The rest of my turn was casting quickened Enlarge Person.

Also, not sure if this is what you're asking, but for Black Tentacles, "the entire area of effect is considered difficult terrain while the tentacles last."

Quick question before I move to my combat actions: Does hardness cause energy attacks to deal half? The relevant quotes, I believe, are:

"Energy Attacks: Energy attacks deal half damage to most objects. Divide the damage by 2 before applying the object’s hardness. Some energy types might be particularly effective against certain objects, subject to GM discretion."

and

"Hardness: Each object has hardness—a number that represents how well it resists damage. When an object is damaged, subtract its hardness from the damage. Only damage in excess of its hardness is deducted from the object’s hit points."

I was under the impression that the first quote is referencing most objects, for which the division by two is a feature, and that particular bit is intended to clarify that you divide first, then subtract. The second quote, which defines the effects of hardness itself, only mentions subtracting hardness from damage.

Edit: Also, my cohort casted, then moved, so no AoO, if I am understanding things correctly.

Lastly, can I get a clarification on whether the +5 noted in the Black Tentacles spell description is in addition to the normal +5 from maintaining a grapple (mentioned in the combat post in which I cast it)? The relevant quotes are, from Black Tentacles spell description:

"The black tentacles spell receives a +5 bonus on grapple checks made against opponents it is already grappling, but cannot move foes or pin foes."

And, from grapple rules:

" If your target does not break the grapple, you get a +5 circumstance bonus on grapple checks made against the same target in subsequent rounds."

The fact that the first bonus is untyped, and mentioned along with other effects, makes me think it might be separate, if very similar.

The AoO is going through. Either from 10ft of movement or from casting after moving. Generally, unless otherwise stated, the player character goes first. All else follows after. You may have noticed I used delay actions in previous matches to clarify order. However, in your case, you did roll an init for them separately. So either Kecil casting forced cohort to move and then you cast provoking aoo or you moved 10ft and provoked aoo. To avoid aoo, you can 5 ft step or use acrobatics.

Stony Defense (Su)

A number of times per day equal to its Hit Dice, a foo creature can harden its skin to unyielding stone as an immediate action. It gains hardness 8 until the end of its next turn, but its speed is reduced by 10 feet for the same duration.

Based on reading, don't see why the (X/2) - 8 wouldn't apply. it becomes stone.

Ah, the Foo Lions have 10 foot reach. I had thought they were more like normal lions, with 5 foot. Okay, then my cohort will make the concentration check... and fail it, so the spell fizzles.

13:50, Today: Kecil rolled 17 using 1d20+12 with rolls of 5.  Cohort concentration.

As for the hardness, while "harden skin to unyielding stone" sure sounds sturdy, the fact remains that the 1/2 damage from energy is under object qualities and not hardness qualities. Since it is a creature gaining hardness, it would be my interpretation that only the effects of hardness (reducing damage taken by the hardness value) apply. However, since you believe otherwise, I asked for ref ruling, which I await.

Foo Dogs are creatures, so the energy damage does not get halved before applying their hardness.

I believe the +5 in the black tentacles spell is meant to be reminder text, and so does not stack with the +5 mentioned in the description of grapple.

Eidolon attempts to move through my foo lions and does not make a check. So he fails. That or he attempted to squeeze past and which takes more movement.  I want a rule check on those movements. It could be from previous turns but to move through an enemy's square requires a cmb check. Unless of course the eidolon can fly?

Tinny, 5 ft step out of ground would make him mostly under still given his size. That would give me cover vs him because he is basically no different than being lower elevation? Would his reach work that far? For Vincent, Heka is at his feet and for Jayce a distance away. If Hekas reach is 15ft would it be enough to reach jayce?

Or is he the same elevation currently?

I'm not Tina, but here's a quote and link on the subject, if you'd like:

"Big Creatures and Cover

Any creature with a space larger than 5 feet (1 square) determines cover against melee attacks slightly differently than smaller creatures do. Such a creature can choose any square that it occupies to determine if an opponent has cover against its melee attacks. Similarly, when making a melee attack against such a creature, you can pick any of the squares it occupies to determine if it has cover against you."

Which shows that a Huge creature without reach threatens the entire 35x35 foot square around the space it occupies.

I'll go ahead and concede. I am quite confident I could slay cohort and heka. I'm not sure I could follow through against kecil. Losing my turn I lost aoos vs heka moving and killing cohort last round.

I need to clarify side rule for my posting times. Sigh. Good match though. My first loss!
