Vile, seeing her teammate struck, dropped her bow and lunged forward with her sword. Swinging wildly across the canyon she fails to pierce the creature's hide.

The long-necked dino continues to slap people into the dirt. It recoils from the lightning bolt, confused and animalistic, it has no idea what to make of it other than getting angrier.

OOC: Maps getting a little crowded. Sorry about the concelment Ann but as long as there is more than 5 feet of fog between you and the dinosaur you should not trigger opportunity attacks. you might have triggered one on your last turn as you were still in range of the attack after your first 5 feet. If you had delayed your action till after the fog cloud then you would have been ok. I'm hoping the gm might allow this as play by post can be harder to micro manage turn order.

edit: forgot a few f's

SUMMARY: Vile deals 57 damage to the creature

OOC: I had the wrong attack bonus entered (should have been +15 and +10, respectively) as I forgot the +1 for haste. That made the fifth attack hit so I added that on the end... but it missed because of fog anyways so no big deal

OOC: Ignore attack and miss chance, that was just to hold the spot so I can copy paste it later (as it makes a Perception every round to hear where you are I figure its easier to do it this way). It can only double move this round. Got any spells that are more damaging or that can stun it? Do Vile or Vorsheel have any items Avin can grab to help? Your corpses and gear are still sitting there.

OOC:you moved me down a space on the map during your turn,
Unfoutnately I don't have any stronger spells however I believe I can win. In less Im missing something I can move twice as far as you can in a single action as you can in two actions, thus i should be able to say ahead of you. next with the mist you don't get an aoo so you moving into to range is not enough, you need to be within one space. I have plenty of call lightnings with my spontaneous domain casting and when I need to cast it I can retreat to the bottom of the pit where i'm too far down to be hit for the full round cast. each call lighting by it's self does around 5.5 damage when not saved. that's probably at least 30 damage per cast. I have 2.5 of them left so i should be able to wittle  barney's hp down to nothing while staying one step ahead. It just might take a while.

OOC: YES! That's absolutely right! Given your excellent use of the fog and your speed it literally can't attack you as long as you never move simultaneously out of the fog and into its reach.

In fact, I can't even move as far as I did before, that was an error as movement through the fog is considered obscured vision (meaning we both move half our normal speed). But the monster's speed is already halved because it treats the valley as difficult terrain making it even slower than I thought.

Looking back, if fog had been your first spell, you guys would've slaughtered this thing from the start. Miss chance hurts the 1 target with 1 attack far more than the 3 attackers with 3-8 attacks.

Even without powerful damaging spells, it looks like you've created a checkmate for this monster. It could try to squeeze to you but it'd take at least 1 minute even if it were successful (@ 5.25 dmg/round that's 52 more damage to its 38 hp assuming it gets neither unlucky nor lucky).

I can't believe I'm saying this because I NEVER say this: I yield. There is no possible way for this monster to win unless you somehow decided to do something different than EXACTLY what you're doing.

I've been running this arena for years and that is the first time I've ever been convinced to yield. Bravo, Avin. I tip my hat to you, sir.
