Carricke and Onward
OK, This evening after dinner and at dusk, meet me on the top of this tower.
I will assume you pack, eat, sell your horses and have everything stacked on the top ramparts of the tower as dusk falls.
Lady Highstones meets you there and blows a whistle that makes no noise.
After a bit you hear a low chanting and one of the guards points... something is coming toward the tower and the chanting would seem to be coming from whatever it is.
After a few minutes you see that it is a large boat made out of a huge tree trunk and in the rear sits a huge man who chants as the boat come over the side and then settle on the top of the tower.. It hangs over the edges in both directions and will easily handle all your gear and the three of you.
Ah Hogard, good to see you again. These are the people who need to get to Fordham this night.
The man answers in an exceedingly deep voice Well met My Lady, it is no problem and I look forward to getting out tis night.
You get all your gear stowed and Hogard again starts to chant, the boat lifts slightly and he changes the chant, which causes the boat to float off of the tower and move toward the southeast at a pace slightly faster than a walk, and then Hogard again changes the chant and the boat picks up speed, faster than a galloping horse and Hogard guides it around the tallest hill while the boat seems to go faster and faster... your eyes water and the cool air makes your ears cold. You need to duck down to avoid the wind screaming around you as the hills float by fairly quickly. The moonis up and you can see the land below, the fires of all the forces camped in Mershall off to your right.
