Re: Monster Mash #5: Ankou vs. Edward vs. Grunyar vs. Thraxis

I think it should probably count as difficult terrain once the Ankylosaurus is away from A1. The barriers are only half his height, it'd be like a 2 foot tall obstruction in a medium creature's square.  Also, I think he might be better expressed as standing in B2-E4 but I'll take the penalties as posted until I get a turn to move him if you guys want.  (As the first poster I assumed we had to be partially in our exact corner or squeeze, forgetting that that pillar goes all the way to the ceiling and I was reminded of it when I saw you guys posting your creatures offset to the sides.)

OOC: There is/was a roof on those walls you need to break to move I would guess?

The map is guerilla station small right?

Oh goodness, yes, roofs.  Ugh.  Um . . . do we want to agree as a group that the currant map is silly and that really we should probably just do colosseum with monsters of this size?

OOC: To that I will disagree with you both knew it was a small random map to choose a monster bigger than large is a potential issue.  Had we gotten Colosseum or chess you two would a nice advantage that was your gamble.

OOC: Yeah, this is why everyone has to agree to all these details. Stuff like this CAN happen. If you agreed to it, you're accepting all potential possibilities.

You just count as squeezing until you break your container if you don't quite fit. Standard masonry should be no problem as a break DC for such big and strong monsters you choose. Bwahahaha! Enjoy those Strength checks (or full attacks if you think damage it is faster).

POSITION:  H1

DICE ROLLS: -
Ankou rolled 10 using 1d20+6 with rolls of 4.  Stegosaurus Initiative.
Ankou rolled 33 using 4d6+21 with rolls of 2,1,5,4.  attack wall I4,+1 ( power attack) .

quote:
Stegosaurus is trapped, it attacks the wall. Section I4,+1 takes 25 damage and is destroyed.

Apparently to break down a section of wall is a DC35 Str check. Even with massive beasts, that's no piece of cake. I guess we'll have to damage the wall section by section then... Each 10ft by 10ft section of wall has 90hp, which means each 5ft by 5ft section has 23hp. And hardness 8.

Arkrim, do you have an opinion on when the roof falls down? And when we break a lower section of a wall, does the upper section tumbled down or does it stay up (if it is still attached to the side) ?

This is not going to be quick and painless, but it will be fun!

Re: Monster Mash #5: Ankou vs. Edward vs. Grunyar vs. Thraxis

Grunyar, I'll have my turn up later, but as you haven't taken the 1 hour action to make your staff, I'm pretty sure you don't have it.  I'd be willing to let you re-take your last turn to begin forming it.  :-P  (This is why I made the offer earlier of saying we take an hour off to let you make your staff while the dino's level the playing field.)

Ankou, Arkrim pointed us to the size bonus for breaking stuff.  You may want to look at that.  Huges get a +8

Also, if there are roofs, my dino would have to be on the roof, as he could not fit in the building - he'd be in an area under a quarter his size.

OOC: The staff is part of her build out/stats like the body for Nyssa's Vermlek so she comes in with it.
As far as where you start guess see what the others say or ask GM.

Re: Monster Mash #5: Ankou vs. Edward vs. Grunyar vs. Thraxis

OOC: The rooftops don't specify how thick they are but originally I had imagined them being very thin leather tops, just enough to grant cover. As standard masonry determines walls and ceilings, even if they had been 1-inch stone, the weight of huge and gargantuan monsters would've crushed the roofs anyway. So forget the roofs. They are either non-existent or already rubble.
