2.5: You Are Cordially Beknighted
Well that was a lot to take in and deal with. He cast a glance from the Guard back to Euryleia, eyebrows up as if only just noticing that she looked like a scaled down Armour rather than the stately Lady of a House. He rose a hand to the Valkyries and slowly lowered it, the universal gesture to stand down. At the chirurgeon's recommendation, he started to protest before his aunt shut that down entirely.
"But--!" Sigh. "Yes, auntie. Lady Euryleia, I appre--" As he looked back to her again to acknowledge her scans, his eyes naturally started on the center of her chest, at the top of the sternum, where he could get a full look at a potential target's stance, breathing, and tells of any movement before they even began, and cut himself off with a frown. His eyes go up to her face once he notices her feet.
"--what? Now is not the time. If you want to play with the Queen's Guard, there will be plenty of time after the current crisis is over, and I'm sure they'd love to oblige. As would I, honestly, but I'd rather not be taken for flirting. These ladies are on edge right now but are on our side, so be nice. But yes, thank you for the scans. We need to find out what they were doing here and if they're still in the room. Otherwise how to connect one set of particles with another to determine source and destination, as well as to determine whether a jump is between space, time, or both." And then Brun became lucid again. That brought concerning information.
"Hm. We knew you will send them, but to protect me? This cut doesn't feel very protective. Perhaps you'll send someone else and these agents weren't yours, but using the same technology. Don't worry, Sir Brun, I'm alright for now. I hate to ask, but would you be willing to accompany me to the infirmary? I'll feel better keeping you by my side, even if I feel terrible separating you from your Lady." With all that was going on, the Valkyries must have been losing their minds. Gwydion looked to his aunt.
"Our attackers are using technology I haven't finished developing yet, and we have reason to believe they came from the future. We don't know why, however. We suspect it was to assassinate me, but that is from very vague information. If they're actually on our side, trying to help prevent something so terrible they need to change history to achieve it, then finding out what it is I'm going to do to cause all this is paramount. Please remember that I trust Brun and Euryleia with my life, and I'm still alive because of them." Then his attention turns to the Queen's Guard directly. "And Lady Euryleia is only a threat to us if we endanger Sir Brun, so let's not do that, understood? Also she's a living weapon, your threatening posture is like an invitation to her, not so much a warning." Once again to the room at large.
"Alright, I'm off. Be careful, share data, and remember that there was a time traveling assassin in this room for some reason. We want prisoners, not corpses, and their suits are what allow them to move through spacetime. So, please try not to take this the wrong way when I say to strip them and contact me immediately. I'm going to go fix this." After all that, he took a deep breath and allowed the chirurgeon to start leading him away, hopefully with Brun, toward the infirmary. On the way he sent orders to have armed guard retrieve both Iliza and Rose to meet him there.
