Ryan, still chuckling a little, pointed straight at the mist.

"Right there. I'm not actually sure how to damage him when he's in that form anyway. I'm sure it can be done, but I'm not sure if it can be done by Cliaths."

Re: The War Begins

Hemlock commands (using Obedience);

"All of you WILL stand down NOW!!. I and the Elders will speak with this cadaver."

(11:53, Wed 29 Oct 2014: Storyteller, for the NPC Hemlock, rolled 7 successes using 8d10 with the World of Darkness 3rd ed, Specialised system with a target of 8, rerolling 10s ((10(+10,8),3,10(+10,9),9,1,8,5,7)).)

He stares at everybody daring anybody to challenge his authority.

Once everyone has calmed down a little Anthius, Floats to the ground once again becoming flesh and blood. He addresses the elders.

"All the Kindred in my city have gone hysterical over the
recent attacks on their hunting ground. I know you are not
responsible and I know that the Fanum has fallen.

I am of Clan Gangrel, and I tell you we will not fight you.
The Gangrel of Chicago will notfight this war. My clanmates
will neither help you kill our own kind, nor defend our brothers
and sisters from your assaults."

Anthius holds his left hand up, palm out, and turns his hand into a claw using Protean; he then grasps his left wrist with his right hand.

"Gangrel will give you this sign to show neutrality. They will mark their havens with a drawing of this symbol."

Upon uttering his final words, Anthius turns into a mist. He floats off into the distance.

Hemlock and the Elders discuss this for a short time but are soon all in agreement, that the truce with the Gangrel shall be upheld. Hemlock turns to you all, making it clear to both your selves and Thor's Hammers that the truce is in effect.

You all then return to the Raccoon ring to get what little sleep you can before your receive your assignments in the morning.

Shortly after dawn, the leaders for the upcoming battle are chosen. One from each pack that participates in the war including Ryan from yours. They gather together and make the final adjustment to the plans in a giant tent.

(This method was decided upon by the Old Ones who feared the Get of Fenris and Shadow Lords would assume control if it was not handled in such a manner.)

[Private to Ryan Fox: There is little planning to be handled,
and some minor changes are made as necessary. A plan is developed
by the best warriors and strategists among the Garou. Due to your
rank your input is minimal but you are present at the meeting.

The Garou legions are divided into two main forces:

Team Alpha

Seventy-eight Garou are to march that night on the
Wyrmhole. The Garou charged with this duty are to ambush
the Black Spirals and slaughter them so they cannot warn the
Chicago Black Spirals or Leeches . This action will hopefully
prevent the Black Spirals from traveling all over the country to
collect reinforcements, like the Garou themselves did. After
the battle with the Black Spirals, this part of the Garou force is
to travel as quickly as possible to Chicago to aid Team Silver
and retake the Fanum.

Team Silver

Sixty-two Garou will go straight to Chicago and attack the
Leeches in their havens while they sleep. This will catch the
vampires off guard and put them on the defensive . The Garou
will then meet up with Team Alpha to mount an assault on the
Fanum. They cannot put it off; the longer they wait, the further
Jupiter will be corrupted.

Your pack is part of Team Silver. The strategists have tried to divide
the forces in the best way possible.
]

Once Ryan and the other leaders finish their planning the Silver tusks are
gathered together and it is time to follow orders. The battle plan is
presented to you all by Kulos Hail-tongue, a Lupus Galliard of the Silver Fangs.

"This is the plan.. You are to enter Chicago by car. You leave
at eight o'clock tonight and a car will be provided for you.
You should be there by 10. You will go to the Lincoln Park Zoo
and wait. There you will be contacted by one of the Kinfolk,
a woman named Susan. She will lead you to a safehouse where you
will stay while in Chicago.

You must not reveal yourselves to the enemy and you must
not be followed. You must not endanger the lives of the Kinfolk
who are protecting you.

You will then meet a Glass Walker, Kelly Patterson, who has
information on the location of some Leech havens. It is your job
to strike these havens shortly after dawn. You must stake the
vampires through the heart and cut off their heads, then set them
afire to make sure they are dead.

Sometime tomorrow afternoon, you will be called upon by
the Glass Walker to aid her in closing down O'Hare Airport.
This is to prevent the Leeches from escaping or from bringing
in reinforcements. Another pack will close the train station.

After this, you will rejoin the rest of Team Silver, which will
in turn join with Team Alpha. Together, we will march on the
Fanum. The Uktena have prepared the proper ritual for
binding Jupiter back into the building, but we must act fast
before permanent damage is done.

Do your job and may Gaia bless you . If you have any
questions ask now?"

Before departing, each pack of Team Silver is given a fetish
(see below). The Garou are warned not to spend their spiritual
energies (Gnosis) too wantonly, as the war could last many
nights. They must also guard their anger (Rage) well; many
instances will cause their anger to rise, but they must learn to
release their tensions to tactical effect (spending Rage at the
right times, not randomly).

Tears of Renewal
Level 5, Gnosis 8
This is a large rock crystal on a leather thong . Each night, the
crystal condenses moisture, which hardens into small crystal
tears . When allowed to melt on the tongue, the tears return
spent Gnosis . Each crystal teardrop returns one Gnosis point .
The fetish can generate a number of tears equal to its Gnosis
score per night, one per hour . It can only return spent Gnosis,
not add to permanent Gnosis . Furthermore, the Gaffling that
fuels this fetish can only give a maximum of 23 Gnosis points
before it must be "recharged" by a Rite of Binding .

Re: The War Begins

Ryan knew the only reason he had anything to contribute at all is because of his heritage, but even with all that, he mostly ended up quiet...there were only so many times a Cliath can contribute before he overstepped his bounds. Still, he did a good bit, for his rank.

Hmmm.

"Will Kelly need any financial aid? I can provide some if it's needed."

Those Garou blessed with human wealth knew that wealth was only there to further Gaia's aims, when appropriate.

The car you are provided is an old VW hippie van, worse for ware but in a drivable condition. It is Skyblue with a big peace symbol on one side. A sticker on the back window says "Make Love not War". The van is currently stuck in the mud just outside the boundary fence of the sept.

Marcus came away from the struggle with the leech and crazed Fenrir thoroughly pissed. The once calm, dignified Fury was pushed almost to the limit with the disgraceful actions of his pack.

"He had surrendered to us and you attack him because the damn Fenrir want some blood? I guess the Litany be damned on this twice cursed job! Only Shadowclaw and Leafstorm had any sense amongst the lot of you!" He howled furiously over the mental link.

He then stormed off, visibly shaking with anger, spending the night alone with his thoughts.

While he was alone, he would vent his anger on a great stone, slashing it into the glyph for Boar with his claws. Physically exhausted, he would arrange the glyphs stones in his backpack into a summoning circle, then call out to a powerful Jaggling of great Boar.

Marcuses words cut deep, feeling shame at his hasty actions, his enthusiasm to join his fellow tribes-garou in the slaughter of a "defenseless" prisoner that had surrendered to him. His remorse leads him to seek out his Alpha and apologise for his actions.

"Ryan.. I didn't wait for you.. sorry.."

After the events that transpired tonight sean would spend the night outside starting by some stargazing. Then he would meditate to the mighty boar spirit on how he could bring the pack together as one, and on how to best teach lock jaw to maintain balance and reserve his anger for those that it is truly deserving of and not just lashing out at everything, to teach him to be as the boar reserved until it is truly needed then a power keg that has been ignighted.

Re: The War Begins

Ryan had a quite reasonable answer for that.

"I knew the Get would be extremely difficult to reach by words. They were a tidal wave crashing down a hill. Trying to stop them outright...well, there may come a day where I can do that, but I'm not sure I can do that as a Cliath. So instead, I attempted to direct their rage, turning it down a slightly more acceptable path. Also, I was reluctant to raise a claw against a Garou for a Leech's sake, truce or not. That's the sort of thing Leeches try to do...make us fight each other, weaken both sides, then crush them. If ever your rage rises against a Garou for a Leech's sake, re-evaluate what you're doing. Had even one Garou, in their rage, killed another for the sake of a truce with Leeches, the only one who wins there is the Wyrm, and I'd rather not give it any victories.

As for you, Lockjaw...you understand the rage of your brother Get better then anyone else. But that also makes you vulnerable to the same errors. What I need from you...if this happens again, I'd like to know if there's some better way to turn that wrath, should I need to do so in the future. Or at least redirect it elsewhere. Sometimes a Tidal Wave cannot be stopped, but it can be sent somewhere harmless. Also, remember what the Elders said. Contain your rage as bst you can. We'll need it for controlled bursts to slay the Leeches...particularly the stronger ones. Some weaker Leeches may not require releasing our rage to deal with. We'll be trying to kill most of them using the least amount of rage possible.

Re: The War Begins

It is nightfall of the third day of the moot and the time for
traveling into Chicago is at hand. The Sept of the Wind
Catchers will not allow a Moon Bridge into Chicago because
the Black Spirals would sense it. It would be very unsafe to
travel through the Umbra; just over at yonder farm is the Wyrmhole
your pack discovered. While it is not usually active, with
Jupiter's growing corruption and the Black Spiral Theurges
having whipped the Banes of the area into a frenzy of activity,
the Shadowlord patrols have had to work doubly hard to keep the
area free of banes. Your pack must get to Chicago by
conventional means . Once there, they are to meet Susan in
front of the Lincoln Park Zoo.

Re: The War Begins

Much as Ryan would normally rent a fancier vehicle for getting into town, since one is provided...well, there's very possibly a reason why the elders want THAT car used, and he wasn't arrogant enough to gainsay them. There was wisdom to be found in following orders, for it teaches one how to give them.

And so the van, which can fit the pack (perhaps that's why they chose such a vehicle) would be driven off. Naturally, gas wouldn't be a problem, due to Ryan's resources. Even if it was way too much a gallon. He didn't necessarily do the driving himself...rather, he let better drivers do that, and discussed anti leech strategies with those not driving in the meantime.

Having never been in a van before accept in a big metal box L.J. Is strangely excited by the concept of being in control of the fast traveling tin can. Jumping into the drivers seat and putting his paws on the steering wheel he looks around at the others his tongue lolling comically out the side of his jaw and says with a big cheesy wolf grin.

"I drive. Ya tavarish. We go fast box now... Fast box I say we go now... NOW!... I think it broke. How you make fast box go?" (*Said in his atrocious Russian accent*)

Marcus comes forward, and in spite himself, chuckles a little. He comes over and points to the ignition key.

"The box isn't on yet Lockjaw. I'll show you how it all works when this over if you want." He said, adjusting his sunglasses. "Climb in the back, the humans will think it a little strange seeing a wolf drive."

With that, he climbed into the driver's seat then stowed his backpack next to him. From inside, he pulled out a few small leather bags and some sturdy pieces of wood. The bags he offered out to Ryan.

"Here. Boar blessed us with these last night. If you blow the sand into someone's face who has been mentally taken by dark powers, this should free their minds. I'm not sure if it will stop the most powerful of vampire powers, but any of the local Garou start acting strange, this might help." Marcus's voice was a little raspy, like he had been screaming all night. Signs of fatigue were heavy in him, but most of the tension was gone.   He then handed out the sticks to everyone in the back. "We are going to need stakes." He said simply, figuring that they would know what to do.

Unless there was anything else, he got himself into position and turned the key, Adria's driving lessons running through his mind. Checking the map/directions they were given, he pulled out of the Bawn and off to the Windy City.

It will take about 2 hours (One and a half hours if you take tolls, don't get lost and had a decent vehicle) driving to get to the Lincoln park zoo. About 45 minutes into your journey there is a loud "bang!" and a "warblewarble" as your rear left tyre bursts. Pulling to the side of the road you find yourselves opposite a general store/Roadhouse in a heavy industrial estate. What a great place to get stuck a blight on the landscape. Across the road you can see people in the general-store/Roadhouse.

Over at the convenience store/ cafe one of the employees comes out to put some trash in the industrial bin and sees you. He shouts across the road.

"Whoa that looks like a nasty flat. Damn kids there always braking bottles in the street."

He sticks his head inside. the door.

"Hey Andy, got another tourist with a flat tire out here! Those damn kids breaking bottles on the road again. I'll give them a hand be back in 10."

The guy from the store begins to cross the road, and the male customer follows him saying.

"I'll help too I'm a mechanic, they may have damaged something else on there car."

What you assume to be his girl friend follows him shouting;

"Ben, honey not now we have the movie in 30 minutes!"

He says back;

"It's an opportunity Betty if they need mechanical help as well they become a customer, If not, I have helped out changing a tyre. Gotta take em where I can get them hun."

All three are soon crossing the road to help you with your flat tyre (Which like most Vans is under a board in the back.) and you have a bunch of wolves in the back of the van.

Re: The War Begins

Ever the diplomat, Ryan gets out to negotiate the 'help' needed with the tire...if any help is in fact needed. He gets the warning about lies before he begins negotiations, so he has an appropriately jaundiced eye towards anything they say. Still, his ways with words are often formidable enough to sway even normal humans to being earnestly helpful.

"It's so kind of you to be helpful to those traveling by on the road. It's greatly appreciated."

"They might well be lying, but let's see if I can turn them around. They're not the first dishonorable humans I've persuaded into more honorable behavior."

(OOC:So, I'll flip persuasion on. While my werewolf and kinfolk merits don't kick in, Animal Magnetism DOES kick in (assuming they're actually human), so I'll still be at formidable bonuses. Let me know when I should roll for all this.)
