Re: OOC: Off-Topic Posts II

For clarification, the foot/hand holds are formed and set into the side of the permacrete shaft. That is, they don't stick out but go into the side.

There is a bit of a pre-formed lip on the edge to grab onto and a rubber coating for purchase but basically you just jam your foot or hand inside for leverage. Damaging the lip would make getting a purchase much more difficult as many are eroded or slippery.

Creative crowbar work ??  Much too noisy though.

A crowbar would be somewhat difficult to work with, considering you'd need to reach below you to damage a foot/hand hold beneath you. But you are on the right track!

We need a tube or square bar to set into the indentations.

Maybe... just maybe...

We could wedge grenades in the hand holds and pull the pin with string from above.

Re: OOC: Off-Topic Posts II

We could drop a smoke grenade once they stick their heads in -- this shaft might hold the smoke for a while ...  Suspending a couple grenades from a line might allow us to blow a small distance along the steps, also stopping them for a while.  Same thing across the shaft opening up here with us, tossing a grapple in the opening might grab the line - pulling a pin & releasing the grenade - down their shaft ...  Ouchy time.  These guys are not going to like us very much ...

Blake must watch way too many 'C' grade action vids ...  He is actually surprised blood thirsty, secretive Neva is not chipping in with some ideas, like sniping with the silencer, the lead target might fall on some of those underneath him ...

Neva, I have an idea for you ...  It involves shooting your guns.

LOL.  Gone to recover from my hitting my head and hurting my back to see that I'm blood thirsty?  Really?  :)

I'm able to sit at computer a little longer now .

Neva wouldn't mind sniping although she would rather set a trap and then snipe to set off the trap.

Lets move our buns up there then.  Nothing like being sitting groats, so to speak.  OK, climbing groats, even worse.

A climbing groat is fine.  It's when they stop climbing that you have to worry.

I am going to be out of RPOL for a couple of days.  Will catch back up on Sunday or Monday.  I'm ok.  Just mentally, physically, and financially draining week...need to recoup.

In reply to Blake Renfield (msg # 94):

Thanks. I'm kind of back.  It's that conflicting viewpoints of "no I know I need a break so I'm not going to check RPoL" and then half a minute later it's the thought of "Oh, I wonder what I am missing on RPoL".  That is what happens when you are in around 15 games.  Need to step back once in awhile and I feel better now even if I groan at going through everything to catch up.  :)

Game map is updated.

The red pentagonal figure is the installation you find yourselves in now. The red line marks the approximate path of the tunnels you followed to arrive there.

You left it with Hanno the pilot and Dumaer, near the Dome. When it got light they probably would have moved into the hills to avoid detection.

Re: OOC: Off-Topic Posts II

Do we have a good means to call the APC with a low probability of intercept?  Regardless we will probably need to stay put or at least move on foot until dark.  A thought is that we might move to cover that would allow the APC to stay low and reach us.  If we could get back into the river we could sneak out that way.

Re: OOC: Off-Topic Posts II

Or does moving off to our 12-2 o'lock provide covering terrain from the airport & other camp sites ??  The land features above the top of the map.
