Go with (9d6+8)*1.5, as at most it gives +4 more dmg difference anyways. In one game I had robes of evoker; it added 3/day +2 x spell level dmg on evocation spells (and +1 save DC) and also I could add smite spell (basically add my CL to spell dmg). With empower (via amulet no less) with fireballs resulted pretty ugly damage numbers, more so the half dmg was from divine source and other was fire.

Ah, yeah chakra binds indeed limit the magic item slot. But chakra binds give lots nifty and strong powers (including immunities like immune to level drain effects and able restore ability dmg 1 point per round across all stats and crit immunity/resistance).

I don't think activating Sudden Empower is a swift action. It is just a way to cast the spells, and counts as inside the standard action that takes you to cast it.

Question: Is talking a free action? Cause I'm torn between burning them and letting them surrender. I kind of want to demand they surrender and fireball them if they don't agree.

Unless you want to make a presidential speech, talking is always a free action that you can do even when you are wielding a sword.

So far as my own math goes, you cannot hit both of them with fireball with just 20'ft radius. Just one of them. Count either by counting 4 squares any direction or count 3 squares from center directly down, top and sides and then half-horizontally draw line between the 'tips' if want think more circle like than square cube.

Of course blast of flame is a option. Just change angle bit on the map ST gave.

Oh, when you count half-horizontally the squares towards foe before my char, yeah then you reach both guys (as foe near me would just be in border of the blast).

I get feeling that Lord Elazran has literally a death wish, he had no interest on 'dueling' at all....but outright murder Lady Maria and then blame it later as 'dueling accident'. As he refuses admit defeat despite in any normal saner circumstance a duelist would withdraw.

Yeah, it's fair fall to me OOC and IC; offer for both combatants to back off. If the caster guy backs off but lord Elazran spits, then Elliana likely adjusts fireball landing so it hits only lord Elazran.

I wonder though he may have Diehard feat....and thus he may be already under -0 in HP and that's why commander is so worried (and explain why Lord Elazran is standing as in my post I pointed out I stop the damage until he hits -5 or so).

EBT gives a bonus of 8+caster level. to the oppose grapple check.

If she needs a 17 only to succeed the opposed grapple check, then it means that dude rolled a 16.

In that eight must be the result of the dice + caster level. EBT is 4th level. Warmage can cast it at 8th caster level. Maybe he casted it as a wizard?

Cast as wizard and rolled nat 1 :P. But Elliana got nat 20 (auto success) and I got 29, so very likely we both got free even if he forgot +8 bonus to the roll.

No, I rolled a 10. And it is casted as a warmage, so it is 28 instead of 17. I am extremely sorry, I made the same movement of fingers, only with the wrong set of keys. :(
