It was supposed to be "Do you wanna to fuck" oh well....

Ralph isn't schizophrenic, but most likely psychotic.

Re: OOC IV Tolkeen

So... some of you guys have been going for five years. Do you think this game will still be going five years from now? If so, how far into the whole Tolkeen war do you think we'll all get (I still can't quite tell where in the timeline this all takes place)?

Five years is really impressive, by the way. The longest running game I've been in is coming onto its second-year anniversary this December. It has a really low metabolism, though. With only five players (including the GM), the posting rate is something like 1/week.

Well, given this game hasn't progressed more than a few months... we might get to the end of the war in a decade ^^

Re: OOC IV Tolkeen

It is September 107 PA.

I want to eventually play out the final battles of the war, where all of the Tolkeen players will be forced to stay and fight to the death on the streets of Tolkeen, or retreat (or help civilians retreat, which *could end up in death).

I would probably run a game after the war as well with the same characters, or some of them.

Re: OOC IV Tolkeen

Just so everyone is aware it would be considered illegal to kill surrendering soldiers.

It is not illegal to leave them be.

What this means is that Portia was breaking the law and would have been court martialed for brutality - which would have likely had her rank stripped and she could have done jail time or faced execution.

Dyvalis' most recent order puts him in the same boat. If this is reported by ANYONE, he will also lose his ranka nd could face jail time.

Either way he is out of the game after this is over...

Tolkeen doesn't employ murderers.

Now, we all know that laws can be broken if they go unnoticed. So if everyone were to agree to kill the CS guys here, there would be no issue. But Dyvalis should know that it will only take one and it will be investigated. And when a Kingdom does an investigation - they have psychics and all that jazz, so they will find out.

Dyvalis, this is your one chance to rephrase your order of executing POWs. Otherwise you will be labeled a murderer, and you will be charged with brutality when next with superiors.

Re: OOC IV Tolkeen

If you want a good solution so no PC gets stuck delivering POWs. You could call in reinforcements to pick them up - that shouldn't take too long.

Or you could leave a few (NPCs) to watch over/escort them back to a base.

Or you could proceed with the brutality... but don't be surprised if you don't survive long enough to get court martialed. The majority of the group would rather smoke your ass themselves...

I haven't gotten to shoot nearly enough people in this game so far and homicide is even better when it's justified! ^_^

A small technicality....the surrendering soldiers have to first become POW's before they are under the protection of any laws that govern POW's.

Dyvalis, I only got busted down to Sgt for committing murder, so it can't be that bad.....

Re: OOC IV Tolkeen

Well soldiers with their arms in the air, and not fighting pretty much means they are trying to become POWs.

This would be like that scene in Private Ryan with the 2 germans who get shot surrendering... "Look ma I washed for supper"

It is most definitely murder, by any definition.

Drano was busted down because nobody saw him do it except van, and some civilians. It wasn't 'confirmed' - and it was kept quiet.

But an officer doing it in front of the whole team - in fact ordering others to do it - that can't be hidden. That would have to go in his mission report, and based on Silvermasque's protest - it will be going in his report.

And right there, Dyvalis is up for trial.

So great, I think that makes me the highest ranking Tolkeen regular....and Silvermasque the highest ranking tolkeen merc.

We really gonna have the same two players as the command characters in both the Tolkeen and CS groups?

No Drano has already proven he is too incompetant for leadership.

I would have to introduce a new player or NPC...

This depends on how Dyvalis proceeds.

Hey, if people really don't like Nate I'll arrange for him to take a bullet to the head sometime soon.

Though I shouldn't worry too much - around the Sorcerors Revenge plotline, 'Masque will be ditching Tolkeen like a live grenade. Could be kind of interesting actually, going rogue and trying to maneuver people out of the line of fire. ^_^

I wouldn't say incompetant.....if anything, Drano is just not psychologically sound enough to be an officer. But yet he is allowed to lead a small team of GB's.

Don't forget, I did just set up a hasty ambush (well Van helped out a lot too with his CoA spell) that proved quite effective.

In reply to Moloch (msg #35):

That is impossible they commit almost every aset to the attack.  That was part of the reason it was successful -- well sort of.  They did lose 53% of their troops though and that was with the Shadow Dragons.

I think I read that part of the reason Tolkeen eventually lost is because they over-advertised their victory, and half their army went home.

Drano - Incompetent because he got drunk while on the job and murdered a bartender. That spells bad officer to me. It doesn;t matter if you can organize an attack... that is like saying Charles Manson is a pretty good leader.

And that sucks for you Dyvalis - Comartin already started carrying out your psychotic orders. You can kiss your command good bye.

I will be bringing in a new officer soon - who isn't a fucking psychopath.

Not to mention a new Glitterboy pilot... or is 'I was just following orders' no longer considered an inadequate defence?

And as for how to respond to Drano's reply? I think smiling politely and backing away is in order. ^_^
