Well considering that last round Grizz lost 19 HP and Grung lost 27, I'd say you might not want to count on 12 lasting you much longer. ;)

Re: COMMENT THREAD

When did you lose an extra 6 HP?

EDIT: I think you may have accidentally counted the 6 dmg on the dwarf against yourself. The demon threw spikes at him, not you.

Re: COMMENT THREAD

Heath:
Note: There had been 5 total earthrocs.  Two were killed accidentally by the cone of frost cast by Maellarean point blank.  This leaves 3 total earthrocs, meaning you will have to double up when you leave.  Including Prump, there are 6 of you:  Adaran, Borimer, Grizz, Grung, and Kahan.  If one more dies, someone must stay on the island (in addition to Prump).  :)

For those who do not remember, Prump had to return to the dwarven encampment to warn of a traitor amongst them, promising to return here.  He warned you that he may not be able to bring all of the earthrocs back because they are skittish without riders, especially in the area around the Eye of the World.  Therefore, he apparently was able to bring back 5 earthrocs.  You can only imagine that the dwarves and Maellarean saw him flying back and set out to find him at that time.

For further details, go to: link to a message in this game

I don't think we actually agreed to Prump leaving the island to warn Krugoth. That was his first idea, but this is what happened:

Heath:
The earthrocs are fidgety even coming this close.  If they go any closer, they are likely to panic and return to the mainland, which would seriously hamper your efforts.  Prump will guard them until you return, unless you wish him to return with news of the dwarves to warn the king about the spy and then return for you later.  The earthrocs will fly together in a flock with him, but there is the danger they will not all return to the island without a rider, given their preternatural fears of this place.

After this, there was a discussion among us that it may not have been a spy at the compound after all, but instead Tarimar already having knowledge of the temple's whereabouts on the island before we even reached the compound. So we never actually told Prump to warn Krugoth of a traitor.

Re: COMMENT THREAD

I kind of remember that too.  However, he may have gotten fidgety waiting and gone to warn them anyway.  His loyalty is to the dwarves.

Fair enough. Too bad he couldn't tell Krugoth who this supposed traitor could actually be. That might have been more helpful. ;)

I already mentioned that in another thread I believe, and nobody ever answered.

Well, I said something like "I'm pretty sure Raise Dead doesn't work on earthrocs", but close enough.

Re: COMMENT THREAD

The rule states this:

"When the priest casts a raise dead spell, he can restore life to a dwarf, gnome, half-elf, halfling, or human (other creatures may be allowed, at the DM's option)."

I would probably restrict it to intelligent, humanoid creatures.

They should have a raise animal dead spell or something like that...

Re: COMMENT THREAD

Note:  The new raise dead spell does not appear to be as limited as the 2nd edition. See here:

http://www.dandwiki.com/wiki/SRD:Raise_Dead

I'm open to modifying the 2nd edition.  I do tend to like the new version better, particularly that the person is raised from the dead with the number of hit points equal to his hit dice.  So instead of come back to 1 hp, you are raised to 1 hp per level.

It's also open to any "creature."

You could always pick up the dwarf's crossbow and shoot at the flying demons. ;) Or borrow Grizz's bow and some of Adaran's or Borimer's magic arrows.

How much longer does the '3 turns' go on? I know we're in Rounds mode, but it was at least a couple turns I think before the combat started.

Re: COMMENT THREAD

It was only about 2 minutes after you cleared the forest-fire that you reached the earthrocs, so if each Turn is 10 minutes, that's about 27-28 minutes left.

Heath, I assume that if anyone misses with arrows in this battle, they are lost in the water?

Re: COMMENT THREAD

Any arrows that miss go into the forest area and are lost unless you want to go searching for them, but that will take 1 turn per arrow to find them.

Did one of the dwarf's have a crossbow?  I only saw they used melee weapons.

They both carried crossbows.  They fired one bolt each and then dropped the crossbows to the ground to use melee weapons.
