Re: OOC Discussion 6

I think you can use a manual, but it's probably more cost-efficient to get a belt or headband...
And the item would have to still appear on your character sheet.

 A +1 costs 27k, that's 270BP... probably not worth the investment.

Re: OOC Discussion 6

It maybe for me...I will not be purchasing any major armor or weapons. So that sacks a lot of my Cost towards Items for my build. Right now I setting with 4 unused item slots when I am done.

In reply to Erin Zilryn (msg # 930):

That may be a good GM question, beings the magic leaves the book and goes to you is it considered an effect outside the arena which would not be allowed per initiative bullet in rules thread.

You may want to iron out your challenge post so you are not holding thread up while you get it ready.

I noticed how monster are chosen at random for PVE. Might I suggest making use of this https://donjon.bin.sh/pathfinder/encounter/ No counting the number you have to roll and Generates based on level.

The effect is the same. I just saved time. I am still allowed a response after your post.

Side note, I've had more of an exhilarating rush from these matches than any Society Organized Play or home game.

Re: OOC Discussion 6

Construct and Fort saves vs Blinding effects.

From what I'e seen(monster abilities, spells, SLAs, etc), an effect that would render one blind is a fort save. Constructs are immune to for saves except those that work against objects and are harmless. Constructs are not immune to being blind.

http://www.d20pfsrd.com/bestia...-types#TOC-Construct

Traits:
A construct possesses the following traits (unless otherwise noted in a creature's entry).

No Constitution score. Any DCs or other Statistics that rely on a Constitution score treat a construct as having a score of 10 (no bonus or penalty).
Low-light vision.
Darkvision 60 feet.
Immunity to all mind-affecting effects (charms, compulsions, morale effects, patterns, and phantasms).
Immunity to bleed, disease, death effects, necromancy effects, paralysis, poison, sleep effects, and stunning.
Cannot heal damage on its own, but often can be repaired via exposure to a certain kind of effect (see the creature's description for details) or through the use of the Craft Construct feat. Constructs can also be healed through spells such as make whole. A construct with the fast healing special quality still benefits from that quality.
Not subject to ability damage, ability drain, fatigue, exhaustion, energy drain, or nonlethal damage.
Immunity to any effect that requires a Fortitude save (unless the effect also works on objects, or is harmless).
Not at risk of death from massive damage. Immediately destroyed when reduced to 0 hit points or less.
A construct cannot be raised or resurrected.
A construct is hard to destroy, and gains bonus hit points based on size, as shown on the following table.
Proficient with its natural weapons only, unless generally humanoid in form, in which case proficient with any weapon mentioned in its entry.
Proficient with no armor.
Constructs do not breathe, eat, or sleep.

Examples of things the render one blind.

http://www.d20pfsrd.com/magic/...b/blindness-deafness

http://www.d20pfsrd.com/bestia...on/dragon-mithral-kp

http://www.d20pfsrd.com/bestia...r-listings/fey/nymph

Now, Tinna has pointed out that there are some blinding effects that have no save(power word blind). But I have pointed out that those effects that require no save are illegal if they also require no attack action. To make one arena legal a save or attack action is needed and more than not, a blind effect will require a Fort save. So, in fairness of the arena, would a stream of liquid substance that would cover an object just the same effect Tinna the construct?

The only exception I've seen so far being, Glitterdust.

Can someone paste the code to NOT include Tinna and Grunyar?

In reply to Tinny Tina (msg # 944):

Yeah sorry. You're right you mentioned will save spells after. We posted at the same time. So I didn't see it until after posting.

The only reason I feel this effect works is because it is a liquid substance getting in your eyes( as a liquid substance could cover a rock for instance). Not a, "look at you and you go blind," effect as the nymph. Which looking at a rock would do nothing.

But again, could be nothing.

Re: OOC Discussion 6

Damn....well, I think Jayce has officially superseded Bruhli for the position of "Resident Rules Lawyer". LOL.

But yeah, save vs. Blindness could be any depending on the effect.

Directly manipulate target's body: Fortitude.

Throw something in target's eyes: Reflex.

Raw magic or mind-affecting: Will.

So a construct would be immune to any blinding effect that targeted Fortitude but not Reflex or Will.

Re: OOC Discussion 6

Alright excellent. Thank you.

Grunyar, by wording I think so. It says, "stream of poison."

Edit: Noticed you gave me two options. It is a poison but it is a stream of poison. that specifically gets into your eyes.

But GM Arkrim already chimed in and I"m going with that.

Re: OOC Discussion 6

Do you want something out if the ordinary or just a classic arena fight?
I don't mind either way. No one ever played the pirate ship, I think. That could be fun.
With a couple of dire sharks in the waters, for good measure.
Normal light and terrain. Prep round?

Always up for something fun, So large Colosseum (terrain is water) or Large The Islands, a couple dire sharks in the water and the ship aswell?  As prep goes don't matter to me I'm happy with 1 unless you want more/less.

If you want to up your winnings I could take a temp BP bump to move me to 1200 or so BP.

61 as is on a win
76 @ 1200
83 @ 1300
89 @ 1400

Re: OOC Discussion 6

Is the pirate ship flying? It seems it is. I'd want one that floats.
Yep to colosseum with water, 100ft deep. 1d4+1 dire sharks circle the ship, they won't attack anything that stays on board.
I'm fundamentally opposed to temporarily raising BP. What's the point in having to fight for BP if you can just raise your BP count for a battle assuming all parties agree to it?
I could lower my BP, although I'd rather give you some beneficial extra to offset the levels difference.
No flight, no invisibility, no summon... You pick.
