Airlock 2

The hopper landed on the asteroid. Built into the asteroid was a durasteel door. A small viewport set in the middle of the door provided a limited view of the other side, a two metre by two metre room. A small control panel on the door is on the outside.

Stepping out of the airlock into the base, Chu-Shkar had his bowcaster ready as he scanned the corridor. His Vox box was turned down low so any communications he made would not be too loud, and he had his computer in his satchel at his side. Not seeing anyone he waved to Rynn and Tera signalling the all clear.

"WE seem to be undetected so far."

OOC A bit ahead of yourself. I'll need to know how you want to open the airlock first. For example is Chu-Shkar planning on forcing the door open with physical force, blowing the door open with explosives, by using the control panel, or something else?

Chu-Shkar steps to the airlock and ran a quick check to see if it was alarmed, or monitored. Then he hooked his computer up to bypass any alarms or sensors.

He intends to use the control panel to open the door, but he will check it for alarms and sensors. Before I had assumed we were at the outer airlock.

Rynn sat the hopper down and started prepping his gear to assault the base. "You'll be able to get that open right? It would pretty cruddy to come all this way and die at the door." He pulled up the map to ensure they had their pathway down.

Chu-Shkar overrode the sensors connected to the airlock door and then activated the controls. The airlock opened with a swoosh as the atmosphere escaped and more ice crystals formed on the rocky asteroid.

Inside was a two by two metre room. The airlock door into the station had the same small viewport. A glance through the viewport revealed a hallway with three stormtroopers in it.

"GOT troopers here." Chu-Shkar said after a quick glance through the view hole. He then set up his computer again to send the override, though he didn't trigger it yet... "HOW do you want to do this?" He asked the others.

"Override the safety on the outer airlock, then pop the door open on the interior, when the air gets sucked out, they should follow." Rynn said on the commo channel. "To bad they are in helmets, the look on their faces will be priceless."

Chu-Shkar secured his computer after making sure that the alarms and sensors on the airlock doors was bypassed. He then grabbed tight to one of the safety bars and held on for the sudden pressure release to come. Then nodding to Rynn he indicated he was ready.

From the outside control panel Chu-Shkar accessed the safety protocols and entered an override. The locks on both doors were released and the atmosphere inside was blown outside in a forceful burst. Caught unready the stormtrooper guards were thrown off their feet and left grabbing for anything to stop their swift exit of the base. One stormtrooper was left flailing and flew passed the Rebels and into the lethal asteroid field.

When the pressure dropped sirens blasted as a base-wide alert was sounded. The life support computer automatically sealed the blast doors nearest to the airlock. When the pressure had equalised the remaining stormtroopers fell to the ground.

OOC Roll Initiative, 20 and higher beat the stormtroopers and can act, the remaining 2 stormtroopers are prone.

Tera reacted more quickly than anyone had seen her move in the past, storming past the others to strike at a stormtrooper with her lightsaber.

The two stormtroopers were on the ground as Tera leapt forward and cut one of them down. The other struggled to stand and staggered as they lifted their blaster to defend themselves. The lack of atmosphere was debilitating and the blaster shot went wild.

OOC Everyone can act. The last stormtrooper is -2 on the condition track.

"Can you toss them Chu?" Rynn asked, paying the struggling stormtrooper no mind. He instead moved to the airlock controls and prepared to close them once the other stormtroopers had left the building. Hopefully that would quiet the alarms, though they'd still have to move quickly.

Chu-Shkar stepped in and grabbed the back of one of the still alive Troopers, and pulled him back towards the door in an attempt to throw him out.

The last stormtrooper was grabbed by Chu-Shkar and hauled towards the airlock. Struggling and gasping for air the stormtrooper managed to push away from the Wookiee but stumbled as he tried to step away from Chu-Shkar.

The alarm continued to screech and lights flashed in the hallway.

OOC Stormtrooper breaks the Grap and is now 4 steps down the condition track, -10 on all actions.

Frustrated that this trooper won't just die easily, Chu-Shkar roars in frustration and tries again.

Tera sighed, with an expression of sadness on her face as she stuck her lightsaber on the stormtrooper. "Shu-Shkar...well...it's unfortunate, but they know we're here. Is there anything you can do to divert them from here?"

"ACTUALLY, they only know there was a breach in the environmentals. THE airlocks didn't register as open."

Still waiting to find out if I chucked that stormtrooper out the airlock.

Helpless the dying stormtrooper was grabbed by Chu-Shkar and finished off by Tera, the lightsaber piercing the white plastoid armour and extinguishing the life within.

It had been mere seconds since their invasion and the guards were defeated. The alarm siren continued unabated and the airlock doors remained open.

Chu-Shkar moved to the control panel and began the sequence to repressurize the area. This would hopefully lift the security door, and end the lockdown. He also said, "GET that last trooper over here, make it look like he died pushing the button to repressurize. HOPEfully it will look like a door malfunction. I'M making a set of maintenance logs showing this airlock was having issues."

Chu-Shkar rolled 12 using 1d20+10 with rolls of 2.  know technology.
rolled 18 using 1d20+10 with rolls of 8.  mechanics.
rolled 18,19 using 1d20+15,1d20+15.  use computer.
I'm throwing together a series of maintenance logs, these should help hide the fact we entered.

Tera helped Rynn move the trooper over to where Chu-shkar suggested, moving his position so it would appear as though he died trying to repressurise the room. She grimaced as she looked at her work "It might buy us a few minutes..."

The last stormtrooper was laid by the airlock by Tera. In the meantime Chu-Shkar accessed the base's computer system but with the alarm raised the Wookiee's attempt was blocked and he was booted from the system.

The Rebels were inside the base. The airlock door was in working order, it would open if the Rebels needed to flee. The base was dug out of an asteroid. A rough hewn tunnel led into the base. Halfway along the tunnel to one side was a blast door and another blast door was at the end of the tunnel. The Imperials would be checking the Life Support system and the integrity of the tunnel before they released the blast door controls. Chu-Shkar would have been easily been able to do this himself but he had by some misfortune upset the base computer. The Rebels would need to retreat, hide or get ready to face the Imperials when they came to investigate the tunnel.

"We should bolt. If we get caught in this airlock, there's no escape but out, and that doesn't get us any closer to our goal. We need get going." Rynn said, looking around at the three of them. He was quite unsure of the delineation of rank now that their squad leader was not with them.

Tera nodded in agreement with Rynn "This avenue of approach seems wasted. We should try another. While we might be able to take on a trooper or two if we start facing squads, we'd be in trouble. Let's try another entrance."

Cutting their losses Rynn and Tera exited the Shantipole base. Through the airlock and onto the surface of the asteroid. There was two other airlocks. One which Lyla and Klyn had gained entry through and another yet explored. There was also two hangar bays.

Message bleeped on the comlink from Klyn "Whatever you did, you attracted some attention: they are sending people toward your position." he warned.

Chu-Shkar looked around found a rough hole in the passage wall or a walk in storage cupboard large enough for the Wookiee to conceal themselves in.

OOC Without a unanimous answer I've gone with the majority as both Rynn and Tera are fleeing. If Chu-Shkar wants to stay roll a Stealth check.

Tera smiled sarcastically to herself "Yeah plans don't often survive in the face of the enemy. In this case, we couldn't even open a door without setting off every alarm in the base." she gathered the others. "Well...the hangar bays are occupied, lets go in through the third airlock."

'How the cruk did you get stuck outside?!' Lyla burst out in shock. 'Never mind, head to Airlock #1, it's closer to our current position. Don't breach it. We'll reunite, then fight a path through to the Computer Room to get the files and see if there's any prisoners still here. Then we'll work out a rescue and escape.'

Unsuccessful in penetrating the base further than the airlock the team fled to the next airlock.

It was much the same as the last. A durasteel door with a small viewport that revealed the limited view of an empty two metre by metre airlock room.

Tera watched Chu-shkar access the lock, she fought the urge to ask him if he wanted help knowing that to even ask would show doubt in him. "Rynn. We should be prepared just in case there are guards here too." Tera clutched her lightsaber in her hand carefully, waiting for the instant the doors would open. "Next time remind me to bring grenades...or thermal detonators."

Moving inside, Chu-Shkar waved the rest in. Plugging the computer in, he set up the door to open after a timer was tripped. He also waited for the others to enter. Once they had, he readied his bowcaster, and motioned that three enemies were on the other side of the door.

OOC It's your surprise round and then roll Initiative. Initiative 11 or higher and post your round 1 actions as well.

Hitting the datapad's command button he sighted where he expected the closest storm trooper to be. And as the door raised after the two second delay, he sighted it on the trooper and fired.

Nat twenty on the roll. Total of 25. Are there critical hits in this edition?

Rynn started moving as soon as there was room, trying to rush the Stormtroopers with the rest, snapping off a blaster shot as he moved.

In a blaze of blasterfire and the glow of Tera's lightsaber the three stormtrooper were defeated. The three Rebels had made their way into the Verpine asteroid. The tunnel was roughly hewn and led toward a crossroad.

Before they moved onward Tera felt a strong presence of another Force user on the asteroid. She recognised it as Quantros. The ancient being sent her feelings of confidence and elation and a single word "hangar".

Lyla contacted them over comlink. 'What's your position? There are six stormtroopers at the crossroads, between us and you. I think we should ambush together. Move fast. We've got a lot more behind us.'

Tera nodded as she remained with Rynn, reaching out to feel Quantros. She tried to send impulses that would let Quantros know the group needed attention taken away from them if possible. She smiled knowing the attempt itself would be enough for Quantros to know they were there.
