The convoy seemed to be taking its time reaching their destination, and there was work to be done... Clearing his throat he tunes in to the Company Radio frequency, "Photios Dimitrios Erasmus, First Platoon; requesting permission and location to set up the second half of a Circle of Travel linked to Tolkeen."

Well, it sounded official enough... he was after all a specialist in creation and High level magic, he hadn't spent a whole lot of time among the Battle Magic. Nor had he gone through any sort of boot-camp before getting signed on as a Mercenary.

Jelme calls out to the few mercenaries near by - since they are the only ones he has command over.

"Oksana and Maeth - you are with me and Tecumseh - we are going to pay a visit to each farm and try to get them to leave and come inside the town - or at least get a tally on the number of civilians in each one - and any possible defenses we can supply. Farmers are a stubborn bunch - so don't expect much co-operation."

   Oksana teleports into conversational range with Jelme half-way through his sentence.  She appears a few inches above the ground and lets herself fall onto the ground, landing on her feet.  Her wings are still spread wide and she listens to Jelme's instruction closely.
   "I am ready when you are."
   Oksana looks over at Maeth as he walks up.  She gives him a friendly nod before turning back to Jelme.

Maeth walks over to meet the Cyber Knights and Oksana. He meets Oksanas nod with a forced smile. It seems the Wolfen has trouble expressing any emotion thus far.

"Lead the way Cyber Knight"

Tecumseh appears puzzled as to whether Maeth was deliberately using their title as names or he simply did not know them. He decides to put it to the test to get it out of the way now - if the wolfen had a problem with Cyber Knights.

"My name is Tecumseh, and this is Jelme. Jelme? shall we start with the North West farm?"

   "I can take all of us there, if you like.  Save some walking."

OOC - her teleportation-passenger limit is 1,000 lbs.

Erasmus hops up onto a nearby roof and surveils the area, noticing the Redeemer Church and nodding in satisfaction before heading back down and making his way down the streets to the Church. Heading inside he removes his helmet and greets the locals, explaining his position and asking to see the building.

Once he's able to head down into the basement, he'll find a safe secluded corner, one there would be access to once the place has been filled with the towns residents. Once he has a workspace cleared he'll summon up some wood, laying out the planks and building a small floorspace. Once complete he'll set about crafting a circle of travel upon the floor, an hour later when finished he'll turn the flooring to Ironwood and head back out to meet up with First Platoon.

"Very well Oksana - take us out."

Jelme stands ready.

   Oksana nods to Jelme and looks over in the direction of the farm.  She spots the quaint homestead in the distance, including a clearing in front of the building.  She motions for her companions to stand a little closer together andf she extends her metal wings around them in a loose embrace.  A moment later, after a sudden but brief wave of nausea, everyone notices that there surroundings have changed.  They are now standing on a patch of grass, twenty or so feet from the front door of the farm house.

   "That was painless, wasn't it?  So, Jelme, do we just knock on their door?"

The farmers all choose to remain in their homes and take their chances if an invasion starts. There are a total of 43 people in all the farms combined.

"Apparantly third platoon needs help constructing trenches. Osema? get your clan together and come with me to assist. O'hare and Oksana I want you to meet Corporal Fanel in the parking structure and assist his efforts. Jelme, Tecumseh and Maeth I want you to report to Sergeant Jegathees in fourth platoon and assist with patrol duties. Attila - you're with me."

   While making their rounds of the farms, Oksana was fair and courteous to each of them.  When given the opportunity to speak, she was respectful and accepting of their choices.  She had left her home out of an instinct for survival.  She had given up all that was familiar to her.  In a way, she missed those days in the Chi-Town burbs and she could understand the farmers' reluctance.  She did try her best to be convincing however, as she knew they were risking their lives by staying in their homes.

   Oksana looks over to Calliandra and extends her wings as if she is about to take off.  Oksana attempts to convey to the power armour pilot that she is ready to leave right away.  If Calliandra agrees, Oksana will crouch and then launch herself into the air with a powerful jump and flap of her wings.  The action sounds like drawing a hundred swords from their scabbards at once, but her speed quickly takes her out of earshot.  She will fly without words, unless Calliandra offers them, until they reach the shop where the technowizard has stationed himself.  Landing in the street softly, Oksana turns to Calliandra and mentions.  :"You know, I'm not much of a mechanic.  I hope they don't want me to fix anything."

   And with that, she walks inside with Calliandra.

"We will get right on that Sgt. Jack-Sack as soon as we are done hunting. Actually you know what I will send Reginald and bitchass Klowkuh over to dig your stupid fucking holes. Gendun and I will be in the woods north of here scouting and hunting."


Osema calls back on his radio from his spot on the road outside of town where he and his pack were loitering.

"Yes sir!" Calliandra's enthusiastic voice comes from the SAMAS' external speakers, then the suit seems to give an incongruous wince and continues, in a much quieter voice this time now that the speakers' volume has been turned down "Sorry about that."

At Oksana's invitation, the SAMAS' armored head nods and the external jets swivel as Callie leaps into the air, following Oksana to the parking garage.  The young girl knows full well where to go, but is afraid that she'll lose herself in the sensation of flying and leave her companion behind without a visual reminder not to do so.  "So do you ever get over how cool it is to actually be flying?" she asks as they land at the garage.

Reginald nods, and smiles, "What a beautiful day..."Reggie then leads Klowkuh off just as Osema directed.

   "Actually, not until more recently.  My mutation developed when I was livin' outside Chi-Town.  Let's jus' say that if you're jus' an elf livin' there, it can be dangerous enough.  Add in a mutation like this and you're dogmeat.  Plus my abilities first came on in plain sight of a CS patrol... Anyway, the point is, I was more concerned with hiding my gifts in the beginning, and eventually, when I accepted it, I was trying to leave the city and survival sorta became a priority.  I got to Tolkeen a week ago or so.  The first time I flew for the fun of it was jus' a few days 'fore I signed up for merc-duty.  I guess times have been tough."

   "Say, you're enlisted aren't you?  How can I sign up to be a soldier rather than just a merc.  I want to do my part for my new home.  The Coalition deserve all the enemies they can get."

Jack is soon nowhere to be found in the town...

The brodkil pack return a few hours later carrying only one dead deer. They are all sporting huge grins however... so perhaps they have already eaten their share of the hunt...

There had been little going on, the officers in a meeting while a few of the platoon were given tasks. Noticing nothing that needed direct interference on his part, he would chime in on the Radio, "Mercenary Erasmus reporting in, did you have any specific duties lined up for me... or shall I write some scrolls?"

It was at times like this of near inactivity he wanted a rank among the troops in order to break the lethargy that would invariably set in whilst waiting for a siege that was not imminently apparent.

"Go ahead and begin writing your scrolls Photios."

Sorkhan rides in atop a fresh-from-the-wild silonar. It growls and snaps at him as he dismounts. But he pays it no attention and walks up to Major Karno to present his briefing of the skirmish his patrols encountered earlier.

   Oksana looks at Calliandra after Lieutenant Drake tells them to return to their platoon.  "So they want us to go back and meet our platoon?  Does that mean we go find Tyirrak or Jack? Or everyone else?  Do you want to radio one of them to ask?"

"Hang on a sec," Callie says, in the middle of suiting back up in her Wild Weasel SAMAS, "Once this thing's booted up I should be able to see where everyone is and we'll just head towards our platoon's location."  The young woman rubs at a swath of grease on her cheek as she shoves one arm into the suit and uses that grip to climb the rest of the way in.

"Well, I guess that answers that." Callie answers brightly in response to the radio broadcast.  "See ya there."

With that the young psi-tech leaps into the air and directs her SAMAS suit towards the church, trying not to worry too much at the order's tone.  The CS couldn't be attacking already, right?
