The Traitor - Polyanthar (Grizz, Grung, Naj)

POLYANTHAR

Pamalan tells you where Polyanthar the bookie and gambling hall owner has his establishment.

You find a wooden structure toward the center of the compound marked "Poly's Place."  You enter the door and find...

...it is empty.

Or nearly so.  There is a barmaid putting away glasses and stowing the chairs away.

"We're closed," she says.  "Everyone's off to go to the battle and Krugoth won't let his men go to battle drunk or at each other's throats from gambling losses.  Come back when we've won the battle."  She looks more closely at you and says, "Not often we get non-dwarves around here.  But if you're looking for women, we woman dwarves also fight on the battlefield.  I've got no girls for you now."

Grizz says, "No need for any of that.  We are looking for Polyanthar.  Where might he be?"

He looked about the room, trying to gauge what was going on in here on a regular basis, what games they played, where they drank, was there a space for a band?

Naj sees there is space for all that -- bands, gambling, drinking, tables for various games.  They are all covered with blankets now, in anticipation of the battle ahead.

The barmaid leans on her broom.  "And just who might you be and what do you want with him?  All bets are final."

Grung does and says little.  He knows he is not too welcome anywhere in the keep, what with so many dwarfs and anything he might say is sure to be twisted against him.

Standing a bit apart and behind his companions, he remains a silent observer.

Grizz says, "We don't need a refund or anything.  We were sent by Krugoth to have a few words with Polyanthar."
