Oh, it's not their fault, and even if it is, I'm also Evil Management, so...

Re: OOC: General Chat

That sounds like something I'm about to jump into, albeit without the annoying/evil upper management. This company wants to triple their production in 6 months, but they can't do it without the position they hired me for. However, they are so disorganized that I still don't know when my actual start date is, even though I finished the official interview process before Christmas (and have been ready to start as soon as they need me).

Re: OOC: General Chat

I think we've stalled because of a misunderstanding about who was waiting on whom. I see now that the last post is waiting on a response from us. I'll try to get a post up tonight.

Yes, sorry about that. I was hoping that Adele would be able to get a post in, which is why I was waiting more so than usual to remind you.

Not a problem. My week ended up being very busy, hence the petering out of my posting speed.

Re: OOC: General Chat

Ok, I'm a little stumped for ideas here.

It seems pretty obvious that Reverend Solomon is involved somehow in these attacks, but I doubt we've really enough evidence yet to risk confronting him.

Perhaps we could make a show of looking around for the beast, then make our excuses and leave, only to sneak back and stake-out the church?

What do you think, Toby, any other ideas?

One of the benefits of operating outside the law; I don't think we need probable cause to take this guy down.

We could ask him about the zombies, see how he responds...

Re: OOC: General Chat

Well, given my character, you can't exactly blame me for thinking like a cop... :P

We can go with the direct approach. I think it better if Toby asks him though, that way if he manages to deflect any blame from himself and acts like Toby is crazy, the sheriff and Frank can go along with that and maintain cover.

Also, as far as I understand, The Company isn't government backed, or if they are it's with such deniability that we'd be left twisting in the wind if we pissed off local law enforcement too much.

Re: OOC: General Chat

Correct, The Company is legally a corporate entity... at least as far as you know. You have no "official" legal sanction, but the few members of government who know what it is you do generally look the other way so long as you keep everything neat and tidy.

Re: OOC: General Chat

And for the record: I should say that I think you guys are doing a great job. In an effort to try not to railroad you, I'm intentionally only giving you the clues of which you are prompting the discovery. Otherwise it's "GM: here's the bad guy"/"Player: oh that's the bad guy so let's shoot him". There are a lot of very subtle things going on, and you are picking up on more of them than you think you are.

And some of them won't be made clear until many later chapters :)

What is the weapon Larry has drawn? Is it a ranged weapon or a melee one?

Whoops, my bad. I meant to say that it was a large revolver. He's not pointing at any one of you, just in your general direction.

Re: OOC: General Chat

As you can see, I've added a new notice thread. I was reading a book and thinking about future chapters when suddenly the idea popped into my head. I've read the idea somewhere, but not sure where.

This new thread should act as a helpful guide if you are feeling stuck, without me having to artificially remind you or point you in the right direction. (Not that you are going to feel stuck anytime soon, but it might be helpful in the future). Feel free to use this (or don't use this) as you see fit. The best thing to do is probably to make a post and then edit that post to add new things, that way your thoughts will always be at the top of the page.

Good idea! I really like that. Saves me having all my notes on my scratchpad where no-one else can see them.

Re: OOC: General Chat

I made a mistake so the last roll didn't end up mattering for anything, but look at these rolls! The dice roller is acting suspiciously non-random today.

16:47, Today: Facilitator rolled 22 using 1d20+2. opposed grapple. Natural 20
16:49, Today: Facilitator rolled 12,12 using d20+5,d20+2. opposed grapple vs frank. Tie!
16:52, Today: Facilitator rolled 25,22 using d20+5,d20+2. opposed grapple vs glen. Double natural 20
16:54, Today: Facilitator rolled 7,7 using d20+5,d20+2. opposed grapple vs frank. Another tie!

Wow, those are impressive rolls. It's got to my turn for a natural 20 sometime soon. I'm going to try pinning him again.

For some reason, the dice seems to like GMs better. I roll 20's in this game while I roll 1's in all my other games.

Re: OOC: General Chat

Same here. Frank would definitely want to investigate the email further and look into the Fellowship of the Common Path Church and this reverend Paul, but that's all stuff for back at the office. Think we're done with Ford.
