Re: Harkahnon Ruins 2 - Crossroads Ark

Looking around, Kahan blinks a few times, wondering what happened. "Well that was rather painless." he remarks with a smirk, headings towards the exit (or was it the entrance?) of the room.

FYI, you are in room 16 of this map -- from which there are four exits:

Re: Harkahnon Ruins 2 - Crossroads Ark

Kahan opens the western door and looks through, and Grizz opens the south doors.

The western room (#15) looks the same, but the throne is empty and there are no guards.  In the center of the room is a pile of rubble that has been scattered in a roughly 3 foot circle.

The south doors lead to a rectangular shaped room (#17).  You see stone shelves lining the walls and a shelf on each of the eastern and western wall jutting out to the center of the room.  Against the far wall (south) is a small stone pedestal upon which a book can be set to read.  The only exit is the exit in which you came.

This was obviously some sort of library in times past.  Unfortunately, the walls are now all charred black.  Any books that were in here are now part of the ashes that cover the bookshelves and line the floor.

"I say we find an exit and come back once we make sure we're on Allevia. I assume we are, but it's best to find out first." Kahan states, looking back at the rest of the group as he begins to make his way out the same way they came in, assuming the way was the same, as it appeared to be a copy of the other Ark.

Borimer follows the priest when the others are ready to go.

Harak follows the cleric, unsure of what else to do.  For the moment at least, he reappears.  He gazes around, in wonder in spite of his discipline, at what is supposed to be the world in the sky he has only looked upon.  He reflects on what he has only recently learned of the fate of his home and he regains hisself.  "We must find our purpose here, if it is indeed Allevia.  Our home is lost.  What ties could we have to this world now?"

Borimer's gentle laugh sounds too alien in this strange building and he abruptly cuts himself off.

"Our home isn't lost yet, we plan on savin' it."

Borimer looks about while staying behind to guard Grizz.

"Just not sure how yet..."

Re: Harkahnon Ruins 2 - Crossroads Ark

Grizz doesn't find anything particular in the library, but on the pedestal, he brushes off the ashes and finds an inscription that says:  "Codex Library."

He runs to catch up with the others.

Lumen and the soldier come through the globe.  They do not follow you into the side rooms but stand there getting their bearings.

Room 2 looks somewhat different.  The pillars are all standing tall.  The one in the southeast corner has not toppled, and there is no broken wall allowing a view into the room with the bunks.

There are also about 7 piles of rubble here.  Some of the rocks appear to have some sort of form to them, and then you see that each pile of rubble looks like a jumble of rock-fashioned body parts, including heads, hands, and feet.

The door on the south side of room 2 is closed, locked and flush against the wall.

Syrissa examines the piles of rubble.  "This is the work of Esylia.  She is destroying the statutes to make sure they can never be returned to their normal state."

Edmure still clutches to Syrissa's elbow.  He says, "The question is whether she is still here."

DM Heath:
Flint looks around but doesn't see the others.

As for those who touched the globe, you find yourself...standing right where you were, in the room with the globe.  It doesn't have the same tingling glow that it had, and the companions behind you are only the companions who touched the globe.  Everyone else is missing.

You notice that two of the green gems on the Ark are missing.  Otherwise, the room itself looks the same.

OOC: Keep in mind that those who touched the globe can no longer communicate with those who didn't.

Flint spends more time studying the globe and decided to cast a spell, "Run up and touching something I know little about doesn't seem like such a great idea at the moment, I need to try and figure out what happen to the others, they may need for me to call them back,

< Comprehend Languages >  Flint will study the runes on the globe trying to make additional sense of it

Re: Harkahnon Ruins 2 - Crossroads Ark

The runes appear to be written in Ancient Allevian, of which Flint is not fluent, but it is a repeating pattern of five symbols.  Based on his studies, he would say it has something to do with time.

OOC: Sorry, Flint, Ancient Allevian is the one language I use for which comprehend languages does not really work well, for reasons I explained long before you joined us, but which boil down to the fact that some of my puzzles require deciphering runes without any kind of "cheat," which would take the fun out of it.  There are only three living people known to speak Ancient Allevian, the two gnome Gurlek brothers and Zhou (whom the party transported to the Temple of Ashmere to translate the ancient ruins there for Azaron/Ashe).  However, using comprehend languages does give you a clue.

FLINT: If you are planning to stay in this room much longer, I will divide the group to preserve the dramatic effect and prevent metagaming.  Either way is fine by me.

"I can imagine that your sister left soon after she got here. Why would she bother staying?" Kahan asks, looking through the rubble to see if he could find any heads that were recognizable and showing them to Lumen to see if they were any of the lost warriors. If there were none (or after he was done rooting through them all), Kahan moved through the southern doors, careful to keep his gaze down at the floor rather than along the walls, just in case Esylia was there.

The south door is completely locked.  You remember what happened to Adaran when he tried to open it.
