Not sure if any of the others want to see if they can join us. I think both Paragon and Senor García might object to one person…..

It is of note that there are four possible targets separated from each other by several kilometers, Winter Herald has claimed target "A" (the boat dock). Señor Garcia, Spymaster, and Paragon seem to be focused on target "B" (the house) which is already known to have an elaborate underground base beneath it. Chimp Man Z and Captain Justice are headed to target "C" (electro-static cannon or some such). Target "D" appears to be barracks, and no one has volunteered to contain the soldiers.

Well Psi-Bird had intended to go with CMZ... but the Barracks needs to be suppressed.

However, Psi-Bird's only means to "contain" the barracks soldiers would be destructive and deadly... with all those guns pointed at her she'd need to use very deadly and decisive strategies.  Did we want to keep the body count low?  Cause if she were to go there it would be high, she can't wrap the entire barracks in a TK field.. its just too big.

That's not a bad idea... Drifter could pop them around the place so they cannot be pinned down and Lady Jane with her fey magic can sow some real magical confusion... but none of them are particularly bullet resistant... not sure if any of them besides lady Jane has prowl as a skill.

Looked at it closer... Psi-Bird can put up a 50'ft sqaure TK force field... it really depends upon how many doors, windows etc the barracks has... she'd need to errect mutiple TK force fields cause I doubt a continous field could be made big enough depending upon the actual dimensions of the building.

Psi-Bird could use more subtle strategies... but I'm not certain how effective those soft-touch tactics would be when the alert went up that they were under attack at the electro-static cannon or the house when the eventual alarm was finally raised.

Spontanously combusting with pyrokinesis and 'cooking off' the ammo in their guns or in the ammo magazines they carry, telekinetically pulling the pins on their carried grenades, or teleporting live grenades to the soldier's feet just behind them where they cannot see them until its far too late can all be done without really revealing Stephany is the one doing it but... it is NOT SUBTLE... though it IS very effective if A LOT bloodthirsty.  Not really what she's about killing people... but pushed ~ her life or theirs... she's Not squeamish.

Maybe Psi-Bird, Runa, Drifter and Lady Jane would be a good 'Team Containment' for the barracks?

Most barracks I have ever lived in have two exits, not counting windows. What if Psi-Bird uses her ability to block one exit while Runa and whoever else is on the other end. Set fire to the blocked end as encouragement to go out the other side. We will then be able to fight them one or two at a time rather than the entire barracks all at once. I say use fire in order to get them to exit the open door, rather than stay inside and use cover to shoot at us. That's the point of the fire, not kill them, just panic and get them moving out the other exit where we will be waiting. AS they try to leave, breaking cover by necessity they will face us in more direct/close quarters combat. Runa has a distance attack but she has a much better chance to hit in melee combat so she would be standing up front since CMZ is tasked elsewhere.

Basically, flush them out into a bunch of weapons and powers pointed at them.  Most soldiers aren't allowed to have weapons in the barracks, unless just drawn for a mission or training, and they likely won't have ammo with them.  Barracks are not generally expected to be combat zones.

I totally agree!!! Stephany doesn't want to kill anybody if she can avoid it.

I think flushing from one end of the barracks to a waiting Runa or even better a Drifter portal to send them to say... Timbuktu, Albuquerque... or just many miles away can do just the same... remove them from the fight and any appreciable threat and Most importantly.. no one dies!

Psi-Bird can definitely block one exit with TK and with Pyrokinesis - spontaneously combust and set fire to the barracks to flush them out...

I'm just hoping that Runa can be actually useful for once. So far her track record in that regard is pretty abysmal.

If everyone would stay behind CMZ,she wouldn't be needed.  But, that never happens.
Take it from a guy who, in war, dispatched MPs to traffic accidents and called for ambulances and medevacs:  Support work IS Hero work.  In two months of patrolling a Main Supply Route,with tens of thousands of people moving along it daily, we lost 120 personnel to traffic accidents.  That's out of a minimum of 60000 people over that time period.  Though, admittedly, those deaths were one third of the total number of deaths in the war.
On a related note, 33 years ago today, my feet set foot on foreign soil for the second time in 24 hours, first (and only) time in a warzone.  In Saudi Arabia.

Believe me, I know how invaluable support MOS are. That's why I chose the power set I did for Runa. Unfortunately the only people she has ever healed have been supervillains. Remember when she gave CMZ a speed boost and all it did nothing in anyway positive for the team.

Since that incident, she hasn't had the opportunity to do anything more beneficial than a couple motivational speeches to NPCs.

That's why I am hoping that, whenever we do get around to it, this mission will finally be the time she contributes in a meaningful and positive manner.

Yeah, CMZ hasn't had that great a showing the past few times.  Boxing a giant bear's testicles.  Then trying to poke him in the eyes.  And facing down that Bio-Ghost was not fun either.  The only thing he did against the Phasing villain was keep them off balance and unable to phase back in without getting smeared.  Okay, that one is not so bad.  Suppression fire.

Did CMZ or Runa get a crack at 'Valkyrie' the assassin sent after the Senator?  If I remember he was really hard to hit at all... I didn't even try.

Nope. I reread that thread just now. Runa, again, got tricked into healing an enemy, namely the robot senator. Id forgotten about that time so thanks for the reminder ^_^

I honestly was fixated on the first time she healed an enemy, during that submarine fight. With the android senator, about the only thing useful she did was tackle him, after healing him. You know, when he got up and ran for it.

Well I think your definitely going to see some 'Action' this time... I'm just gonna focus on flushing the soldiers from the Barracks... and not burn them to death.  If its just you and me.. we'll have our hands full... worry not!

Ok. This timing sucks.
My home internet is down (snow, cables, etc) and may not be up before next Wednesday. While waiting, please indicate which group your character is joining. The four noted points are the house, the dock, the electro-static cannon, small barracks. Once your group is set, the group can discuss strategy. I'll be back when I don't have to post from the office.
