Character Creation Summary

REQUEST TO JOIN
Follow these steps:
 1. RTJ must include character name, race, class, and a description of your expectations for this game. Keep post under 300 words. Official Paizo material only.
 2. Wait for the GM to give you a character sheet in the Character Details section and PM you when it's ready.
 3. Build a character using the steps below and reply to your initial RTJ with a request for approval.
 4. The GM will approve your character or ask you to fix things and then resubmit for approval. You cannot play until you're approved.

ABILITY POINTS
You have 25 ability points to generate your ability scores. You cannot lower ability scores for extra points!

BUILD POINTS (BP)

The Arena does not use XP or GP. You start with 10,000 Build Points (BP). You buy your race, level, and equipment with BP. Only use official Paizo-published Pathfinder materials unless noted otherwise here. If you do a good job building your character without errors on the first try and follow ALL the instructions given, you could get up to 5,000 additional BP. You just need to PM me the link to the other game and ask the other GM to send me a message confirming that character is you.

Leveling Up
You buy your total character level using the following table for BP cost. You gain ability boosts, hit points, skill ranks, feats and class features for level ups, as normal.

Equipment
1 BP = 1 GP. You are assumed to have basic clothing without calculating cost and weight as long as it doesn't exceed 10 lbs. or 10 gp. You otherwise buy and carry everything else as you see fit. If you have an Item Creation feat, you gain anything you craft on your own for half price but can't use it to turn a profit.

Automatic Bonus Progression
You can pay BP as if you were 2 levels higher and gain the Automatic Bonus Progression for your actual level (including mythic) in exchange. This makes it a lot easier for characters who aren't equipment heavy or dependent.

Races
If your race costs 10 RP or lower, you pay no BP to play it. If it costs 11 to 20, you pay a +1 level adjustment. 21-30 is a +2 level adjustment, and 31-40 is a +3.

You can add alternate racial traits or possibly remove racial traits to customize RP cost (minimum 5 maximum 40). Ask the GM about what exactly you can do.

If you invest your 1st and 11th level feat into the Advanced Race feat, this lowers your level adjustment by 1. You can invest your 3rd and 13th level feats to lower it by 2 and your 5th and 15th level feats to lower it by 3 (minimum 0).

CLASSES

Be aware of what classes are allowed.

Hit Dice
Player characters, monsters, and permanent minions (cohorts, companions, eidolons, familiars, special mounts) maximize all their Hit Dice. Only temporarily summoned or conjured creatures do not (ex. Summon Monster, Summon Nature's Ally, etc.)

Multiclassing
You can use classic multiclassing or Variant multiclassing from Pathfinder unchained, but not both. If you multiclass, you cannot take levels in hybrid classes. You also cannot have levels in more than 1 prestige class or 2 non-prestige classes. Unchained classes are allowed.

Mythic Tiers
You can purchase mythic tiers with BP if you have both veteran and sensei status. Each mythic tier costs the same as +1 level to your existing level. So being level 8 and having mythic 2 would cost you BP as if you were a 10th level character. The maximum mythic tier you can have is equal to 1/2 your actual level (rounded down).

Caster Level
All "caster levels" are unified into Arcane, Divine, Occult, and Primal. Bards, witches, and psychic magic classes are all occult. Druids, rangers, hunters, and shamans are primal. Sorcerers, bloodragers, eldritch scion magi and any other spellcasters with bloodlines must pick one of these options at 1st level, whichever matches their bloodline most appropriately. Other casters retain their current type (arcane or divine). SLAs vary based on whichever skill would normally identify the creature Arcane = Knowledge (Arcana or Engineering), Divine = Knowledge (Religion), Occult = Knowledge (Dungeoneering), Primal = Knowledge (Nature), Knowledge (Planes) = varies by plane. So if you multiclass between spellcasting classes of the same tradition, you add the two class levels together to get your caster level. For example, a Magus 4/Wizard 6 would be an Arcane Caster Level 10 for both Magus and Wizard spells because they are both Arcane. However, a Bard 5/Druid 5 would be Occult Caster Level 5th and Primal Caster Level 5th since they are different spellcasting traditions.

Templates
You can purchase a template with BP if you have both veteran and sensei status. A template's CR adjustment is effectively the level increase it is applying (rounded down). For example, applying a +2 CR template would treat your character as 2 levels higher than they actually are for the purposes of BP cost.

TRAITS
No traits or flaws except via taking the Additional Traits feat.

HERO POINTS

Characters in the arena earn hero points for winning competitive PvP matches. There is no limit to how many hero points a character can stock up, but they can only spend up to 3 of them in any one match. Hero points in this game can only be used in the following fashions: Bonus, Cheat Death, Extra Action, Reroll. They cannot be used to perform any of the other options not listed here. If used to Cheat Death, you are reduced/increased to 1 hit point instead of killed by whatever effect would've killed you. If the effect would've killed you in other ways, you are dropped as far as you can go without dying (ex. Con drain stopping at reducing you to 1 instead of 0).

ARENA RESET

All stats reset after each arena fight (no permanent ability drain or level drain and resurrections are free and so forth) and you have advantage (roll 2d20 take best result) on saving throws against instant death, paralysis, petrification, stun, unconsciousness, and other instant KO effects while you have 50% HP or more. You also ignore the penalties from level drain and take half damage/drain from ability damage/drain while you have 50% HP or more.
