Harkahnon Ruins 11 - The Demons

OOC: There was a 1 in 20 chance the demons would escape somehow while you were resting.  I rolled a "1."  I left it on the dice roller for you to verify.  So here goes...

You settle down to begin resting and planning your rest, with Borimer ready to stand guard.

Then you hear a bang, a loud thump, and another bang.  This continues several times in succession, and you realize it is coming from somewhere around the center room.

A sound of crumbling wall and rubble then meets your ears, and you realize the demons have broken through the doorway in the center room, coming south toward your location in the bunkroom.

Androlus cries out, "What was that?  What are those sounds?"  You are sure his voice can probably be heard down the hall in the direction of where those things had just broken through.

Re: Harkahnon Ruins 11 - The Demons

Yes, that's exactly right.  Remember that you now have a "hole" in the west end of room 24 that leads down to the larger pillar room on the first floor.

Here's the map of Floor 2:

Re: Harkahnon Ruins 11 - The Demons

Borimer goes to the east door and prepares to force the demons through the entrance to minimize their attacks.

"We need a plan quick, or we're making our last stand here. The large chamber with pillars is past that hole in the west wall, we could run down there for more space-"

Kahan hurries out the door and quickly casts a spell. "This should buy us some time." the priest whispered, heading back through the bunk room and down the pile of rubble. "Borimer, we need to move Androlus somewhere secure. Where do you think would be the best place? The statue control room?"

Re: Harkahnon Ruins 11 - The Demons

OOC: I'm not sure the spell "Stone Shape" allows for a wall to be built or an illusionary wall out of nothing, since it is for reshaping stone that is already there, but I'll allow it.  In lieu of the 30% failure for difficult shaping, I will use a 30% possibility that each passing demon might spot that it is not a true wall.

Kahan moves out and starts caressing the walls (2 squares above the #23), and the walls begin to flow and coalesce as he chants until it appears that there is a solid wall cutting off the bunk room area.

The party begins scrambling down through the rubble.  You are now jumping down into the southeastern part of room #2.  You do not know where the demons are at.

Re: Harkahnon Ruins 11 - The Demons

Borimer glances around and then points to the far wall (north).

"There's a secret door we took before, I think we can go to the central room where there's only one way in."

He waits only long enough for his companions to run to the secret portal before following after them, glancing behind for signs of the demons. Borimer shuts and locks any door along the way if it's possible.

i'm suggesting secret door, 33a, 32a

You successfully get behind the secret door and into the far rooms.  It does not appear as if you were spotted.

"Unless we have a way to use the Ark, we need to rest and heal up some.  Here's as good a place as any. I'll watch."

If agreed upon, Borimer will settle in to watch over the spellcatchers while they rest.

Re: Harkahnon Ruins 11 - The Demons

"I think we could try hiding in the old torture room where we found Androlus. You can spike the door into the room that holds the door then the demons should just overpass it because it's locked and they'll have no reason to get in." Kahan responds, wishing he'd have thought of it before climbing down the broken wall.

Re: Harkahnon Ruins 11 - The Demons

You will have space to rest in the secret rooms where you are at...and it will smell a lot better than the torture room.  Borimer's idea was one of about 3 ideas I had that avoid, at least temporarily, fighting the demons.
