I can see that train of thought

Here’s my train of thoughts:
Pulling the ref’s sleeve and asking them to give out fouls is the pinnacle of poor sportsmanship.
Rules lawyering is part of the game and I’ve engaged thoroughly in this, and I understand the will to be unforgiving in a championship more so than in an other fight, but requesting that your opponent be given a foul is a weak man’s strategy to « win ».

But then we have a ref who makes a call whilst hoping it will be overturned... I suppose I have been naive for thinking players should surrender to the ref’s decisions. Apparently arguing with the ref is also part of the game now.

I keep thinking I should stop mulling over this and move on, but I’m somehow compelled to rant...
Latro, Brakt, I should stress that I’m not one to hold a grudge, so even if I’m sour and may sound mean now, I’m still looking forward to playing with you all.

For future reference, I am not supposed to step in unless someone summons me. I've done so in the past because I'm nosy but I'm not supposed to.

As a ref, you need to make good calls. As a player, when the ref doesn't make good calls (and you're certain of it), you need to call the GM.

I'll be honest, if the ref is disqualifying you, that's a good reason to call me. If I rule against the player, what else am I going to do? Disqualify you again? As long as you're not being belligerent or causing a flame war, you've got nothing to lose at that point. Call me in next time.

I do not like the outcome of this match and even though Josep is disqualified, I'm not going to hold that against him as far as player ban. I'm striking this from the record for those purposes.

But the match is what it is.

A new NPC championship has taken the belt.

A new Battle Royal Championship will be underway soon.

And I want Latro to ref the next Championship and Josep to run the NPC.

Because I'm funny like that.

Also unless I'm missing something you're not a Veteran so you're not allowed a shot at the belt.

Currently the only active veterans are Tinny Tina, Brakt, Ugrim, and Madam Opal. (And also Josep and my self who are ineligible due to the rules of the arena)

now granted, IF i decide i want Latro to ref the championship, i could not also have Ugrim participate and IF i decide to have Ugrim participate, i would not be able to have Latro ref.

Arkrim, is your request for Latro to ref more of a demand or just a funny jest towards Josep and I and not exactly something i have to abide by?

Ah, before the update that happened like today, there was nothing in the rules about only veterans becoming champions as far as I could tell - only about challenging the champion. But now it says the npc will challenge all veterans, so that’s settled... allow me a moment to adjust my character for the added extra, Tina, and I’ll be ready to go!

Also, Arkrim should probably clarify his intentions - as it seems right now to be decided on a Brakt vs NPC or Brakt vs Tina vs NPC for the belt, if Latro’s count is correct :p

@Latro & Josep: I'm not allowed to demand it, but I can take as long as I want making this NPC and if I don't get what I want it might be FOREVER. How bad you want that belt? Somebody else has to win it if you're going to take it from them. *dangles carrot*

Sounds good, How about Large Tier Ring with the special : Random square adjacent to the Pillars (##) when moved into or occupied by a Gladiator summons a non magical beast (lion, Tiger, Bear, T-rex, ...)of 3/4 average CR of the Gladiators controlled by GM/ref and is immune to all control spells or abilities and is "chained" to said pillar only able to move 2 squares from it's Pillar. All beasts act at the end of a round but on first summons rolls initiative if it beats the play who summoned it it may take a standard action.

Be like the Roman Colosseum floor opens up out pops a Tiger if you get to close it mauls you.

I mean... Might take a bit longer, but if that's what you want :)

@Gryunyar. I'll still fight you if you want after we're both done reffing matches. Arkrim did just basically say he was holding the champion's belt ransom until i was ready to ref and josep was ready to NPC. :P

also it seems that when someone get's DQed, no rewards are distributed whatsoever if it's a duel. Moreover, it seems like the match is treated like it never happened as I am not short any more hero points than when i challenged the champion.
