, making it question its place in life.

Re: Duel #183: Bruhli vs. Grunyar

OOC: I always thought it was a free action to draw spell components. Also, from watching other fights, it appears it's just a free action. So, seems good to me. Granted, you don't have an unlimited number of free actions. But, from looking at your post, I think your good.

The ghostly hands bewildered Bruhli. “GAH” He swung at them angrily. Bruhli felt his agility lessen as the curse took hold. He was never agile, so that didn’t affect him. But it pissed him off when he felt his internal stamina weaken. “GRUNYAR!!! YOU COWARDLY TACTICS WILL NOT AVAIL YOU!!! YOU’RE THE BIGGEST COWARD I’VE EVER MET!! YOU SUMMON OTHERS TO FIGHT FOR YOU!! AND THOSE YOU SUMMON, SUMMON GHOSTLY HANDS TO ATTACK FOR THEM!!! WHAT IS THIS NONSENSE?????” Bruhli was going to get a fight out of someone. Apparently, it had to be the lion. Bruhil gripped his sword despite Grunyars tactic and sent the lion back to wherever it came from. Bruhli didn’t know. Bruhli didn’t care. Bruhli was a barbarian. Bruhli then hits Grunyar with two attacks.

Re: Duel #183: Bruhli vs. Grunyar

OOC: I don't know if that math works, however with the new change to the hero point rules you can use it to get an extra standard action during your turn so you would just have hero point first activate shirt, move full round attack on me, just my thoughts. So thats all good.

I do have a question on your AC is it still 12 or should it be 9 beings you lost 6 dex?  Maybe I have been misreading the "(-5 to ac's only)" am I suppose to subtract the 5 from the ac's on those lines?

And last the total skip over of the reflex save, was spell gobbled up by an item I'm sure there was some effect as to why spell fizzled?

Re: Duel #183: Bruhli vs. Grunyar

OOC: Hey, the -5 is to the 12. So my AC is actually 7. I can always calculate it out instead of keeping the numbers on the side. Whichever, works best for you.

Whoops! Here is the reflex save:

21:37, Yesterday: Bruhli rolled 22 using 1d20+7 with rolls of 15.  Reflex Save v. Grease.

I rolled it yesterday, I just didn't add it to the round post.

Bruhli grins. “Ha! Summons more creatures to fight for him!” Grunyar was not a warrior. But, he was a good fighter. The ghostly hands once again swirled around. They managed to hit him. “GAAHHH!!!” And then then out of the corner of his eyes he saw a new foe emerge. The mud creature swung at the barbarian, two missed. Two hit. The two hit were enough. Mud oozed from the creature and stuck to Bruhli. “WHAT IS THIS!!?” Bruhli turned just in time to see the Grunyar disappear from sight. This was it for Bruhli. He knew it. Everyone probably knew it. And this made him angry. Was he going to fall helpless and trapped like some domesticated beast? Or would he go out the warrior he knew himself to be? Gathering his rage, Bruhli stared at his opponents getting angrier. He then pressed against his bonds and felt them begin to burst, and then with a final push he shattered his prison, pieces of mud flying everywhere “GRUNYAR!!!!”

DICE ROLLS: -  20:11, Today: Bruhli rolled 9,15,24,27 using d20+8,d20+8,d20+8-4,d20+8-4 with rolls of 1,7,16,19.  Will Save 1,2,3,4.
- 21:30, Today: Bruhli rolled 15 using 1d20+10 with rolls of 5.  Fort Save 2 v. Mud monster.
21:29, Today: Bruhli rolled 17 using 1d20+10 with rolls of 7.  Fort Save 1 v. Mud monster.
- 21:36, Today: Bruhli rolled 27 using 1d20+8 with rolls of 19.  Strength check.

SUMMARY: - Passed last two saves. Failed first two. Sorry about the rolling. I just rolled them all. Even with the negatives to the modifier, I still pass the second saves. I’ll reroll the saves, but seeing as I failed both fort saves as well, I don’t think it really matters :)

OOC:  Yeah, it looks like you rolled 1’s too. I guess it’s not just me. Lol. In a weird sort of way, I think this fight has shown me all of this character’s weaknesses. I thank you.  Are you sure you don’t want to curse my charisma? :P I think and hope I did everything correctly, if not, just let me know.

SUMMARY: - Agash a4 misses spectral hand is in I5, rest hit need 3 Will DC 16, 1st & 2nd are -4 penalty on attack rolls, saves, ability checks, and skill checks, 3rd is Each turn, the target has a 50% chance to act normally; otherwise, it takes no action.
Grunyar summons Large Mud Elemental, Dire Lion is unable to act,Large Mud Elemental (m1) holds action), Large Mud Elemental (m2) hits for slam 1 14 damage, slam 2 15 damage, need 2 Fort saves DC 19 or be entrapped (one fail entangled both fail helpless, Str check as a full round action to free entangled DC 19, Helpless DC 24)

OOC: - all looks ok except the negetives you put into the saves should be a -6 it doesn't effect anything and I can't have two curses active on the same thing 1 & 2 last round and this round are the same but only one can be active so if you fail first save no need to do the second they do not stack so you are only -12 Wis instead of -18.  M1 is waiting to either attack or coup de grace will finish turn once fort saves are resolved. The pull from m1 and push from m2 are free with a successful slam natural type attack.

Re: Duel #183: Bruhli vs. Grunyar

OOC: SLA requires no verbal component, so no -20 for speaking

quote:
Usually, a spell-like ability works just like the spell of that name. A spell-like ability has no verbal, somatic, or material component, nor does it require a focus. The user activates it mentally. Armor never affects a spell-like ability's use, even if the ability resembles an arcane spell with a somatic component.
