Meari actually smiled when she got Skiffle's message back, Meari then sent back," Well you need to be clean Skiffle, that is great you are going to the Faire. I am visiting Lady's Memorial then I will head to the Faire as well, maybe I will see you there."

Meari was so happy Skiffle found a good family, and they didnt mind Meari was still in Skiffle's life. She was happy Skiffle was getting a real chance at a good life. Meari then looked at Frakas and said" I thought we lost you with those spider things, but I am very glad you are recovering."

Re: BURA  sites  and palces

In reply to Justin Kase (msg # 61):

Having picked up a shish kabob sort of food - and quite a tasty one at that - she answered Justin as regards the drink:

"Yes, sure; I'd really like a glass of wine to go with this.  Maybe a good rosé, or something along those lines, if they have it."    Once a beverage was procured, she turned to Justin and let him know:

"You know, I think I mentioned that my uncle taught me how to shoot.  But, that wasn't all.  He also taught me how to handle and ride a horse.   I got real curious as to whether there were horses on Bura, or something fairly close.   So, I did a little researching...and learned there's a rather horse-like species...six legged, if you can imagine, and a bit  taller and more slender. They don't have them here in the city, but the surrounding town and villages breed them.   And tomorrow, I plan to go and check these critters out!   Maybe even rent and ride one, if that's possible.  Have you ever done any riding?"

In reply to Dr. Alison Verault (msg # 65):

Justin continued munching on his burger as he listened to the Doc. The closest thing to riding any critters happened when I was a kid; staring at a Carousel from the back of an O-bus. But I'll give it a go.

"That's the spirit," she smiled. "Of course, you'll be in the company of not only an experienced rider, but also a trauma therapist, in case things do get a bit harry," she winked, then shrugged.

"But, this may well be wishful thinking on my part, or a case of me biting off more that I can chew.  I've no idea what the temperament of these animals is like, or how fast they run, or even if they're accessible to non-Burans. I will find out, though!"    So said, she turned her gaze toward the faire grounds.

"Want to try the rides?  Looks like there's a big ferris wheel.    As a pilot, I know you have no fear of heights. And, it must give a great view of the fairegrounds, and the city's skyline."

"Nope. No requests." Madison was still eating from her last skewer. She was full already, but it was so good. "Seriously. Anything you guys want to do is fine. I mean there's no reason we can't do everything, right. I say we start with Izzy's ride. She's excited so we shouldn't make her wait."

Lizzy smiled and replied," Well then lets hit the dodgems first shall we and we can try any games along the way." Lizzy took Izzy's hand and they walked towards the rides and the Midway with all it's fun games.

Lizzy looks at the games trying to find one she might be good at to get Izzy a prize.

Sam gave Madison a smile and added," Yes lets do the dodgems first then we can go on another ride, I also saw there is a huge awesome Mountain Coaster as well." Sam was having a great time as they got into line for the Dodgems.

Sam said," Ok everyone out for themselves in dodgems." When it was time, Sam led the group to get their dodgem, get buckled in and be ready for the ride to start.

NA-CE finished her amazing food, and then listened to the others. " What are dodgems that is not a term I am familiar with." NA-CE followed the others then saw the ride and the moving vehicles trying to hit each other.

NA-CE smiled and replied," This looks like fun Izzy good choice, no we just to evade others and also try to hit others, correct?"

Re: BURA  sites  and palces

Nikki was happy her friend from that horrid ship was doing better.  Adjusting well to a new family.  both Nikki and Mitch took turns keeping an eye on Haley as eating so much they had to relieve themselves.  Eventually Haley did as well and the 3 were off again for more fun.  The mechanized/ electrified rides were fun. Haleys eyes lit up seeing horses, and more importantly horse rides.  A bit taller now, a pony ride would not do.  Haley got to ride her first real horse, a small but impressive bay with black mane, tail, and stockings with white feathery fetlocks.  To Haley it was the most beautiful horse she'd seen and it was gentle as a lamb with her as she fed it half an apple the Burian taking care of them gave her.  She got to ride around in the corral for a bit, getting the horse to trot and even up to a canter.  Nikki talked to the light green skin man there and collected some information.  He owned a large ranch with several Earth cows and horses, plus goats as well.  Nikki was thankful Haley did not hear the word 'goat' as they were her absolute favorite animal ever.  She took his name and got info and asked if they returned at some point could they rent out some horses from him to go camp and trail ride.  The man agreed and spoke of spots to go ride too, plus any costs needed plus tack and gear.  Nikki knew flying or getting dropped some where would do, but there was just something about an old-fashioned trail ride that seemed romantic.  She admitted she was a bit old-fashioned that way.  Eventually Nikki talked Mitch into riding and her
self as well.  Mitch got a tall grey-dun with black main and tail and a white blaze on the face.  Nikki rode a long limbed pinto.  Trotting about the rind the trio was having fun.  Nikki noticed some barrels and did a couple galloping barrel racing maneuvers.  back home in the country she never won, but she always had fun barrel racing.  Until Haley would get used to galloping she had her do the barrels in a quick canter.  They were all smiling and happy

Re: BURA  sites and places

"Ooh I like that idea, can we keep her?" Izzy responded in an enthusiastic voice to Maddy's suggestion that they did everything, with her finishing the last mouthful of her Taco in order to join the others as they started heading off towards the dodgems "hmm well technically you're not supposed to bump into the other cars...but it's more fun if you do" Izzy replied to NA-CE's query as to the aim with her figuring that as an Angel that she had probably never seen a fair like this before "...I take it this is your first time to a fair too huh?" she added with a friendly smile as they walked.

With most of the carnival games relying on hand eye co-ordination, something she didn't have a great deal of since her accident, it would take Izzy a little while to finally find something that she felt confident enough to try with her suddenly veering off to one side with Lizzy. Bearing the name "Electro-Buzz" and covered in lots of cartoon lightning bolts, the game consisted of a long length of twisted copper wire fixed to a table and a hooped wand that you had to move along the wire without touching it, else you set off a buzzer and had to go back to the beginning "Fancy your luck little lady? The aim of the game is to move along the wire using the wand without touching it, if you pass a coloured mark you get a prize but if you get to the very end you win the grand prize" the Burian carne explained with grin, gesturing towards a games console at the back of the stall, nestled in amongst a plethora of cuddly toys and games "I sure do" Izzy cheerfully replied, laying down her credit and taking up the wand in her right hand and waiting for the light to turn green before starting.

In reply to Justin Kase (msg # 69):

It was definitely one of the biggest Ferris wheels she'd ever seen.   Which suited her purpose splendidly, in terms of the view.

Soon, she and Mr. Kase were seated and en route to the top.   The city's skyline proved just as striking as she had hoped.

"I'm so scared," she kidded, "hold my hand!" She leaned her head against his shoulder, then sighed.

"So happy you made it back okay.   Did you enjoy the mission at all?  Or was it just a lot of risk and stress?"

Lizzy smiled and had a blast on the bumper cars, everyone had a lot of fun on them. When the ride was over they got out and Izzy and Lizzy headed over to a gaming booth. Lizzy smiled at the Carnie guy and then watched Izzy try to get a prize. Lizzy would be silent but be routing Izzy on as she tried the wire game. " You got this Izzy."

Re: BURA  sites  and palces

Bumper cars were such a blast that Madison almost didn't want to stop. But the group moved on to play some of the booth games. The only one she played was one where she tried to toss rings onto bottle necks. She went through three rounds but it was so much harder than she thought. It was fun, though and that was the point. She had maybe more fun watching the other girls play their games. A vendor coaxed her into buying something that looked like cotton candy, but it turned out to be way better. She munched it as she stood next to Lizzy, cheering Izzy on.

"It's amazing how something like this can make you forget about everything else."

NA-CE had a blast on the Bumper cars, she got hit, but she also did some hitting and had a lot of fun. Once the ride was over the group headed over to the gaming area, Izzy was trying one game and NA-CE tried the throw dart at balloon get a prize if you break it.

NA-CE broke two balloons and got a medium stuffed purple Nuska. She smiled at the group as she collected her prize. She then watched Izzy and the others play games.

Sam did smile when Izzy found a game she even could possibly win at as well.  Sam tried the ring toss with Madison but she didnt get any on either. Sam did watch and cheer on Izzy as she was doing her game.

Re: BURA  sites and places

The track was split into three sections with each bit separated by a coloured band; Izzy would all but race along the first section which only comprised of a few slight wiggles and a solitary curve with her easily passing the little yellow band meaning she could pick a prize from the bottom shelf comprising of balsa wood gliders and colourful balloons and pinwheels. The second section was a little trickier with the frequent twists and turns causing Izzy to grip her wrist with her left hand however she would pass the little blue band upgrading her prize to the next shelf that held a selection of colourful yo-yo's, whistles and wind up toys.

By this point the rest of the girls were urging her on with her pace slowing as she tried to negotiate a series of zig-zag patterns followed by sharp rises and descents with her skill having seemingly also caught the attention of the Carnie. Was that a hint of worry I just saw in his eyes? Izzy wondered as she passed the golden band and the grand prize was now in sight.

With a small crowd of people cheering her on, Izzy would pause to catch her breath before tackling the final stretch which consisted of a corkscrew that plunged straight down towards a gold painted star on the table that would win her the grand prize. Sadly however she would only get about halfway before the wand slipped in her hand an caught the wire causing a flash of lights and the blaring of a buzzer "oh no! I was so close!" Izzy shouted in dismay, with her fancying that she saw the Carnie breathe a sigh of relief before flashing her smile "That's bad luck young lady, but hey you still get to pick a prize from the top shelf" he said  with a showman's smile and a flourish as he pointed to the shelf full of cuddly animals, which was probably a better prize than a games console when she came to think of it.

Quickly forgetting her disappointment at not reaching the end Izzy would survey the colourful menagerie before eagerly selecting her prize "ooh that one on the left please!" she said happily taking what appeared to be a bright pink monkey with six arms and a curly tail with a cute little bow from the Carnie and handing it to Lizzy with a triumphant grin "see, I told you I would win my girl a prize" she said before leaning up to give her a quick kiss before speaking to the group "so...what should we do now? There's a shooting gallery over there, shall we see which of us ladies is the best shot?"

Re: BURA  sites and places

Lizzy watched Izzy navigate the wire with the wand, she was doing great got the first two colors fast, then she slowed down. She took her time and it looked wicked hard the third section, but Izzy did it fairly easily and the Carnie was nervous. Lizzy watched as Izzy hit the last really hard section and got halfway through.  Lizzy turned around so as not to see what Izzy won so she would be surprised.

Lizzy smiled at the 6 armed monkey, gave Izzy a kiss back and replied," Yes you did, now I have to get you one at least as big." Lizzy smiled at her monkey it was awesome and even better Izzy won it for her. Lizzy whispered into Izzy's ear," Thank you very much I am glad you didnt get the console, this is so much better thank you my love."

Then Izzy brought up shooting and Lizzy replied, " Hell yes let's go find out. Thank you again Izzy, and yes ladies lets see who can shoot the best." Lizzy went over to the shooting galleries. There where three types of shooters, air guns shooting corks to hit targets, bee bee guns to shoot out the star and lastly there was an archery set up to shoot real arrows at targets, Lizzy did that at the ball when they had their games. " Ok ladies which shooting contest first or should we see who the best is at all three?"

Sam watched as Izzy almost made it to the grand prize, but the stuffed 6-armed monkey Lizzy got was awesome Sam thought. Sam went over to Izzy, gave her a big hug and said," Wow that was awesome Izzy you almost made it I thought it was impossible to get that far, you are good at that game, nerves of steel girl." Sam smiled more and then when Izzy and Lizzy brought up the shooting Sam looked at them and said," Umm sure but I am not that good of a shot, I sit on comms I dont shoot people too often, I have had the least combat training of all of you."

Alison nestled in closer to him. "You know, I'd have to say that I am too.   Speaking metaphorically, of course," she smiled.

"I think I mentioned, but we've a room reserved for us at the palace.   Samantha made that happen, which was super wonderful of her.  But, before we turn in, later, I for sure want to have a good look at Bura's night sky.  Well before I studied any astronomy from a galactic perspective, I learned the constellations as a kid.  And, one thing I miss most about Earth are those familiar constellations.   Which change so much, after you're far enough away.   Did you ever think much about the stars, before you left Earth?"

"Oh it's okay Sam." Madison skipped alongside, still putting wisps of candy cloud in her mouth. She was down for some shooting. It was amazing. This fair was like any fair she might have gone to back hone on Earth. The food was better, and there was something a little more magical about it, but if she described it to her friends back home, they'd think there was no real difference. "Be careful Haley.  I know you've ridden ponies before, but these are horses." she reminded her glancing at Mitch "Doing good there?" she asked.
"Ah'll be careful Nikki" Haley replied all smiles, giggles, and squeals.
Nikki did a full gallop around the ring, then also did the one or two amall fences to jump.  She even got the graceful pinto to rear up on its hind legs.  she then let out a huge "YAAA-OOOOO!!!EEEYYYAAH!!" Using her singing voice that could have been heard over half the fairgrounds.  She galloped around again.  To her this was the apex of having fun.  She would have been even more daring if her arm was not strapped to her torso and in a sling.
