I'm finally all caught up on grading for the make-up classes I gave during my trip, but next week are midterms, so I'm still pretty busy.

I once played a sentient patch of algae that I ran like it was a huge communist camp. They would vote other parts of itself to go out, aka putting off, when ever there was confliction and then I would play it as there was a ball of matter brown dead matter that would come falling off his body. We had one PC die and when they buried him my character dropped the ball of matter on to it. He had done the same thing to creatures they had killed so the party didn't think much of it. Well it wasn't until later on, when the game was about to close, that I told them that the ball being dropped off was a ball of algae to take over the dead bodies and create a new colony.

I think our new friends know a lot about at least one small area of the city proper, (why do I think they live in the "city dump"?) so nothing wrong with duplicating that knowledge for ourselves and that alone is likely enough to complete the mission.....

....clearing a path for them to visit us in New Hope would be a second good idea...

While the player is worried about the Trash Pandas finding their wagon, the character is not.

We currently have five artifacts. Two of them need power cells to function, two of them haven't been examined in detail, and the last one will take extra time for me to learn more about. Did we want to take all this back with us for now? Or just search for power cells/money (for Johnny Cab) nearby? We can't get our cart through to us, so the three artifacts we have in there could be lost at any time (dependent on how mean our GM is).

John will support picking up at least the artifacts.

I wanted to point something out. It's very possible to circle the building and go back in through the hole in the wall you guys entered from originally in order to get the wagon.

Next week I will be travelling between Monday and Thursday...

No worries, I was going to propose that same idea, surely there is a couple ways to get there...
