Night 12: The Sea of Dust

Sliced shrieker turns out to be quite tasty, actually. That's probably why they developed such a deafening scream to scare away animals that want to feed on them. The violent fungi don't look as appetising, though.

Dregz waves the black rod back and forth a few times but it still persistently points northwards.

Those keeping watch in the two north-south corridors don't see or hear anything to worry them.

She watched Bulldust take a bite of the shrieker and decided to grab some too. After slicing off a few slices, she tried some, nods nods as she approves, then turned to Bulldust to reply to his greetings.

"Awk, Hiya Bulldust! Glad to see youz. Youz doing okz?"

"Def'ntly dat way," Dregz confirms what the Magic Stick is telling him, point his finger northwards almost as persistently as the rod itself.

"Huh, so dat way, right? Right." Minmorc will stomp up to door 11 and will try to open the door. If civilized approaches like handles, nobs or pushing don't work he'll go for the axe and shoulder.

Convinced that Minmorc will swiftly locate the next piece of the Magic Stick, foes, fixtures and even ages-old architecture not withstanding, the little Goblin follows close on the big Orc's heels.

Sure enough, door 11 is firmly locked, which gives everyone else a few seconds to decide where they want to be before Minmorc's Axe-wife forces entry.

Night 12: The Sea of Dust

She hopped and ran down the hallway after Minmorc and the others weapon ready, munching shrieker as she went. Once there she handed Minmorc a large hunk of mushroom then waited for the next move. She tried the door gingerly and found it locked. She bent down and checked the edges of the door for traps, then pulled out her tools and tried to get the lock to open.

"Awk, I try open door, maybeez!"

It seems the cunning Raven has located Minmorcs achilles heel (achilles stomach?) Distracting Minmorc with delicious mushroom Raven should have plenty of time before the axe falls...

Night 12: The Sea of Dust

With Dregz pointing the way Minmorc is the first to head north again but everyone else follows shortly after. Most are still munching on tasty slices of shrieker and Raven distracts Minmorc with a big slice of the delicious mushroom while she sets to work to unlock door 11. It takes Raven a couple of attempts but she is rewarded with a click from the lock and the door easily swings open.

The light from Raven’s rapier illuminates the room inside, which looks deserted. The room is about 15 feet wide and extends back about 12 feet from the doorway. There is a 6 foot long stone table in the middle of the room and empty shelves on the north and east walls.

OOC: Main game map updated.

Everyone has the benefits of a Bless spell previously cast by Minmorc (+1 to hit and +1 on saves vs fear) for 11 more rounds.

Dregz casts about with the Magic Stick, trying to see if he is getting closer to it, his eyes fixed on the stone table, in the light of Minmorc's suggestion.

"Not wiv der death priests an' neck-romancers aroun'," the little goblin agrees with the big orc. "But at least der dead humies usually do wot dey are told - not like der live ones !"

The stone table is just that - a stone slab supported on two sturdy stone blocks. It is not a sarcophagus but it would be the right size to lay a body, or a coffin, on top of it.

Dregz's black rod doesn't point at the stone table. From the doorway it points toward the western wall of this room.

She moved her hands softly over the wall looking for an entrance to the room she sees.

Bully pushes the door (#12) open to reveal a larger room with two more stone tables. This room is about 25 feet wide and extends back about 12 feet from the doorway. One stone table is empty but the one closest to the door has a stone coffin (or sarcophagus) lying on top of it. The lid of the stone coffin is closed. Six wooden coffins are stacked against the eastern wall of this room.

Jurz pushes open another door (#9) to reveal a 10ft x 15ft room full of bookshelves. Row after row of dusty, leather-bound books fill the shelves.
