Chapter Six : Coalition Mark V APC : PE-112

The newest prisoner was a woman from The destruction of Hillcrest. Her name is Sarah. She was a field medic in Pluto Company, before being re-assigned to Hillcrest Medical.

Tecumseh and Sorkhan recognized her right away, as having served in Pluto Company themselves... and in her platoon...

Maeth had been in Fort Glory for 3 days. The Coalition doesn't keep prisoners like him alive for long. It is a wonder he is not dead yet.

Dyvalis has been here for 2 weeks. He was picked up when his transport was shot down over Coalition defense lines. He was to be part of a mission to deploy a thousand troops behind enemy lines and attack from the rear. Reinforcements would come soon. It is unknown if the mission was successful, or if reinforcements ever arrived. Dyvalis' transport was one of the first to go down, and he, the lone survivor was caught right away.

You have each been kept seperate from each other, in cells. Only brought out for interrogation or torture. Although not all of the prisoners were tortured...

Each of you are grabbed from your beds in the middle of the night - and escorted violently to a vehicle bay. There are at least 24 other prisoners in here, six are human, the rest are d-bees.

The prisoners are lined up into three rows of eight. Each of you are fixed with Heavy thick metal cuffs like these:
<img src="http://img244.imageshack.us/img244/6028/riftscoalitionthroneroomwb4.jpg"align="left">

After each is fixed with the cuffs, they are in turn forced to wear armour. All of the mages' helmets have large metal bars, protruding from the inside of the mask, forcing the mouth open, and preventing any sort of speech, or ability to contain saliva. ALL of the helmets have no visor, rendering the wearers completely blind.

In Maeth's case, and the other D-Bees with snouts, their snout is forced closed by the helmet, as though their is simply a cut hole, where the other masks are solid. They can breathe through their nose, but are unable to form words.

Finally you are each grabbed by someone and escorted into a vehicle, split up from those who were previously standing with you.

see next thread

Each of you are blind, and bound. The heavy metal cuffs were stuck to the floor after they held you down, and the cuffs became stuck, after a loud click. Each of you are either kneeling or sitting.

Maeth can feel his own drool running down around his chin.

The soldiers remain quiet - except for the growling. Either one of the other prisoners is a creature of some kind (but it should be restrained....) - or the Coalition have one of their test-animal mutations in here with the prisoners...

The deep, growl is unmistakably those of a massive bear.

The sound of the dirt road beneath the wheels of the APC changes to a smooth surface for a few seconds and then back to dirt road again. The sound of a running river was heard building, and then peaked at the smooth spot - it is now fading behind.

The sounds of heavy pounding behind the APC are surely the sound of several Robot Walkers of some type. There are hovervehicles, and perhaps a tank, or another APC in front of this vehicle.

Symeon kneels, bound as others surely are. The fate of one who merely tried to HELP.  See if I ever try and mend a downed SAMAS pilot again.  Just because I'm already wanted for aiding and mending known enemies of the CS shouldn't warrant my death if I'm captured doing likewise FOR a Coalition Soldier. He vents mentally, using his anger to keep awake... to keep him strong.

Re: Coalition Mark V APC : PE-112

After getting his entire platoon killed and then surrendering, Dyvalis knows that for his failure he deserves whatever he's got coming to him. All the same, that doesn't stop him from quietly crying behind his mask. His salty tears running into his forced-open mouth, and the snot encrusted under his nose from earlier blubbering, he desperately tries not to make a sound since learning that the soldiers just LOVE it when a mage breaks down. The pain of his swollen, bloodied left eye and his broken wrist, and plasma burn on his leg seem to take a back seat to the panic of just imagining the worse things to come in his new prison.

Ever the pessimist, he sits in hopeless silence.

Re: Coalition Mark V APC : PE-112

"It is official.. I'm bored." Maeth thinks silently to himself. There was a moment of panic in the beginning, a resurgence of a long dead emotion known as fear, but it died again and hasn’t show it's self since. He was captured, out numbered, out gunned, and quite possibly heading to his execution; Maeth believes that things can be worse, but he isn't sure how. He would have a great deal of scars to show for how gruelling the past few days were, but his regeneration left no traces behind. A small part of him wondered if there would be any trace left of him, but he shrugged off the morbid thought. "They already failed to kill me once, what should make this any different?" Maeth found the growling of the other creature somewhat amusing, whether it was a Coalition spawned test-tube baby or a random creature from a rift. Maeth would "look" at it every once in a while, simply turning his head in that direction. The drool running down his muzzle was an irritation that he has to withstand, for now.

Re: Coalition Mark V APC : PE-112

The vehicle came to an abrupt stop. It went from 40 miles per hour to zero in an instant. Not like the power of really good breaks, and not like hitting a wall, or the other APC.

This is instantly followed by vicious barking from somewhere else in this "room"...

The beast lets out more of a curious moan - like it said "Kill...?"

A commanding male human voice is heard "What happened? What is going on up there pilot?"

The noise of the vehicles outside stops. There is silence...

The front of the vehicle begins to sink slowly, a few feet already - and the back begins to lift accordingly...

Re: Coalition Mark V APC : PE-112

Maeth's only anchor is the place where his cuffs are attached to the floor. Maeth can feel his body move slightly to the side, as the APC stops and begins tilting. Maeth almost gave a laugh; this is exactly what he meant. He was immortal, time would not kill him, and it would seem neither would the CS. At least not yet...

On the plus side, the sudden motion flung the drool hanging on his chin away, and he was almost clean again. Now all that was left was to have his hands freed and be set loose on those that think to imprison one such as him. Patience, it will happen soon enough.. that or you'll be killed. Either way, this will end very soon.

Tecumseh makes no remarks to anything. He is too busy making peace with the spirits. He is expecting his sixth sense to go anytime. He has been since his capture. Morbid and dark are his thoughts as of late.

Re: Coalition Mark V APC : PE-112

A loud rumbling is heard and fealt through the floor of the APC. Followed by a crash, and a sound similar to a house collapsing.

The rumble is getting closer, the vibrations getting stronger.

One soldier is heard "The other APC is gone sir! It was swallowed into the ground!"

Another is heard "We are next - brace for impact!"

30 seconds of this rumbling is heard getting louder, the vibrations growing stronger - until the feeling of gravity is gone for a moment as the vehicle freefalls for more than ten feet - crashing into another level below the surface.

Some of the prisoners call for help - although the drop was not likely enough to cause much in the way of injury. Some of the soldiers can be heard falling, and equipment rolling around on the ground.

"Get yer asses up you maggots! This was planned for - assume positions!"

Re: Coalition Mark V APC : PE-112

The voice of the commanding officer brought new hope to Maeth's ears, atleast it would have been hope had the wolfen known despair. No, it was simply the anticipation of what was to come. Soon he would be free, either from his chains or from his physical body, in either case, he will not be trapped here for long. He could feel his black heart pumping his blood in surging waves through his veins, the anticipation of being free, of killing something, was rising within him.

Reflexively Symeon turns his head to left and right, staining against the mask that binds his vision... wishing he were able to at least understand what had happened, and what it might portent for him. Obviously an assault on the caravan has begun.  Is it a rescue mission, or... He shivers, realizing that despite it all~ their are worse fates to be had than a prisoner of the CS.

Re: Coalition Mark V APC : PE-112

The APC drops a second time. Another scare, but the APC stops again after a short drop.

The ground gives way again - and it drops even further, and then stops.

There is no way to avoid being tossed around - being cuffede to the floor is a blessing for those who are...

Maeth is struck. A body - still with life lands on Maeth's back.

Zor simply sat there in silence unable to do nothing as he is magnetically locked to the deck of the vehicle he was in Probably an APC, and if another vehicle ahead of them was being attacked then someone was attempting a rescue.

The sodliers inside can be heard scrambling around the vehicle. The growls of whatever mutant beast the Coalition has brought with them can be heard as if it were screaming beside your ears.

"Bring it here!"

"Private bring up that gun - set it down next to Peters"

"Sir, the other APC is losing their battle... I can see.... several men outside - they have lost one I believe.... our boys inside are nearly finished... should we execute ours?"

"Negative Sergeant. We planned for this - I want to see those Tolkeen fuck-wits TRY to get in here. I'll be damned if some magicians and aliens will undermine me."

 - Explosions and shooting can still be heard from the other vehicle... and the quiet rumblings of a battle 100 feet above...

Upon hearing the conversation of his captors Zor realizes he has to warn those tying to rescue him. Unable to move his hands or legs he uses his head, encased in the metal helmet and taps it against another prisoners back.

The other prisoner squirms slightly... but does not react in any other way to Zor's idea...

The sounds of combat are louder coming from outside. The battle must be happening outside the other APC...

The helmet was an indignity. A very unpleasant indignity. They were right to fear him should he be able to speak, for now he was horribly angered.

The helmet muffled the sounds around Karnon, yet his canine hearing could decipher that there was a commotion occurring. A unplanned commotion.

God's. He wished he could bite through the blasted metal shaft forced down his throat like some sort of obscene phallus. And then... then he'd show these ignorant humans what the insides of hell looked like.
