Ron: Cast Out to The Evil Circus

"That's why it's going to be great."
Bradford said. And then, as the whirring of the carousel became louder...

"Oh MY GOD! WHERE ARE WE!!!?"

It was true. One moment they were standing there and the next...here.

The clouds were dark. The carnival tents torn and tattered. There was an acrid smell of stale popcorn and taffy in the air.

Ron: Cast Out to The Evil Circus

Ron frantically began to look around for Dawn.  He opened his mouth to shout for her but, seeing the carnival tents, lowered his voice at the last moment to a hoarse whisper as he began to search for her.  "Dawn!  Dawnie!  Are you here somewhere?  It's me, Ron!"

Ron: Cast Out to The Evil Circus

Ron looked around furiously. Past the whirring carousel with its bizarre jaunty music. The faces of the horses looking frantic themselves. Wide eyes and leering mouths.

Dawn wasn't anywhere to be seen.

"He betrayed us!" Bradford said in a voice that was a little too loud. And then in a much softer voice

"he betrayed us." Bradford whispered.

"The last kid that came through. Whatever he did with the book. He...he wrote something in the book. He wrote something and that's how we ended up here. That's got to be what happened Ron. It has to be. We did everything that April said. None of us jumped in the book. And golly, I was just talking about how we would be coming back home and now here we are."

He looked up.

"In a Circus..."
the word hung in the air between them.

Ron: Cast Out to The Evil Circus

Ron nodded.  "Maybe it was the book instead.  April said it does weird stuff sometimes."  He looked at the Circus.  "April said that the book came from the fortune teller's tent.  Maybe we can find something there that will help us get back.  Without the book, we'll have to find another way back or hope that someone with the book gets us out."  He slowly approached the Circus, looking for signs to the fortune-teller's tent.
