Re: Informative post - every game needs one.

Deepest apologies for my silence.  I've been sick, and am now dealing with a mild case of pneumonia (thanks to my hyperviolent coughing, which apparently caused some small damage to one lung).

It's not serious, so please don't worry, but this is the first day I've really had any kind of motivation to do anything for about a week.  :D

Okay, pulled myself together to actually make a post.  Horrible catch-up post, but there it is.

As always -  even you 'horrible catch-up posts' make all of my posts look heavy handed and clunky.  Good to see you back :)

More seriously, it's probably not a good thing for me to continue until I've had at least one GM post following my own.  ^_^

:)  More doctors should consider prevention and not just treating symptoms.

...not really a shot at doctors, there, it's how they're trained.  At least in North America.

I noticed...:D  But, I figured it was just Jago in shock.  I know that Ash is not all that happy either.  He's seen his share of violence, but that still doesn't mean he likes it...

This is a bit of a two-way street.  Many doctors do treat symptoms, as per their training.  But many patients wait too long before going into see a doctor as well...

Perhaps because the doctors push out a generic, one size fits all, set of pills each time,  rather than looking at problems holistically?

*shrug* A true Catch-22, I guess.  Bootstrapping issues be damned; someone needs to break the cycle! :D

Re: Informative post - every game needs one.

Truth!  :D

Honestly, doctors need more courses in things like 'nutrition', which they don't really get.

...I'm deadly seriously about that.  :(  It's fairly appalling, and we can hardly blame them if they're never taught about such things.

Re: Informative post - every game needs one.

It is also how to support those  other options in  society - nutritional advice doesn't compete well with McDonald's (for example) advertising, nor that of the drinks industry.  Or even the busy, hectic lifestyle for all adults that takes us away from the leisurely cycle of shopping for fresh foods in favour of the ready meals pushed out by the supermarkets.

I could carry on with the Tobacco industry and the ineffectiveness of commercial gyms to attract the more needy customers ...  but that is more than enough of my cynical outlook on life.

Well for the time being, at least :)

Re: Informative post - every game needs one.

I've been giving this considerable thought over the last couple of weeks, and I've come to the conclusion that it's time to lay this game to rest, after almost twelve years.

While I have enjoyed gaming with you all, I have been finding it increasingly difficult to muster sufficient motivation to post here.

Sorry everybody.

Re: Informative post - every game needs one.

Life happens, things change, stories grind to a halt.  I have certainly been there in the past :)  In my case, I think I left it too late to make those decisions and finished up away from RPoL for three/four  years.  I hope it doesn't affect you like that :)

BUT - most importantly -  thank you for running a good game, I have enjoyed playing in it.  Maybe we'll play together again  later :)

BTW - Ari says hello :)

Re: Informative post - every game needs one.

I am sorry that I have not been more actively lately (which I am sure has contributed to your pacing and posting woes, Ron).  Please accept my apologies; I'm afraid that RL has been the culprit leading to a significant decrease in my ability to post on RPoL.  All of my activity on the site has suffered - though that is little consolation, I am sure.

Like Tylen, I would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart, BBR.  You have been very patient, incredibly diligent, and an absolute joy to play with.

And that actually goes for all of the players here.  Thank you for making this game a lot of fun for me.  I hope to play with all of you again some time; or rather, I would love to play with any (or all) of you again, at any point.  Though realistically, I don't know if that will ever happen.

Still, everyone take care and best of gaming to all of you!

Re: Informative post - every game needs one.

Yeah, I need not tell you I have had prolonged absence, and I certainly do not need to tell Ron, since he suffers me on a daily basis.  ;)

That said, I have had fun when I have been capable of contributing and shall miss you all, and while he knows the reasons and all I still feel like I too contributed.  So there, Ron.  :p

Still, 12 years, goodness me.  O_o

Re: Informative post - every game needs one.

I understand, Ron.  I've had a great time, but all good things must come to an end*.  Huge thanks for all of your work, and for all of the time you've put in on this game.

And the same goes for the other players!  :D

I hope to see everyone around...somewhere...on Rpol in the future.  Everyone take care of themselves!
