McCloud notices the long pauses in transmission and figures out that he's managed to knock his radio off of the group channel.  "Oh well hell..." he mutters, flipping the setting back just in time to catch word about the incoming Devastator.

He rushes back to his abandoned foxhole beside Pierce and radios, "You couldn't just tell me there was a big-ass robot headed our way?" he admonishes his CO, totally ignoring his own flagrant failure to properly monitor all radio frequencies.

The giant robot lands on its feet just about a half-kilometer away and begins walking towards the facility entrance. It stands 70 feet tall with the massive energy weapon on its back, and seven smaller Coalition skull-faced power armours hop off of the Devastators legs and move along with the behemoth as support.

The Devastator immediately launches four medium ranged missiles at the Leopard APC, and continues walking.

As soon as the Devastator landed, Magnet Man ran as fast as he could with his Gladius Exoskeleton away from the APC to find cover in a foxhole, or a missile crater.

Drano, down in his foxhole and partially covered aims center mass at the Triax bot/PA and opens fire with his Boom Gun. He hope every one else on the ground does the same.

Na-Wa aims his laser turret at the missiles coming at him (and the APC) and fires. He tells no one that he has pee-peed his pants for the second or third time today.

The APC opens fire with a stream of rail gun rounds, lasers and ion blasts, along with a pair of plasma missiles to take down the incoming missiles. Na-Wa is the only gunner to take one of them down, before the ones Silvermasque fired destroy the other three incoming missiles.

He follows them up with a volley of four armour piercing missiles directed at the giant robot.

The seven support power armours by the Devastator and the robots own turrets likewise shoot down the entire volley before they reach their target.

The Glitter Boys' boom guns all reach their target, but appaer to be absorbed into some sort of force field surrounding the Devastator!

It follows up the first volley of missiles with dozens more, mainly focused on the APC, but also lightly scatters the entire area where 3rd and 4th Squads are sitting with mini missiles along with laser and ion blasts.

The APC gunners do their best, but only manage to shoot down three or four of the incoming misiles. And without Magnet Man, and Lotus to deflect them away, and without any missiles left in the APC, there is nothing anyone inside can do to stop wave after wave of missiles.

During the first 15 seconds or so while the forcefield is being blown to hell, the APC is hit by nine Medium Missiles. It takes a substantial amount of damage and the double barrel ion cannon is completely destroyed.

( 610 damage total. In addition to the 210 from earlier it is down to approximately 950. We can assume it had suffered minor damage while Doc was the owner - just a bit, it was not quite at the perfect full MDC of course )

The forcefield drops on the first spray of boom gun rounds from the 3 glitter boys, in addition to the missiles Silvermasque sent off before The Devastator had landed on its feet.

The Glitter Boys keep firing, and now they can literally see their weapons blowing holes in the 'bot. This is a battle of technology, and a race to see who has brought more armour and devastation to the fight.

Still in partial cover, Drano pounded the Triax Bot/PA with his boom gun. With the fire power they had the robot wouldn’t last forever...

Viktor had hesitated to send the Iron Juggernauts out towards the Devastator hoping to not lose them in a shower of missiles. But after witnessing the damage done by the Glitter Boys, he hated himself for holding back and gave the order.

Almost immediately the Juggernauts take to the air and blast off towards the Devastator.

 With the main (and only) missile tubes on the Leopard having a good couple of miles reach on most anything else the squad carries as regular armament, when the report of empty magazines rolls in 'Masque lets fly with the pre-tasked volleys, trying to catch the flying leviathan in the air before it can get down and deploy its robot outriders.

 The first launch consists entirely of fragmentation warheads, each set to proximity detonate in mid-flight at the touch of incoming counter-missiles, whilst behind them two mixed flights of plasma and high explosive leap from the box launchers, bathing the entire APC in jetwash and smoke, a final storm of pure AP warheads leaping downrange a moment later, as fast as the armoured vehicles target computer can recycle the target settings and program their course.

 In something like seven or eight seconds of sound and thunder, the APC expends its entire short-range missile payload, and the Russian cyborg ensconsed in the command and control centre calls out over the unit radio "Maneuvering!" as he fires up the main wheels and starts attempting to evade the inevitable return fire - with about the level of success he really expected from trying to run sixty plus feet of armoured fighting vehicle out from under a storm of the most advanced smart missiles in frontline service.

 Explosions blanket the Leopard, tearing armour and structural framework from the chasis and sending weapon mounts flying, whereupon he sends the remains of the AFV lurching into the 'cover' of the thick clouds of smoke thrown up by the awesome bombardment it's suffered, a simple automated command blowing the crew hatches on the side 'sheltered' from attack by the enemy as 'Masque calls "Last stop for third platoon express, everybody out and into foxholes, double-time!"

Mephisto cast a spell on Na-Wa before leaving the APC and running for cover. It covers the Psi-Stalker in an additional suit of medieval-style magic armour. Perhaps Mephisto is capable of acts of kindness...

As Na-Wa exits the APC and dives for a hole in the ground he can be seen flailing his hands about as he was on fire and trying to get the magical suit of armor off of his body.

 "I was thinking maybe to try to knock damn' big bastard over, because is lot of armour left on this thing... but am doubting I would make it and then would be stuck in no-mans land with ass hanging out!" calls back 'Masque before making a few very rapid adjustments, the APC jerking around until it's pointed more or less directly at the Devastator (but inside the smoke cloud) and, as the last person bails out using his cyberjack to override every engine safety feature he can digitally reach before locking the steering and sending the armoured vehicle tearing forwards at full speed and then some... his cybernetic frame leaping from the rear crew hatch and rolling rather heavily along the ground and towards cover a moment later, his armoured shock-frame absorbing the impace readily, if ungracefully as he ends up more or less hull-down (and face-down) in a foxhole.

 Okay, so it's not an accurate missile or a ... but it is a big target...

McCloud tries to help out 'Masque's ramming attack with some distracting boom-gun fire.  Not that he wouldn't have blasted away, anyway, but this makes him sound like more of a team player...

The Glitter Boys are literally going to blow the giant robot in half in a matter of seconds (Drano inflicting considerably more than any of the 3). It doesn't slow it's attack however and the gunners open fire on the Chromium Guardsmen, while hammering away at the incoming APC with volleys of mini missiles. The Devastator completely ignores everyone else.

The CS ground troops likewise fire several mini missiles at the APC as it speeds towards them...

Leaping out of the APC along with the others, Photios refreshes his magical armor and then skirts his way from Foxhole to Foxhole. Drawing back away from the immediate battlefield, he finds a calm moment and starts casting a longer incantation. Weaving an immense web of power before casting it out over the gathered enemies to send them into confusion.

Mephisto takes aim with his JA-11 laser rifle and fires at the Devstator, while remaining in partial cover. Even at this range it should still do some damage...

 Part-straightening in the bottom of his blast crater, 'Masque reaches to unsling one of the two heavy grenade launcher rifles he's taken to using for long-range fire operations and checks the feed, then swings the barrel up over the rim of his cover and settles his sighting systems on the smaller RPA units scattered about the feet of the staggering behemoth, looking for clusters to target with tight bursts of powerful fragmentation warheads at the same time as trying to pick out the closest target for Third Platoons infantry weapons to engage.
