We'll pack up then take all we can carry in the way of useful stuff and move back to the new planet, then on to he one with out team already in place.

The trip takes seven weeks, and is the return of your initial trip. The colony is doing well, and have made a number of friends with the locals over the 15 weeks you have been away, but there is much more to go. There have been a number of skirmishes with remaining bugs, but they are getting fewer and further between. The local tribe is learning slowly from them, and may be approaching bronze age in their understanding. Other tribes are varied in their reaction to you.

They have started mapping the planet, with the survey team escorted by the modular tank. The engineers have also started to manufacture a more significant Robofac and a smelter, but it will be a few months before it is operational.

With regards to your concerns about fraternisation, Lois and one of the security detail have hooked up, PO Tanner has hooked up with PO Bramich and Kia has settled in with Gun Da-bin. There are also jealous rumours about the medic and scientist spending many late night hours studying together.

But there are at least 10 new members who have been brought here for this reason, and Mnwa Phwi with one security member that has recovered from an injury sustained in an earlier skirmish are glad to swap out with other members and rejoin the ship as well.

I understood you were retracing your steps. You just found 1739 and 1539, so I understood from your context that you were headed to where you left some of your crew, to see if things were still quiet there. Or were you referring to 1738?

Yes. The external issues have taken the focus off any internal issues that may have existed and actually drawn folk together. Hence the relationships forming. Leaving equal numbers of male and female might be wise.

There is some social pressure in the colonies to produce children to increase the population, but other than that it is really survival mode for most.  It it doesn't effect discipline, other than a lot of kids around.

OK, Since this place seems good, we will go to the newer planets we found and put the landing party on the better of the two planets in a safe location with hunting and potential fields near by. We leave them a few ships, one being the jump one shuttle.

I presume you land on the planet with life? It has considerable dense forests, but there are also large open plains with what appears to be large sheep with light wool coats for hunting. Predators are large packs of bears, similar to cave bears, that hunt the herds in packs. They seem to be the apex predators, at least on the plains.

OK, We likely prefer a camp on the plains, but not too far from the forest, so we can gather it's benefits as well.
We use our assorted craft to build up a walled village to deter  the bear like creatures and kill one of the sheep like things for our scientists to ascertain that it is safe to eat and such biological data as may be useful. We make an attempt to contact the under water beings and establish communications. No reason to anger them with a fishing hook.

It takes a full day and then some to build a large log palisade about 2 km long, big enough for a village to be protected from the bears. Capturing a large sheep is easy enough, and they are soon declared quite safe to eat. They seem imilar genetically to Terran sheep, but bigger.

The marine creatures seem elusive and keep their distance. Do you seek a place near any body of water, or an island?

No, the camp is away from the water they may frequent, but we do have small groups go with open hands and attempt to engage with them.
Did we keep any of the Bugs with us? I don't think so, but  ...

Attempts to engage them are difficult, as they frequent deeper waters and move away when you approach them. How do you want to engage them?
