Haviria nods in agreement and is on her way.

"Yes, the Seneschal was happy with those choices... for a second choice if we can not find a City residence that fits all the requirements.

If that sounds like disappointment, it is as close as you ever will hear form the Seneschal.

We continue the search and do our best.

What have you learned of the glass Guilds
?"

"I have been made aware of three glassmakers in Sarkund, but there may be others. Vigliaturo Civica, the Berengo Studio, and the Sargaso Glasswerk. I visited the Civica, and while they have excellent pieces they are somewhat rigid in dealing with outsiders. Had I not a Page along they would have turned me away, demanding that I set up an appointment first. I also visited the Sargaso Glasswerk. Lovely artwork and stunning skills anong both maestros and journeymen. Much more accomodating to new customers, even ones that are just browsing. As a point of Pride they point out that they are filling a commission for their Princess for a temple she is having constructed. Although I have not yet visited Berengo Studios, I have heard that their business is shunned by local nobles merely because the maestro is losing his touch. But it occurs to me that if they are hard up for business, you might be able to bargain a lower price. As ling as the journeymen and apprentices can keep making quality product, does it really matter if the maestro cannot use his hands for delicate work anymore?"

"And so.. a good thing to know. Here Glass Guilds are as Celbarian vintners.

All very full of themselves, and why not? As Celbaria is known to most for the best vintages in all of the League, I imagine there is a healthy rivalry between.., what do they call themselves. Maestros?

Now that I have been here, I have noticed our accents are quite noticeable to the Sarkundy.

Well done, we certainly can impress many and able to inform one when she arrives.

Now, I am understanding many of the residences we shall see today may not have existing stables, just keep in mind they can be built. Have you enough knowledge of stables to direct craftsman here to build one

Rogar responds "I should be able to. If I have questions I can consult Master Quinon of the stables outside the castle." He walks next to the Minister, adding "add the stable ourselves! Why couldn't I think of that? It lessens the burden of our needs, so long as there is room enough for the addition."

The day is spent searching for a residence. The Page navigates the various areas of the city.

Many candidates are noted by the minister, many questions asked, opinions from Rogar on what may be possible and what there is room for.  More notes taken.

The sun sets on the pair returning to the castle and the Minister thanks Rogar for his aid and his advice. The Minister believes they have more good candidates for a residence..

Rogar speaks to the guard at the entrance, saying "I wish to speak with Master Quinon at the stables before returning. Will you inform the right people so I can enter a bit later?" Once that bit of info is passed on, Rogar walks over to the stables and asks for the stable master. He asks politely if the Master needed permits or official documents before he could add stalls to the stables. And whether he could recommend a good carpenter. He explains to the stable master that they were seeking a residence in the city, one that could accommodate their mounts. And if they found a desirable one that lacked stables, the plan was to commission their own stables.

The Guards make sure to send the proper notices and inform Rogar he will be allowed t pass when he identifies himself.

Quinon is happy to see Rogar,  then answers the questions thusly; He would need permission from the Master of Horses, to review what change was be by made.

Quinon  does know a carpenter who has done both work in this stable and other residences within Sarkund and out in the manors. Rejauro Onidacci, he lives near the Blossom Gate and f you would like he can send a messenger to summon him when ever is convenient.
Argus is fine shape and the Master of Horses will be in morning to review Argus' legs.

Rogar records the information and thanks Quinon. He returns to the gate and announced himself to enter. Once within, he proceeds to his room, where he looks for any notes left for him. He also looks for the added journal he was promised. He sends notes to the kitchen (to have a meal brought up) and to the Chamberlain (requesting Page Haviria be assigned to Rogar during his stay).

There are no messages that await the Knight. The journal is not present.

A Page takes the message to the kitchen and returns with more food than Rogar could possibly eat, though there are many tasty dishes, served with a bottle of a red wine that is just mellow sunshine.

After the meal a note comes from the Chamberlian.

Sir Rogar, Order of the Swan

I am heartened to read that Page Haviria has so ablely
performed her duties that you ask to have her retained
for the duration of your stay.

Page Haviria is almost at the end of her duties to the
Castle and I would see learn as much as possible from as
many as she will meet in these last rewarding days we
have to be with her.

It is with a heavy heart that I can not permit her to
be retained by one guest, as distinguished as that
honored guest is.

The letter reads

Lord Chancellor Recena Castillini,

I understand the concern that Page Haviria
be allowed to make as many contacts and
learn as much as she is able to improve her
chances at another position after leaving
the Court's employ. Would it be possible to
meet her parents? I have a potential suggestion
to make for her post-court prospects, but
feel I should ask her parents first.
Would that be possible?

A letter of reply is brought within the hour.

Sir Rogar, Order of the Swan

We in Sarkund appreciate zeal and offers take on a different tone
when delivered in person, instead of a written correspondence.

At this time, given Page Haviria's exemplary conduct, permission
is granted to contact her parents only by written message.

After a correspondence of three exchanges, then I will
reconsider a meeting in person.

Rogar considers what he would write to Haviria's parents, then decides to hold off until the next evening. In the morning he would pose a question to the page to see if she was even remotely interested. In the meantime he takes his second journal with him and walks into the hallway. He flags down a Page, asking to be conveyed to the office of the Lord Marshall, Count Fandorles-Edevivace. He makes note of the location on his map and key, then asks the Page if he can call on the Lord Marshall, or whether he needs to pen a request for a meeting.

Lord Marshall,
Have you time this evening for a meeting?
I have a few questions and requests, and
as a visitor to this castle I have no wish
to commit a social gaffe. If you are busy
this evening, we can schedule for another
evening. None of these questions are of
an urgent nature, so do not feel unduly
pressured. I await your response.

Sir Rogar,
Knight of the Order of the Swan.

.He passes the note to the page.

Sir Rogar, Knight of the Order of the Swan

The Office of the Lord Marshal has received
your request and it is on record.

At this time the Lord Marshal is at full
exercise of his office and us currently
unavailable for an appointment.

With an explanation of your queries, this
Office can suggest a surrogate who would be
available and capable of answering your
questions to all fulsomeness.

Office of the Lord Marshall,

I do not know when we are returning to Celbaria.
As such, I must plan for our return. Given that,
I do not wish my fighting edge to dull. I seek
permission to use the training facilities and
sales of the 1st regiment while I am here. In
addition, since discovering several drakine
along the way I fervently wish to have something
more substantial than leather armor when I
retake the field. To that end I wish to meet
the Master of Forges to discuss whether he
can provide me better protection, for a fee
of course. Can these requests be accommodated?

Sir Rogar, Knight of the Order of the Swan

This is to inform you that the 1st Regiment is
currently performing training and sales for the
Spring season. To that end there is no possibility
for use use of any training or sale while they
are in training. Once the 1 st is done training you
may apply again for use of that training area.

The proper person to petition for review and contact
with the Forge Master is the Seneschal of the Court
of Sarkund, Seneschal Thendus di Torsi. The Seneschal
alone may grant permission of a foreign dignitary.

The room is ill suited and comparatively small to what Rogar is used to. Already Rogar can feel the effects of lassitude.

The morning comes and there is a knock on the door.

When Rogar answers, he discovers a new Page.

"Sir, I am Page Vazoric Nurnolzi, I am here to conduct you to various Glass Guilds that are in the city. I am given to understand we are to return by noon.  Correct?"

The page is a young man, dressed well and stands at attention. It appears he has some martial training to Rogar's eye.

A visit to a nearby hall, means obtaining what Rogar asks for.

Page Vazoric walks like a boy who has done a march and maybe even some drills, his stride is even and regular.

The passage out of the gates was handled with deference to the guards and takes longer than likely it should.

In the city the Page keeps a steady pace and also, stops for women, helps the infirm, and scolds/plays with children that engage them on the street. The Page is stiff and his demeanor, while polite, has a certain officiousness to it.

As the city comes more busy and the sun rises, the way becomes more crowded with peoples, wagons, commerce, as before, the Page seems more intent on looking around and often moves to one side or the other of Rogar.

Then the Page gestures to a medium sized building with short stacks on the roof, and made with very intricately carved wood beams, pillars and siding.

The door is unlocked, it opens easily inside there is no display cases or room of sample works.
Instead there are men in smocks, heavy shoes being aided by boys and girls, with what appears to be a mixture of practical experience and instruction.

No one pays any attention to the pair and no one comes over to greet them, though some do see the pair standing there.
