Oksana's heart sinks as she tries to decide on what words to use to describe what she sees.  She activates her radio and starts speaking in elven.
   "One massive airship in the distance, still closing... Five, ten,  twenty missiles launched and incoming.  Twenty missiles are in-bound to Madtown.  We are still en route to engage."
   The sights of what she is about to face are enough to penetrate even the psionic shield against fear she has raised.  She still delivers her message calmly and in as much detail as she can from this range.

As Oksana's report came in over the radio, Karnon put one hand into his scroll-case, pulling free the appropriate one as labeled by the rips in its side that Karnon had made.

Should the missiles strike their section, at least they would go relatively unharmed.

As the people are bolting now Eljin turns his GlitterBoy suit and starts stomping back to the Seconds location to back his team up.

GM EDIT : The civilians are NOT bolting at all. They are staying in their homes watching Eljin from their windows.

Drano hears the radio calls regarding incoming missiles, and begins to prep the shoulder mounted missile launcher to shoot down any missiles striking near him.

20:25, Today: Drano Pierce rolled 45 using 1d100. RSI (60%+5%) track missiles.

He manages to track the incoming missiles on his radar on the first try.....once they are within range of his missile Drano would be ready to attempt to shoot them down.

Lt. Lynn is planning

Lt. Pierce and the GB squad are finding cover and preparing missile defense.

Having finished up her conversation with Karnon and entered her room Portia only spent about ten minutes there before the radio chatter convinced her that being on the field with her troops is of more pressing importance than what she had planned. Hopping on her hovercycle she zips up into the air over the rooftops. The hotel is only a couple blocks away from the frontline area 2nd Platoon has been assigned so she comes back down amidst her troops. She dismounts taking notice of the four "glitterboys" as they scatter to find firing positions.


The fiery young lieutenant throws back her hood and looks around at those assembled. Then she starts barking out orders in a loud and commanding voice that brooks no discussion likely even if it were not enhanced magically. She starts on the radio however so the effect there is lost a bit.


"Private Oksana DO NOT engage! I want you to get a good look at the incoming craft. Estimate an ETA for me and then get you shiny silver ass back here immediately! Ra, Sekhmet, Thoth, Make every effort to disable the incoming missiles and then rendezvous with that hybrid SAMAS suit that is en-route. The pilot is one Private O'Hare. Apparently she is taking on missile barrages solo these days. You are to follow her orders until I tell you otherwise."


Portia clips her radio back to the utility belt inside her robe and turns her attention to the troops around her.


"Okay people we have not had time to prepare sensible cover yet so prepare to utilize mystic armor and take cover that Severin will be providing on an as needed basis. Corporal Kamada I want a case of plasma grenades and two heavy fusion blocks and I want them yesterday! Karnon I need an Invincible Armor Talisman or I need you close by to cast the spell. Burd there are two chop-shops within a block of here." She indicates which way by pointing in opposite directions. "I want you to go there and collect all the military grade scrap metal that they have, arms, legs, anything and I want it piled right over there near "Big Sams" salvage shop. do it now and work efficiently. Do not allow anyone to resist your efforts. Severin reinforce the outside of these larger buildings, The Zip Shop and Operator Shack, on three sides using triple layered walls. Sandwich one clay in between two stone for each side. Before you start though call up one of those little Mud Essences we discussed and have it create multiple mounds of triple the normal size all over this area interspersed between the shops and homes as best it can. Neither of you need worry about collateral damage however. When it has depleted its mystic stores have it help Burd collect the high density scrap.  Once you are finished attempt a greater summoning and report back to me."

Stopping only for a second to catch her breath she turns back to Magnet-Man. "Sergeant are the Glitterboys part of 2nd or are they just popping a squat. Bring me up to speed, tell me what I am forgetting, tell me something."

Corporal Kamada wastes no time and heads off to the nearest weapon store on her hovercycle.

"Yes Master"

Burd stomps off in the direction of the nearest cybernetic chop shop.

"Yes Lieutenant. They have been assigned to us. Lieutenant Pierce is in charge of their 4-man squad. I am going to join them, I will be able to protect them from return fire."

Magnet Man hops on his hovercycle and blasts off to catch up with the Glitter Boys.

   "10-4" Oksana responds over the radio, again in elven.

   Then, following her orders, she vanishes from the view of the Iron Juggernauts and leaves them far behind her.  Effectively reaching a speed of about 9,000 miles per hour (15,000 kmph), Oksana begins a series of long-range teleports that will put her a few hundred feet behind the incoming aircraft in about twenty seconds.  The first thing she sees has her vanishing from view once more and reappearing a few hundred feet directly above the massive vehicle.


   Oksana forms her wings around herself into a coccoon and she continues to rocket through the air like a bullet.  But she is now mostly protected from the wind and is able to make a more detailed report of what she can see without being drowned out by the buffetting air rushing past.  She does keep a small space open between her wings so she can keep an eye on the aircraft below.  "Inbound aircraft is about two hundred feet long, a little wider, and probably three stories tall.  It is armed with numerous weapon turrets.  Bombay doors are open, and rear hatch is open.  Half-dozen power armours inside look ready to launch.  I'm returning to Madtown."  Oksana's words are clear and calm.  There is a slight echoe in her voice as she speaks from inside the metal enclosure of her own wings.

   She will arrive back in Madtown, standing in front of Portia a total of about fifty seconds after the lieutenant ordered her to scout ahead.  She would definitely beat the missiles back to Madtown, but they can't be far behind her.  Oksana appears in front of Portia in a flash of light and tries to glimpse the incoming missiles in the sky.  "What next ma'am?"  Oksana's voice is still calm and her silver body and wings appear relaxed.

Severin nods, and nearly instantly the little mud mound is with him, Severin mutters some odd sounding gibberish (speaking elemental) and the mound goes to work, creating mud mounds all over the area, some buildings wind up with mud piled up the sides, no doubt shattering windows and dumping quite a bit inside. Severin goes about casting the wall spells as instructed, trusting Portia's knowledge of the enemy. Once his walls are completed and the mounds created by the little mud mound are everywhere he again mumbles to the elemental and it goes off to help Burd carry supplies. Severin then quickly tries to summon up a lesser earth elemental...

"Holy Shit..." Portia mumbles to herself and she chews her bottom lip. An old habit from days long since past. When Oksana "pops" back into the area the Lieutenant is roused from her contemplative state. "Private your teleportation abilities are remarkable. I am not quite sure what you described but it sounds very bad. I have heard intelligence reports about a massive long range Coalition bomber. That may be what we are dealing with. Regardless, if it gets here we will all likely be killed or in any case unable to put up much of a fight when the ground troops arrive.

Portia looks around a second before removing her radio from her waistband. "Corporal Kamada move your ass!" Spotting the wolfen working his magic she adds. "Karnon I am going to need that Invincible Armor spell very shortly."

Turning back to Oksana she gives her a rare smile. "Private do you think that you are good enough to teleport directly into the cockpit of that airplane? If so I have a little care package I would like you to deliver. The success or failure of this upcoming battle may rest upon your shoulders."

   "Inside the cockpit?  Ummm, if there's room, yeah sure.  No problem.  What do you want me to deliver?" Oksana's question sounds sincere, even though she already suspects a massive quantity of explosives will comprise the bulk of this 'care package'.

"what the hell is the matter with you people you have got to go or you will all die!"

*over the radio*

"Eljin to Second, the people are not following the orders to evac. Requesting permission to return to Second's location where I can do some good."

Karnon has his scroll open and his eyes on the skies, watching for those missiles, but he registered the Lt.'s order, "Understood lieutenant. If missiles rain down on us, I'm putting up a forcewall to protect our immediate vicinity from the first volley."

Drano, his Chromium Guardsman camped out under the second story balcony of a building listens to the radio while waiting for the incoming missile to come into range. He’d become coldened and hardened since this war had begun, hence the cold hard reply to Eljin, trying to do the right thing.

“Eljin, evacuating those people now means they would be in the open when the missiles hit.”

“The best way to protect those people now is to survive the incoming missiles and then kill any troops that airship drops off.”

Portia nods to Karnon. "Excellent idea. Go ahead and cast the armor spell upon Private Oksana here so you will not be hindered when the time comes." The lieutenant casts an eye to the sky expecting to see missiles raining down any instant. Logically she knows that it is a big town and the chances of suffering a direct hit is not all that great but that does little to make her feel better about the situation. Turning her attention back to Oksana she says, "Yes of course private. Kamada will be here any second to provide us with the explosives. I am no expert in demolitions but if we rig two cases of plasma grenades and two heavy fusion blocks together and detonate that in the cockpit it should do the trick I would think. The mystic armor Karnon is casting on you should help if they have time to attack you before, during or after. I am going to enchance you further with an Invulnerability spell so you will be resistant to magic and psionic attacks as well as an Invisibility Superior so they should not even know you are anywhere near until you are inside with them."

Portia hears Elgin call out to 2nd platoon over the radio and she gives a quick reply. "Eljin if you are part of second platoon then please do get back here and take cover. If you have any means of knocking missiles out of the sky by all means employ them. The people are no longer our concern. They were given an opportunity to leave." She takes a moment to move her hovercycle over to one of the large mounds of dirt that Severin's elemental created. She chooses one that butts up next to the triple layered walls for maximum preotection. Seeing Kamada roaring in on her hovercycle she motions her over and helps unload the two metal cases making sure to pop one open and check the grenades within. "Good job Corporal." Portia says as she magnetically seals the fusion blocks to either side of the cases effectively lashing them together. Then punches in some numbers on the keypads. "Im setting one for six seconds and the other for five so you better be fast. If you could turn the keys prior to porting in that would be ideal. It is all up to you now Private. Such a brave girl." Portia says reaching over to touch Oksanas metal cheek for a second in an affectionate manner that is simulataneously creepy and sexy. Once the winged elf picks up the I.E.D. Portia will cast the two spells she mentioned previously upon her.

Karnon had his eyes on the sky and his hand on his scroll while he muttered the words to the Invincible Armor spell distractedly, ready to drop it at any second and throw up the forcefield. If time was sufficient he tagged Oksana with one claw-tipped hand, bestowing her with more protection than a pair of coalition dead boy suits worn over each other.

A massive missile is headed directly for the area First Platoon is spread out in. It is only a matter of seconds. A second volley of medium missiles and a second long range missiles are on their way as well, with Calliandra and second platoons' Iron Juggernauts between the town and the missiles.

   For the first time in front of any of her comrades, Oksana's left hand and forearm seems to liquify and morph.  It ripples and stretches and the the division between each finger splits all the way up to her elbow, giving her arm an alien spider leg appearance.  The five-foot long fingers open and then grasp the explosives that Portia hands her.  Oksana hefts the entire device in one arm easily and it is obvious that she could probably carry much more.  Oksana's free arm and hand becomes shorter and more bulky.  The slender elven fingers transform into something more like the heavy clawed hand of a gargoyle, although the glistening chrome skin remains.

   With the care package secured, and Portia's and Karnon's mystic enchantments in place, Oksana has already vanished from view before she even left.  She feels strange being invisible and wishes for a moment that she could enjoy the sensation for a time.  But she knows there is a job to be done and she quickly vanishes, for real this time.  She reappears five miles away and then vanishes again, and again, and again...

   Ultimately, Oksana will appear in physical contact with the aircraft, directly in front of the cockpit windows.  She is upside-down with her metamorphed arm and hand still gripping the explosive device. Oksana's free hand is slammed down against the skin of the ship, embedding her claws into the plating in order to hold on.  Her wings are retracted and folded back to help avoid being blown away and to ensure she can fit inside the aircraft.  She peeks into the cockpit through the windshield from above and the pilots would see the silver strands of her long hair being blown all around her metallic face.  Oksana remains emotionless but determined as she focuses on getting the job done, thanks to her ability to psychically rid herself of fear and trepidation.

   When looking inside the cockpit window, Oksana is attempting to spot an amount of space inside the aircraft into which she can teleport.  If there is enough room, she will do so without a second thought - regardless of how many people are around.  Once inside, Oksana will ignore the people around her as she sets down the explosive and turns the keys on both fusion blocks.  From theperspective of anyone inside the cockpit, the explosives would seem to suddenly appear from nowhere and then each activation key is turned by itself.  Then she'll simply teleport about three miles in front of the aircraft and turn back to watch for it to explode.
   If there is not enough room, she may have to find a less-safe method of entry.

Several stray missiles from the first wave have lost their targets but may still hit somewhere in the town.

Eljin taps up the Flight button and flys back to the Seconds possition.

Drano attempts to lock onto the two nearest incoming missiles and upon doing so on nhis first try launches two of his own missiles to shoot the incoming missiles down.

OOC: Not sure what kind of bonuses the GM will hook me up with in regards to the passed Weapon Systems roll, lets hop I get to use the GB's strike bonuses and +2 from weapon systems (a +14 bonues) instead of the RPG books +3 to all missiles....

One missile lands in a building in first platoons sector, and the other lands in the river next to The Marina and Renford's Manor. Whatever building the first one hit can be heard collapsing in the distance after the sounds of the explosion fade out. Black smoke raises into the sky above the buiding.

Severin returns to Portia's side, "I was successful in the summoning Lt. Lynn. What would you ask of my elemental brother?"
