Re: Monstrous Royal #1: Boadicea v. Groppo v. Latro v. ???

"Enough of this!" Latro shouts. "Abandon your liquid terrain henceforth! No longer shall you walk upon the boiling acid!"

These words of Latro's carry a strangely magical tone to them. As if the listener's will was not strong enough, thy would have to abide by those words fully.

Re: Monstrous Royal #1: Boadicea v. Groppo v. Latro v. ???

suggestion is an SLA for drow nobles. ;P
No verbal, somatic or material components required.

Edit: In fact no spells i have prepared require me to use material components except one. The weird thing is, it doesn't actually list anywhere in the spell what the material component is so it could be air for all i know. :P

Boadicea laughs at Latro's try to control her (the force is not with you Latro :p). She then moves across the SW quadrant.

Re: Monstrous Royal #1: Boadicea v. Groppo v. Latro v. ???

Bless my everliving soul. This is just ridiculous.
I mean, if you've got the hero points to burn then be my guest, you're going to run out eventually though.

Side note, I told you the wrong duration for agonizing rebuke. It should be 7 rounds because an Anti-paladin's caster level is 3 - their class level.

I'll have my combat turn up sooner or later.

Edit: Actually, I'm calling shenanigans.
and here's why:
Hero Points These are not awarded by level up, only by PvP wins. These can only be used 1 per round and up to 3 per match [...]:

By my count Boadicea has used 7 hero points this match alone which in itself is an outstanding feat and how she racked up that many is beyond me but if that's really how many she has, that's how many she has.
However it did not occur to me until perusing the rules that you can only use three hero points a match. So i'm going to call in the GM to override that last hero point, resulting in Boadecia failing her will save and forcering her to abide by the suggestion i implanted in her mind.
She can have that one hero point  back, obviously, GM willing, but it sure would have been nice to know about this rule the last 3 times she's thrown a hero point at something. then this match might have been over by now. :P

For the rest of the match, no more hero points.

Because you added the wrong modifier to your roll, i'm going to ask that you use the roll you rolled for the will save minus the boost from the hero point.
Beyond that, feel free to do as I tell you. ;P

Re: Monstrous Royal #1: Boadicea v. Groppo v. Latro v. ???

This brings me no great pleasure, but i have to call 48 against Boadicea for not taking her revised turn 48 hours after her negated turn.
GM, seeing as she rolled a failed will save, i dont think she can even take a total defence until she is actually on land but i leave it to your discretion.

Edit: unless we're counting from when the GM gave his official ruling on boadicea's hero point usage, in which case you still have roughly 5 hours from this post. so ignore me until then.

Feeling the need to leave the acid Boadicea whieghs her options then sadly she drops her defensive shield into the acid then returns her offensive shield to it's sheath on her back she then moves over to the nearest column and starts to climb it.

That's... actually a really clever way to satisfy the conditions of suggestion. Granted, you're stuck on that pillar now, but hey, thats some good thinking.

Quick question though, your position says you're at E14 but your actions say you're at D15. Which is correct?

Re: Monstrous Royal #1: Boadicea v. Groppo v. Latro v. ???

Latro walks down the edge of the bridge until he is directly across from Boadicea. "You're much more clever than I gave you credit for, Boadicea. At every turn, you've managed to foil my plans. But this one time, you've made a fatal mistake."
Calling on the last of his reserves of dark heroic power, Latro's hand begins to emit a terrible darkness. "You would have done better to escape to the mainland, Boadicea. But now, that pillar will be your grave and there is no escape left for you."
Casting his spell, the dark energy shoots out from his hand and into Boadicea's heart where it manifests a loathing so powerful against Latro it causes boadicea to retch in disgust.

"YES!" Bloodrender bellows. "SHOW HER ENDLESS TORMENT. MAKE HER SUFFER FOR ATTEMPTING TO STRIKE AT ME!"

Re: Monstrous Royal #1: Boadicea v. Groppo v. Latro v. ???

Need a GM call on swift justice or latro just get HP back and negate action making it my turn.

I have to call out that there is a material component and you agree that you do not have a spell component pouch.  It does not say what said material is and even if it had all you needed was to list a free item provided for and not count against item count for this match.  Reading the first line under the quoted text below I do not believe the object of the loathing is the material required as first line says it is annihilated by the spell (unless you are committing suicide by all means you can be it :p).

quote:
Material (M)

A material component consists of one or more physical substances or objects that are annihilated by the spell energies in the casting process. Unless a cost is given for a material component, the cost is negligible. Don’t bother to keep track of material components with negligible cost. Assume you have all you need as long as you have your spell component pouch.

Re: Monstrous Royal #1: Boadicea v. Groppo v. Latro v. ???

Character Sheet:
Free Gear | Backpack, belt pouch, dagger, sling, component pouch, spellbook

Character Creation:
Each character will be limited to carrying up to 20 items, regardless of their carrying capacity, wealth, or slots. In addition, a character gets basic clothing, a backpack, a belt pouch, a dagger, a sling, a spellbook and spell component pouch for free (these don't even count against your limit or carrying capacity).

Everyone has this free gear on them automatically...unless they specifically notate that they don't have it (because its costs no GP or weight to have 1 of each of these in this arena).

At any point did Latro specifically declare NOT having these? Otherwise, he does.

Re: Monstrous Royal #1: Boadicea v. Groppo v. Latro v. ???

quote:
GEAR LIST
You MUST list all your items in each combat post (see Posting in Battle). You may list hidden equipment as a private message to the GM but drawing hidden items is a standard action instead of a move. If you fail to list your gear in your first combat post, you are assumed to have brought NONE into the match! Nobody can take more than their heavy load into the arena or on their character sheet. All items weigh at least 0.1 pounds, even scrolls, amulets and rings.

doesn't the quoted rule from the "Notice: Arena Competition Rules (Read Third) (public)" say unless posted in original post he did not bring it?

Re: Monstrous Royal #1: Boadicea v. Groppo v. Latro v. ???

I read your post and respectfully disagree the number one thing that is preached is specifically stated things Trump all and it states if you did not bring it the item is not on your person.

I believe at one time it was even said they had to be on your post I will do some digging.

Re: Monstrous Royal #1: Boadicea v. Groppo v. Latro v. ???

I could not find reference to the free items needing to be in post however I still contend that in your quotes no where does it state they are automatically on the charracter and if that is your new rule cool.

I still say he is unable to cast the spell as items not listed where an opponent can see are hidden and hidden items are in the backpack and require a standard action to retrieve.
