Re: Scouting Party

"Let us discuss this while moving. If this whole scouting operation gets scrapped cause we get spotted by their scouts we are fucked."

Caramon says as he spits on the ground.

"Maybe we should bring our hovercycles part way, and hide them as an escape for the three of us - so we don't have to worry about hot footing it the whole way back - or being carried by the damn borg. No offense."
The last part aimed towards Silvermasque.

Re: Scouting Party

"That was the plan for about the next ten miles. We travel from foot from there, and on foot back." Tyirrak said.

"Now, does anybody else have another field radio? I have one with my hovercycle, but I want at least one with us and one left with the hovercycles in an emergency."

"That aside, get back to your hovercycles, and meet me over there." he pointed to a ridge close by, in the direction they would be heading, "I plan on setting a pace of roughly 240 MPH... so if you dont have a Bobcat hovercycle, trade with someone who does. The other cycles cant handle that speed. We'll be trying to take it careful to avoid scouts, but we want this done quickly as well as quietly."

"So lets get moving." he turned his cycle around, ready to meet them where he had pointed to.

"And Caramon, we're definately going to need those eyes of yours to see the scouts before they see us."

"I'll be sure not to gauge them out before crunch time then." he says sarcastically - before turning to return to his hovercycle.

The oriental juicer rolls his neck slightly before turning and loping light-footedly across the irregular terrain to where Lt. Zephram is chewing out one of the other mercenaries.

"Is no offence taken." remarks 'Masque smoothly, apparently unbothered by the pace the wierd little predatory leader of their scouting party wants to set - possibly because he can match it, possibly because he's used to working in kilometers.

Re: Scouting Party

Tyirrak waited there with a map of the area open in front of him, on which he had sketched the intended route they would take. First it involved taking a sharp highspeed turn to the east, and then head along north towards the convoy, the initial turn meant to throw off any scouts that they might miss that would speculate as to the direction of the larger company.

"Caramon, you take point. Everyone else spread wide, but remain within visual contact of at least two other teammembers at all times until we arrive at this point." Tyirrak pointed to an X on the map part way across the route, indicating where they would leave their hovercycles and travel on foot.

Re: Scouting Party

Caramon replies with a nod of confirmation, and the group speeds off. It takes little time for them to reach their destination, and dismount their hovercycles.

(OOC - are you guys heading to Fort Glory (The Prison Camp) to watch them as the caravan departs? or after they have departed the first camp, and spread into formation?)

Re: Scouting Party

Tyirrak ordered radio silence unless absolutely necessary, to prevent the Coalition from accidentally picking up their frequency, encrypted or not.

So aside from the sound of the hovercycles, there was silence. Tyirrak seemed to lean forward in his seat, as if by doing so, he could go faster.

OOC: I didnt know we had time to make it to Fort Glory. If theres time to do that before the convoy sets out, then we will.

Chances are then we might even see precisely which vehicle the prisoners are being led into.

After that, we will also follow the convoy up and inspect their numbers and formation once they are underway, and then return as quickly (and stealthily) as possible and give our report.

Re: Scouting Party

Caramon makes the signal for the squad to stop. The group is currently 3 miles from the prison.

"Ican see them. They are leaving the prison camp now. Fuck?! All this for some prisoners???"

He hesitates, while focusing intensely...

"I hope you are writing this down Sgt. There are two APCs. And they are heavily guarded..."

"Up front they have 6 soldiers on hovercycles, and a heavy tank. Then one APC. Behind that is maybe... 40 skelebots, a Dog-Pack, 8 SAMAS - 2 heavy, and 6 old models. Behind them are... 4 power armours, 2 cyborgs, and 2 robot vehicles. Then the second APC, followed by 5 more robot vehicles, more bike troops, and another tank - different model. They have 4 groups splitting off - one in front, and 1 on either side... and another falling behind."

He pauses again...

"The group up front is a dog pack - and what looks like mercenaries... they have a german armour...

"On our side - a borg, and troops with horned helmets... 4 of them... and a 6th soldier... a psychic."

"The scouts on the far flank - look like 4 light SAMAS - and in the rear - another dog pack, and 4 other infantry..."

"Lastly... sir.... there are 4 sky cycles just took off from the base... heading forwards... likely terrain scouts - we have to make sure  the others are not seen!"

Caramon spits on the ground at his feet, then clears the mucas fromt the back of his nose, and spits again.

"Well - we didn't get dressed up for nuthin'"

Re: Scouting Party

"Yes." he replied, reaching for his field radio and checking the frequency

"Four Coalition Sky Cycles heading for your position Pluto. Terrain scouts - make sure the men are unseen!" he warned the unit, before putting it away. Aside from the single urgent communication, they would maintain further radio silence until they reached their own hovercycles. A full briefing via radio would then fill the lieutenants in.

"Good work." he said before turning back and bounding into the treeline with the others. He had expected to do more, but they had what they had come for. And with the skycycles en route to the unit, they couldnt afford time for any sabatoge. If those skycycles picked up more than they were supposed to, this entire thing could get canceled before it even started.

If they were spotted... it would be best if the cycles only thought them to be a much smaller force.

Re: Scouting Party

OOC - You guys appear to have 7 miles of running distance ahead of you before you get to your hovercycles, and another 10 miles after that. Fearless runs only slightly faster than a human... and will need breaks during a 7 mile run.

You guys are far away it would seem...

Re: Scouting Party

"Silvermasque... carry whichever of them cannot keep pace with me and the juicer." Tyirrak said to the russian cyborg "We may have to intercept those skycycles."

He then bolted down the path, traveling at somewhere around 95-100 mph, knowing that Silvermasque could keep up and probably pass him by with relative ease should he have to. And the juicer could hoof it as required as well. Tyirraks bladed tail snaked after him as a speed rudder, allowing sharp turns and feats of incredible balance.

Re: Scouting Party

Takamatsu was anything but slow, but it privately galled him to be left behind easily by the giant cyborg and lizard creature both.  His somewhat slower pace does, however, allow the Skycycles to pull away in the distance, where a simple look down won't give away his presence.  At his best run, he should be back at his Bobcat within seven minutes....

Re: Scouting Party

 "Khorosho."

'Masque gives a heavy, vibrating chuckle and - since no opportunity was given to actually remove his massive armour for the 'stealth' part of the operation before Tyirrak got impatient and headed out, swings his heavily armoured cyborg form around to offer transport to the slowest two members of the team.

He keeps his pace slow - matching the Lanotaur's speed and no more, steering with the inherent grace of fibre-optic nerves and gyroscopic reflexes, while his upper arms support his new 'gun crew' and his lower cradle that heavy plasma cannon he's so fond of...

Re: Scouting Party

Tyirrak eyed the juicer momentarily and then ordered a quick stop.

He removed the field radio from his back and handed it to Caramon.

"Report what you saw to the others. And then we start moving again."

After Caramons report, Tyirrak takes the radio again and speaks into it for a moment before returning it to his back.

OOC: Avery's question will occur when Caramon still has the radio, so it should be directed to him.

Sorry for the backtrack, but I thought this was the most likely way the events might occur as they already have.
