Proposition for our match. How about... invis/flying is fine, but.
No Prep rounds  and Brakt automatically goes first in initiative.

Large colosseum is no guarantee, I’ve seen Hiro run diagonally across a large arena and land a high kick on arrival!
Invisibility and Flight are not very useful if I have an ogre on m’y neck before I can start casting ;)

I'm not quite ready for a fight myself, but could ref one if anyone else is going to fight.

Quick question, when one fires multiple rays, does one need to declare all targets before rolling, or can one shoot a first ray, see how it does, then a second, etc. The same way you would with multiple iterative attacks from a high BAB ?

spell says fired simultaneously so I would say declare before rolls

Tiaca just cast Reach Scorching Rays using a level 2 spell slot. According to the rules though:



So, Tiaca can't do this.  Now, do we:

• A: Cast the same spell using a level 3 spell slot(Effectively no difference)
• B: Cast a different spell using the same readied action?
• C: Tiaca loses the readied action completely?

Personally, I'm of the opinion that if it's possible to do what you're trying to do, then you do it.

If it winds up having a different cost than you were expecting (higher spell slot for a spontaneous caster) then so be it.

However, if it's impossible (such as the same situation happening to a prepared caster) then what you declared happening fizzles and you may or may not get a foul depending on whether the ref feels that it's something the player should have obviously been prepared for.

Usually a conflict with the core rules is insta foul while a conflict with arena rules is a bit more forgiving but not for repeat mistakes during the same match (even if they're different rules for each mistake).

Or at least that's how I look at it.

A) if spontaneous caster
C) if not spontaneous caster and doesn't have exact same spell prepared as 3rd level
