You were right, Cyan. The song is perfect. What's the name?

Re: Yet more OOC...

Devlin will roll his eyes....  I used it in a game we were in a long time ago during a High School Dance and it was the 'Theme Song' for a game I ran on Storycrafter (appropriately titled The Black Heart - 4th Age Middle Earth fantasy game) that I'm considering restarting.  Devlin was in both of those games, and probably thinks I'm addicted to the song.  But it suits so many things in Roleplaying so very well.

Black Black Heart (David Usher)

I don't advise purchasing the whole album without checking it out first (I'm not a big fan of his other stuff), but that song is excellent.  There are two versions (on the album! :) - a slower, haunting one he sings with a woman (in the chorus), and a harder, more acidic version (complete with stronger guitars, etc).

I'm thinking about the slower version in this case.

Excellent. I'll be sure to check it out when I can. I wish I could post now, but I'm at work.

I'm not sure how Dorian will react to that. I'm kind of interested to see how this will end.

Well, you kicked Cyan's feet out from under her.  She came prepared for a different reaction, to be frank.  So she's having problems as well.

Re: Yet more OOC...

I also think its interesting how the *roleplay* ended up being more emotion and description than actual dialogue-- I think its better this way.

Re: Yet more OOC...

By the way, the kicking of the feet out from under her wasn't intentional. I was focusing more on writing Dorian as I saw him in that moment. It surprised me a little how he came out too, but it felt right given all else that had happened recently between the two of them.

Some games I find I write to 'win' in a sense and others I simply write for the character.

Re: Yet more OOC...

Oh, the short dialogue (though Cyan, not surprisingly, is a little wordy) is good!  :)  Exploration of subjective observation and emotions is great stuff!

And I didn't think you were writing to do that.  :)  It's just that it DID catch Cyan off guard, and she's not going with her prepared plan of discussion.

Oh, yes - it works, too.  ^_^

I hope that one isn't too rough. I composed it here at work while trying to appear to actually work.

Once more, I exist. However, I'm at a loss as to how to respond at the moment, what with Aaron being... how can I put this?

He's a bit of an asshole right now, isn't he? Sorry, been a while. :)
Well, no matter what, I'll make some sort of written statement in the near future. I'll be around. :)

Re: Yet more OOC...

No worries, Dworkin!  :)

Actually, it's good, Dorian.  Good enough to be scary, which is kind of the point, I suspect.  ^_^

It's a little tough, isn't it, Aaron?  I've been there.  :(  When a character decides to get all anti-social, it tends to make the writing tougher...darn them when they run away on us!  :(  Sorry....

Great posts, both of you.  I actually applauded that last one of Dorian's.  Is there an abbreviation for that, like LOL?

Thank you, James!  And Dorian's last post is astounding.  I'm going to try to come up with some kind of response now....

I'm too old to be up on the 'internetese', I'm afraid.  It took me YEARS to figure out what IMO meant.  :(

Thank you, both. But Cyan is still the better writer of us :D

I'm not aware of any abreviations for applaud, but I'm not really an expert on that sort of thing, either.

Re: Yet more OOC...

A little more dialogue this time. I hope it's okay.

EDIT:

I also thought that for Cyan's part, Black Sabbath's Scary Dreams had somewhat appropriate lyrics.

There is no warning
There is no time
No resurrection
Till we safely die
There are no visions
No paradise
No superstition
No Afterlife

We just fade to black
We just fade to black

Won't be no future
Won't be no pain
Won't be no Satan
No one to blame
No children growing
No getting old
No one is dying
No stories told

We just fade to black
We just fade to black
We just fade to black
We just fade to black
You can't find tomorrow
You can't touch today
You don't feel no sorrow
You're driving me insane

I just can't wake from these scary dreams
I'm locked inside for eternity
I can't awake from these scary dreams
I'm locked inside for eternity

I just can't wake from these scary dreams
I'm locked inside for eternity
I just can't wake from these scary dreams
I can't escape from these scary dreams.

Yes, that's true. I don't think I would have been as able to write as well or as much without so much to work off of.

I also love the writers here. Dworkin, please never end this game :P

Re: Yet more OOC...

Well, the plan calls for a fair bit more of it yet...  There is a definite end-point that I have in mind, but the road to get there may be a long and somewhat circuitous one (at other times though, it's arrow straight... but those times tend not to last long).
