Please create your own thread for your character.[FIELDSET="Introduction to Elders"]Those wishing to be Elder's in this game had best bring their "A" game.  The Elders will be the movers and shakers in the game and what they do almost always creates ripples.  It is strongly suggested that anyone wanting to play an Elder read the [URL="https://whitewolf.fandom.com/wiki/Elysium_(book)"][COLOR="Blue"]Elysium: The Elder Wars[/COLOR][/URL] supplement for Vampire ([URL="https://whitewolf.fandom.com/wiki/Counsel_of_Primogen"][COLOR="Blue"]Counsel of Primogen[/COLOR][/URL] is also a good read).  Yes, it's not V20, but thematically it is a very good resource.

Anyone who wants to play an Elder needs to tell me about them as a player and their thoughts on certain topics before they will be accepted.  Once you get accepted, then we will make the character.  Do not make a character for being an Elder unless we tell you too.  Elder's should be proficient in the rules and be able to adjudicate rules if need be.

Elder's will do a brief session in 1720 London.  They will then do their Progress of the Ages and then there will be a session with them and the Ancillae players in 1870 Perth.  Therefore, they should structure their background to be in London in 1720 under Prince Mithras.  They should have been embraced within 25 years of 1720.

There will be three Elders.  No more, no less.  If there are not three PC Elders, I will make NPC elders to fit the bill.[/FIELDSET]

Answer: An Elder does not become so by age, but by understanding and manipulating power on the grandest levels. In order to do so, an Elder must have extensive knowledge of the workings of the world, both within Vampire society and without.[/FIELDSET]

Answer:An Elder’s goals are their own. Should a Methuselah manage to shake itself loose to compel an Elder, then it is in the best interests of self-preservation to appease the Methuselah. Beyond this, Elders are not beholden to Vampire society, but rather Vampire society is beholden to the Elders. That Elders play by, or at least seem to play by, the rules of Vampire society is simply because they feel it is expedient to do so. The greatest gift that Elders give to Vampire society is the same that they give to the world, the ability not to become stagnant, but to keep moving forward no matter how slow the pace may seem.[/FIELDSET]

Answer:The applications of power may change, but the structures of power never change. Use of technology to achieve a goal is no different than using wealth or influence.[/FIELDSET]

Answer:Power flows from the top down. If one continues to involve himself at the level of a Childe, then one is basically living at the level of a child. An Elder should exercise power from the highest level possible in order to achieve a goal most efficiently. For game purposes, this means interacting directly with other Elders first, Ancillae second, and Neonates third. This does not preclude direct action with the Neonates or anyone else. Knowledge is power.[/FIELDSET]

Answer:Authority means the ability to exact a desired outcome without the need to apply power by any other means.[/FIELDSET]
