Re: Deck Plan
Yes, that's it. Game Over, I'm afraid.
The other monks, back at the Abbey, will assume that one of their brethren went into space while fully conscious, beheld the face of Tsort, and brought destruction on themselves.
This will provide them with the impetus to spread Tsortian doctrine to the stars much more energetically than they have previously, converting hundreds, then thousands, and finally millions of sentients to their religion (and, in the case of some over-zealous monks, converting several non-sentients, and the occasional pretty rock).
In about the year 1640 of the Third Imperium, they will gain the Emperor as a convert, and start an Inquisition. Shortly after, armed with an Imperial Warrant, the head of the Church of Tsort will declare a Jihad against those who do not follow the faith and, after four hundred years of interstellar war, the Imperium will slide into a new dark age...
On the plus side, the crew of Profit Margin have done what many players wish their characters could do - their actions will have a major (and lasting) effect on the game's Universe. Their final Jump will become the subject of scores of books, and form the basis of major studies, speculation, and debates for as long as people can still read those books. After which they will become the basis of barbarian camp fires, for as long as libraries still have all that paper laying around.
Well done, and thank you all. Help yourself to coffee and a bun on the way out.
Bye.
...
Er... no. I meant to start a new thread last night, but ran out of time. I will do something shortly.
