"That there is several hundred missiles all headed for us..."

Obidiah Womble from 1st Platoon and Calliandra from HQ Platoon can be seen in the air above Madtown. Obidiah appears responsible for the summoned storm as he continues to manipulate the elements, while Calliandra flies towards the incoming missiles.

The streets of Madtown are soaked in a matter of seconds, and the winds pick up howling between buildings.

"Oh hell corporal. That's not funny... this is going to get hair raze fast." - gulp

Amy moves over to see how Kamada is doing after that rather abrupt drop.  "Are you alright?  I'm sorry I should have waited to see if anyone else needed help down.  Will you be alright now?"  Her voice shows her nerves, as does her rather rambling way of speaking, as the tension in the bunker begins to build with the reports of the missle fire.

Kamada lands with a surprised look on her face, and checks her surroundings quickly before looking for Burd and prepares to pick a fight... but thinks better of it...

Distracted by Amy, while thinking of ways to kill Burd without anyone noticing she turns, starteld to Yutani. "What? yeah I'm fine."

Over near the southeast part of town about a half mile away from the approaching wall of darkness the swirling winds of the raging storm begin to coalesce into one large super cell that quickly drops four tornadoes. Spaced out about 150ft apart the four deadly funnels travel in a straight line directly into the black wall. A minute after that the weather that seemed to be getting bad begins to increase exponentially. Thankfully for the defenders of Madtown the 100 degree drop in temperature, 100 MPH increase in winds and 120% increase in precipitation are all occuring outside of the perimeter defenses, including most of the lake, in huge 3000ft spheres. These speheres, slightly overlapping one another, begin popping up one after another until the entirety of Madtown is encircled. Directly above Madtown the sky that was already darkening becomes an almost impenetrable curtain of pitch black and the winds swirl around at hurricane velocity. For a few moments Madtown itself no doubt suffers from this wildly unnatural weather phenomenon but then just like in the eye of a hurricane the wind all across the town lessens until it is completely still. The precipition wanes until it is non-existant and the temperature rises up to a comfortable 70 degrees Faherenheit. It is still dark and no doubt noisy inside the peaceful bubble while outside a storm of biblical proportions rages against the oncoming Coalition war machine.

Amy hardly hear's Kamada's response as she looks up and out the portal eyes wide at the incredible sight of natures furry with the certain knowledge that it is at the command of man, or at sentient command at least.  She watches in awe and silence trying to repress the shiver that causes her fur to stand on end and the instinct to run and find an even more secure place to hide.

"Oh by the gods of old earth." McCloud look both shock and mesmerise at the tornados as thay move in to place.
After a few moments he check his postion and his boom gun ammo to make sure he has all he need for the battle.He then sit waiting for the on comeing onslaught.

Portia looks up at the darkening sky and floats up to watch the crazy weather as it begins to enclose the town. She tries to estimate how far up the area of darkness is but gives up as the torrential rain soaks her. She flies back down preparing to close the portal so the room does not become flooded when the winds and precipitation abate altogether. Stepping lightly back onto the floor of the bunker she smiles a wicked smile and the portal closes plunging the room in darkness.

A Globe of Daylight flares to life and rises to the top of the 30ft ceiling making the room almost too bright. "That is some serious fucking weather out there. It may not stop larger missiles but I would imagine mini-missiles would be blown all around and if whoever is doing it can keep it up then those CS boys will basically be shooting their load in blind. That can only help us. Not to mention flying a SAM through that shit would not be advisable and marching or driving through the muck that all that rain is gonna make should hinder them as well. There are some lanterns over there with the camping gear go ahead and break them out this spell only lasts ten minutes or so. Everyone find you a spot and get all your crap setup to fight. Like I said we are mostly going to be playing the shoot the fish in the barrel game but we may need to pop out and fight hand to hand or evacuate quickly so be prepared for anything. Severin go ahead and finish assembling those I-E-D's weld the fusion blocks as flush with the sides of the barrel as you can I would like for them to be able to roll if possible. Burd unpack the guns and extra ammo we bought and set them up over near the center wall there.”

Portia plops down on a big suede couch near the clear spot in the center of the room and notes that it got wet during the downpour having been underneath the portal. With a couple quick spells both the couch as well as all her clothing is clean and dry. She holds out her arm and a black asp slithers out from under a pillow on the couch and up into the sleeve of her robe. She uncaps the scroll cases she pulled out earlier when she handed some over to the above ground defenders and begins pulling out numerous scrolls sorting them on the table. "Alright step up and get some of these people. Karnon made them so he can explain all the details of each including the range, duration, area that will be affected and answer any other questions you might have. Other than some extras Karnon may be holding this is all we have so utilize them efficiently. The scrolls are all labeled. The copper rings are Talismans of the Invincible Armor spell each is good for three uses. Do not activate it while we are down in this hole or I will beat your ass for stupidity.” The Lieutenant hands everyone except Karnon one of the copper rings, she gives Burd two however. Then she hands out 21 scrolls each to Amy, Oksana and Severin.

Rising up from the couch Portia unrolls one of the scrolls and reads it aloud the words disappear from the page as she reads and a magic force emanates from the page with a strange warping effect and extends to the walls of the bunker flashing for an instant across all four as well as the floor and ceiling. "The Sanctum spell is in place now so the likelihood of being detected way down here is greatly diminished. Oksana and I will now port over to Yutani’s plane and then to the last bunker near the lake and give them the same treatment. We will be back shortly. Make yourselves comfortable and be ready.”

OOC: The scrolls for the bunker crew are as follows; 6x Annihilate, 10x Meteor, 4x Ballistic Fire, 1x Beat Insurmountable Odds. Also 1x Talisman Invincible Armor good for 3 uses.  Moloch she gave the mages protecting the GB's 1 Invincible Armor Talisman each. 2x Meteor, 2x Ballistic Fire, 1x Annihilate & 1x Beat Insurmountable Odds scrolls each. She gave Jake Gittes 8x Impenetrable Wall of Force scrolls to be distributed to the perimeter defenders for use against missile attack.

Severin nods and happily goes about his work welding the IED's together. "Do hurry back, I would hate for you to miss the excitement Portia." The Tauton adds as the LT ports out to Yutani's plane

Amy stood beneath the brief downpour until Portia closed it up tight snapping back to activity.  Once the light has returned she takes a pillow from one of the couches and uses it to quickly wipe her armor dry for lack of a towel or mystic powers.  At Portia's dirrection she finds the lanterns and carefully lights them setting them around the room for when the spell fails.

Stepping up she regards the scrolls and ring with a bit of nervous awe and respect cradleing them gently in her hands turning to Karnon.  Clearly she is ready almost eager to learn how to use these shiny new toys her orgin from a magic free world almost painfully obvious.

The missiles break through the massive, black thunderstorms surrounding the town. Several of them are knocked off course and crash into others, but the majority (80%) continue towards the town.

Private Calliandra O'Hare from HQ Platoon meets them at the edge of the calm and activates her scrambling pack.

Hundreds of missiles are out of her range, however she manages to scramble and redirect many more of the missiles into each other, or to fall short of their targets and land just outside of town. Calliandra also has activated an uplink ability. If you have can accept it, you receive 'data' from her observation point. (+1 to initiative and dodge)

Calliandra herself is forced to dodge incoming missiles as she has placed herself directly in the way of a cloud of them.


The missiles (75%) that make it through blanket the town in fire...

"Shit!" Portia exclaims hearing that 75% of the missiles will be making it through. At that rate she doesn't know how much of the town will be left to defend if the CS bombardment is sustained. Calling out on the radio over 2nd platoons frequency she yells. "Second platoon defenders take cover underground unless you have been tasked with casting mystic walls. Do not erect the walls unless a direct hit in our area seems imminent. " She glances over at Karnon. "If your elementals do not understand their role in this regard please make sure they do. A blown up wall of clay is far more acceptable than one of the mounds and or our perimeter defenders." She locks forearms with Oksana and offers the people in the bunker a smile. "Comparitively speaking we have it easy. There is some wine, cheese and bread among the rations help yourselves. This is the part where we wait. For everyones sake above us I hope it does not last too long. I will be back in a few minutes. With a nod to Oksana the two women dissapear.

Drano waited within the tunnel system, backed away from a firing port as far as he can so that any a direct or near direct missile hits outside the firing port will result in little or no damage to his Chromium Guardsman.

Using his thermal sights to see through the wind and rain outside in the hopes of acquiring targets, specifically Coalition Tanks, APC, and Robots, instructing his squad to do the same from their positions.

“Chromium Guardsman, switch to thermals, search for targets.”

Eljin is hidden away as best he can be with his Mage and Scrapper accomplices, he searches for targets but dosn't really expect to find any before the bombardment is over, then again with the range on a BoomGun he may well be able to reach out and touch the advance portion of the Coalition before they even realize they are indanger, tho doing so would alert them to the threat before the firepower could be optimally used so even if he finds a target he wouldn't open fire until they have been drawn deeper into the killzone.

McCloud move to thermals vision "getting targets Sir orders!"

McCloud Line up the Boom gun at the first thing on his vision likely a missile.

The Glitter Boys and the Salvation Army open fire as the misiles come down. They probably destroy missiles in the air than any other platoon... but not enough to shield them from the rain of fire.

The Arena is hit maybe five times, collapsing more of the roof on the juggernauts inside. The Zip Shop is hitonce but still stands, as does Big Sam's Salvage. Mad Zacks is not as lucky and it is almost completely disintigrated... fortunately it was abandoned.

The civilian homes to the south and the parking lot are hit savagely by the downpour. Homes are blown to shreds and civilians are sent scattering for cover amid the flames and chaos.

Several other missiles land among The Salvation Army. Several are killed including Jake Gittes who was blown in half and had long enough to gurgle once before slipping away.

The rest of the town is hit just as bad... and this is just the beginning.

Amy listens to the rolling thunder transmitted through the ground and watches a light coating of dust stir along the floor and walls as the chamber trembles as the waves of concussion eventually reach the secure bunker.  For a moment her fear peaks as images of the ceiling collapsing fill her head.  Trying to get a hold of herself she leans back acting overly calm limbs moving slowly overly careful as she silently prays to god for protection and safety.

McCloud rours more to him self than any one on coms "Bastards!!!" He start shooting at any of the remaining missiles and try to cover as many of the solders with his boom gun as poasble. Laying down covering fire for the softer troopers and takeing revenge for Jake on any thing that look like a CSA troopers/Tank.

"McCloud! Calm yourself boyo!"

Karnon sat still in the corner, ignoring the foodstuffs as his magics had rendered them not necessary for the remainder of his spell... which would last for several days at least. He also did not cut down on the air available. He had offered Sustaining spells for those who had asked, and those who had similarly did not require food, water or air.

It was not yet time. His elementals lurked under the crust and bedrock, well beneath the reach of the missiles, biding their time as well. Should there be more missiles coming, they would throw up clay walls in areas that the other platoons occupied, for they were not as well-entrenched as 2nd platoon. And the more that survived, the more of a resistance they would all put up.

He figured he would survive this siege. He was not going to throw his life away. The only lives he would throw away were his enemies.

Listening in on the Pluto radio frequency Amy turns to watch Portia curiously wondering what is so special about the 'scroll' they are talking about.  "Ah, Ma'am, maybe you shouldn't let him talk about things like that on a frequency the Coalition can intercept.."

"I cannot control what that little faggot says over the radio. He is a Lieutenant as well and has a daddy far up the food chain. He did actually take what I said into consideration though so I give him credit for that. The scroll he is speaking of is the Metropolis scroll which I am assuming the Coaltion at least has an idea about at this point.  Considering some private residences no doubt survived direct missile hits and other larger buildings that should be completely immolated are barely smoldering. Those mounds we created can take about three times as much damage as a Coaltion tank each and are designed to deflect many shots. Energy weapons are basically useless against them as well. Personally I cannot wait to watch the CS troopers as they hit the Sphinx's ward field. That is an alien magic that is very powerful from what I hear.

Portia settles down into the plush cushions of one of the couches surrounding the area of floor that is to be the main scrying area. Despite having taken advantage of the Sustain spell offered by Karnon she does pour herself a glass of dark red wine. She turns her nose up at the smell being created by Severin as he laser welds the barrels constructing the explosive devices.

"If you have not taken Karnon up on his Sustain spell then firstly you are a dumbshit but besides that you should probably don an air filtration device. When I open the scrying portal it will vent the room and let some air in. All of the other portals will be of the one way telporting variety only. I will not be opening one until it is time to start the killing. Speaking of killing,  Kamada and Yutani if you have finsished prepping all your gear I want you to assemble some more quick and dirty IED's. Take that reinforced duct tape and lash together two plasma missiles and one high explosive missile each to one of the twenty medium fusion blocks. That should put them between twenty and twenty-five pounds each. Those big bastards Severin is cooking up are far to heavy to teleport but we can still hurl them through a portal easy enough. The smaller ones however that you guys are going to make we can double up and touch someone over thirty miles away with a basic teleport spell. We will only really be limited by sight unless someone has some good long range vision oriented spells or abilities."


Portia looks over at Burd who is staring into a lantern and drooling and shakes her head slightly annoyed. "Burd! Unpack the missiles and explosives for the ladies you sack of shit."

"Right away, did you want anything fancy for the detonation sequence or leave it t0 nature.  If the equipment is availible I could easilly run the wiring, even install timed detonation delay's if they would be useful."  As the offer is made she begins collecting the various supplies needed taking advantage of the strength granted her armor and quite pleased to find that Karnon's spell is still sustaining her without a hint of exhaustion or hunger.  Taking care she begins to assemble the basic packages, but in such a way that when Portia makes her decision it will be easy enough to run wiring for the ones she finishes.
