Objectives and Key Information

OOC:  Here I will post various objectives given to you and key information so you can easily find it and don't have to go searching.

If you want to add something to this, feel free to post here.  For example, something of importance to your character and not necessarily the group.

Re: Objectives and Key Information

AILAMERE'S QUEST

1) Find the Temple of Ashmere and report back to the dragon Ailamere within 3 months.  (The Xren Codex in the temple tells where to find Augmantium.)

2) Find the dragon Augmantium (which was pulled from a rift 1000 years ago into a mountain tunnel deep inside an ancient crater).

3) Free Augmantium and send him to Ailamere within the 3 months so Ailamere can leave this world, and all she has will become yours.

You know from your history that the dragons were sent to the planet Allevia about a thousand years back, along with all the magic that was banished from Tienna (your planet).  Allevia and Tienna are sister planets orbiting the same sun.

(You briefly entered Allevia through a portal in the adventure "Bump in the Night.")

RECURRING CHARACTERS

Pearl: Pearl is a young human girl.  You saved Pearl in Rathyl's Treasure, but Rathyl had died, so you found Pearl a job at the Lounge.  She takes care of all your needs when you are there and listens in for gossip, in case you want it.

Orc Captain:  He has not given you his name (thinking non-citizens like you don't deserve to know it), and you can tell he despises non-orcs like filth, but he will give you assignments among the non-orcs that he feels are best cleaned up by a non-orc group (such as the Oakbridge murders).  He never accompanies you, but you report back to him.  Schrlok or Viduk will be sent to give you details and/or accompany you.

Shrlok:  Shrlok is a self-conscious orc who gives off more human characteristics than orc ones.  He is empathetic to you but considered weak by orc standards.  He appreciates intellect and helps investigate for the orc captain (above). However, he will occasionally give you missions to do for the orcs and was responsible for getting you the medallions which give you special privileges among the orcs.

Viduk:  Viduk was described as follows:  Orcs generally appear to be ugly and dull, but Sergeant Viduk appears to be the ugliest and stupidest orc you've ever seen.  In size, he is but a runt, with slightly misshapen shoulders and crooked eyes.  His teeth point out in all angles in a way that would make a wild boar cringe.  He tends to be awkward and clumsy.  The orc captain (above) sends him with you when he doesn't want to send someone who might actually be of help.

Grizz Henderson:  Grizz was a member of your party, but he was turned into a monster by a wizard, and even though he has transformed back now, he seems traumatized by the event and drinks himself silly in the Lounge most of the time.

ABOUT FAULBANE:

Pearl once told you information about Faulbane:

Pearl nods, and the next day reveals to Va'a about some of the history of Faulbane, how it was a borderland human barony until the war with the orcs, who decimated the dwarves to the north, drove out the elves to the west, and brought in the goblins and other allies from the east.

She tells him how Baron Faulbane was thrown into the dungeon, and how he renounced his barony and then was made as a temporary ruler over his city, now inhabited mostly by orcs.  But at least the orcs gave their former foes the inn and the small area around it where they could be relatively unmolested.

And now Faulbane is a strategic military outpost for the orcs as they strengthen their foothold and make sure the elves and dwarves have been sufficiently brought into submission.  Because it was a military stronghold before on the fringes of the kingdom, it was already well fortified with walls and armories.  It also has quick access to the forest to the west, the mountains to the north, and the farmlands to the east and southeast.

Many folks still inhabit the old buildings and were not driven out, and rumors have it that the Shadow Dawn is also stationed somewhere in Faulbane.

The river Ogawa runs through the west side of Faulbane and forms a trade route and water supply.  (It is this river which separates Oakbridge District from Faulbane Proper.)

Re: Objectives and Key Information

THE ROAD GOING EAST OUT OF PRIMSEN LEADS TO FAULBANE, ABOUT 1 WEEK'S JOURNEY BY ROAD.

This is on the outskirts of the kingdom in less developed lands.

Re: Objectives and Key Information

Guantano:  Guantano is a very bizarre gnome.  In "The Time Bandit," he gave you a necklaceg:

quote:
You take a look at the necklace.  There are at least 50 rings on that long necklace, which itself is no more than a thin leather strap, tied at the ends to allow easy access to the rings.  There are also about 30 keys of various shapes and sizes, most metallic, but a few made of wood or bone.  He holds the jingling necklace out to you, in addition to the invisibility ring and the time control ring he showed you earlier.

"Promise me you will keep these and use them to save the kingdom, yes?"
(The ring of invisibility turned out to be only a ring of invisibility with a 15 foot radius. In other words, it only made the wearer invisible to those people within 15 foot of the wearer.  Everyone else could see him, which at first made you think Guantano was deranged, since you could see him from a distance and he thought he was invisible.)

He urged you, "Go see the dragon."

He loves traps and loved to see them work.  He giggles when he thinks he's tricking people.

Derro and Duergar:  They have some sort of alliance working against humans and were part of the cause of the original war allowing the orcs to conquer the kingdom.

The derro flooded the city by breaking the dam in "The Time Bandit:"
quote:
Outside, you hear yelling in the streets.  "The dam is broken!" one says.  Another yells, "The sewers are flooded."  And a third, "It was sabotage!"

quote:
Derro are a degenerate race of dwarven stature. They have been skulking in the Underdark for ages. The derro have made a name for themselves by their marked cruelty. It is said that a derro lives for just two things: to witness the slow, humiliating death of surface demihumans, and especially humans; and the perversion of knowledge to their own dark ends.

The derro are short, with skin the color of an iced over lake (white, with bluish undertones), sickly, pale yellow or tan hair (always straight), and staring eyes that have no pupils. Their features remind dwarves of humans, and vice versa. Derro have rough skin, spotted with short coarse tufts of hair. Most derro wear a loose costume woven from the hair of underground creatures and dyed deep red or brown. Their armor is leather, studded in copper and brass. Leaders wear tougher, kather armors, made from the hides of beasts far more rugged than cattle.
